Our video source has another fun dose of L. Ron Hubbard for us this week. In this “quote video” used by Scientology to sell a $125.00 set of lectures, we learn about the power of theta as it heals the faithful at a church in South America. Huh? Well, whatever.
Here’s how Bridge Publications describes this set of lectures, made soon after the publication of Hubbard’s book Science of Survival in 1951…
“Underlying the development of the Tone Scale and Chart of Human Evaluation was a monumental breakthrough: The Theta-MEST Theory, containing the explanation of the interaction between Life — theta — with the physical universe of Matter, Energy, Space and Time — MEST. In these lectures, delivered to students immediately following publication of the book, L. Ron Hubbard gave the most expansive description of all that lies behind the Chart of Human Evaluation and its application in life itself. Moreover, here also is the explanation of how the ratio of theta and en(turbulated)-theta determines one’s position on the Tone Scale and the means to ascend to higher states.”
So let’s take a look…
We hate when our theta gets disenturbulated. Thank goodness Ron found a way around it.
Once again, we asked Marc Headley to look at this video and let us know what he knew about its production…
I remember this video well. This one is chock full of Int HQ base staff. Many of which have long since gone. Most of these guys have fascinating back story so I will try to squeeze all this in.
We start off with Nicole Cifareli walking Paco Suarez into the “chapel.” Nicole was a supervisor in the Qualification division. She was married to Nicholas Cifarelli, who worked in the Film Lab. Nicholas screwed up on some film work there and was assigned to do the RPF three times over in Australia.
Paco is a another story. The entire time I was at the Int Base 1990-2005, Paco was in the HU (Household Unit) and set out LRH’s clothes on his bed each day and generally was cleaning at the LRH house on the property. They even let him out every once in awhile to do some Flamenco dancing at the Ramona Days event that would happen in the valley once a year.
The next guy we see in the church is Fabian Martinez. He was in RTC for the longest time and eventually busted into Gold for doing something Dave Miscavige did not like. He eventually blew and was never heard from again.
The next batch of folks we see are all extras that I sure were picked up somewhere nearby to use for these shots.
The next time we see some more Int Base staff is at 1:39 and they are all dressed up as businessmen. Martin Reid, Steve Young & Kenny Seybold. Then at 2:11 we have Hillary Lucas and Shawn Morrison. Hillary was the one who went to Wal-Mart and bought Suri Cruise a bunch of toys in 2006 and my spies spotted her and the story was in the NY Post the next morning. [And here’s our 2011 story that goes into great detail about that.] Then we have Tori Schell and Geray (Cruzen, Jorey) Maio in the kitchen. Tori left years ago and not so sure about Geray. That kitchen they are in in the Tavern. The Tavern was the VIP dining area for outside professionals working at the base.
The next shot has a guy and some girl walking in the world famous Int Base lake. This is the lake where people got thrown “overboard” for being out-ethics. The stone veneer bridge leads to the island of the lake and was the most popular place for the Ethics Officers to thrown people in.
Then we have Trevor Sargeant (has since left), Sandra Lewis & Leah O’Hare. Melita Guider hanging some clothes, Ben Sproule in the hat and then Natalie Fisher smelling a rose.
Finally we get to our over the LRH shoulder shots where he is doing all the in depth research that no one has ever seen.
I am no expert on Theta, but according to the old codger Scientology might be lacking in the Theta department these days.
Thank you once again, Marc.

Another update from Belgium
Jonny Jacobsen has a further update for us about Belgium’s criminal prosecution of Scientology…
Belgian broadcaster RTBF spoke to lawyers on either side of the case.
Maître Bruno Dayez, who represents some of the plaintiffs welcomed the fact that the criminal case was being sent for trial.
“It’s already really one point clearly in our favour. As for the rest, even if there are procedural obstacles, we are still entitled to act at the civil level — so even if the case were to collapse on the criminal side that would not mean for all that that I would not pursue compensation for my clients to the end.
After 17 years of investigation however, Scientology’s lawyers will argue that the case has dragged on too long for it to come to trial.
“It does pose a problem, to have such long proceedings,” said Maître Pierre Monville, who represents one of the defendants.
“The infractions stretch back into time and are hidden and so it is difficult to see what someone is being accused of when you go through 20 years in the life of an association,” he added.
The charge sheet, RTBF reported, included accusations of the illegal practice of medicine; fraud; extortion; false representation; the non-respect of privacy; and criminal organisation.
