Even as more people leave and Scientology continues inexorably to dwindle, the church never gives up trying to spread its message, sometimes in subtle ways.
The latest example is a campaign we learned about before Scientology has even been able to launch it. It’s the newest ad from the Florida chapter of its anti-psychiatry front group, the Citizens Commission on Human Rights, CCHR.
Scientologists are being encouraged to donate money so CCHR can put this on Florida’s airwaves. Give it a look and let us know: How effective will this ad be in recruiting the unsuspecting to Scientology’s anti-psych fun-party?
For the newer folks, Chill is the hip hop artist with the creative chin-whiskers. He’s Scientology’s in-house rap star, and we’ve admired his work for several years now.

Lee Shewmaker gets declared
In May we told you about Lee Shewmaker, a veterinarian in Florida who had decided to walk away from Scientology after spending about a half a million dollars since he first got involved in 1990.
Lee called Scientology leader David Miscavige a “crook,” and said he regretted giving the organization so much of his money over the years.
And hey, look what the church has now sent him in return!
Lee Shewmaker Notice of Declare Order
Although Lee received this notice that he’s been “declared” a “suppressive person” — he’s been formally excommunicated, in other words — he was not shown the declare order itself, which is usually the case these days.
