John P. Coale, OT 6 Scientologist, among attorneys suing Big Tech for Trump

Back in 2015, we had a lot of fun writing about attorney John P. Coale and his wife, former Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren, who were not only both longtime Scientologists but who had both also completed Scientology’s bizarre auditing level “OT 4,” which helps a person put the invisible alien entities sticking to them through drug rehab.

Think we’re kidding about that? No way. And now, we can report two new fun facts about Mr. Coale, who never responded to our requests for an interview for that 2015 article.

First, we can tell you that Scientology’s own publications show that in 2017 Coale also completed “OT 6,” a sign that he is still a dedicated church member and continues to move up the “Bridge to Total Freedom.”

The other piece of news you might have already heard: Coale is one of eight attorneys who signed on to help former President Trump with the class action lawsuits he announced yesterday that are aimed at tech giants Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube for “censoring” him and other Americans.

There was something of a feeding frenzy in the news yesterday and on social media about those lawsuits and the attorneys who are helping Trump. Coale was ridiculed by various pundits because he is still apparently using an AOL email address. And also because Trump referred to him as a “tobacco lawyer” and so the president’s critics assumed that Trump meant that Coale had worked for the big tobacco companies.

In fact, Coale made a fortune in the 1990s as one of the attorneys opposing the tobacco companies in litigation that resulted in massive settlements from the tobacco firms.

That knee-jerk criticism of Coale — that he was somehow on the side of Big Tobacco — was dead wrong. And besides, Coale and his wife Van Susteren are far more interesting for their decades of devotion to L. Ron Hubbard and their achievement of Scientology’s OT auditing levels.

These are superior beings, people.

As we pointed out in our 2015 article, Coale has a fascinating history, not only as a DC political player, and for his work in the tobacco wars, but also for his advocacy for Scientology. Here’s what we said in 2015:

Back in 2009, Gawker’s John Cook wrote a great piece about Coale, who at that point was running Sarah Palin’s political action committee. Cook had dug up a 1986 Scientology document which showed that Coale had proposed a really clever and somewhat underhanded way for Scientology to increase its influence in Washington….

The name for the group Coale came up with was pretty clever: Freedom, Liberty And Good Government Political Action Committee, or FLAGG PAC.

Non-Scientologists would see a patriotic name, but Scientologists would hear an echo of the organization’s headquarters in Clearwater, Florida, known as “Flag.”

Although the previous level, “Operating Thetan Level Three,” or “OT III,” gets a lot more attention with its story about Xenu the galactic overlord made famous in a 2005 South Park episode, we think it’s a shame that OT IV doesn’t have its own notoriety.

You see, on OT III you might learn that you are not just one being but actually a collection of many, perhaps thousands, of unseen souls clustered together after being marooned on Earth in a genocidal act 75 million years ago, but on OT IV, you learn that there’s even more work than simply chasing away these “body thetans” or “BTs.” It turns out that your unseen body thetans also have drug histories, and it’s your job to get them all to go through some kind of rehab to dry out…

And Hubbard is ready for your objection that you may not have used any drugs in this lifetime: “Maybe the guy has never taken LSD or Pheno-barbitol in his lifetime and doesn’t have any of that drug actually in his body. But the BT or cluster freewheeling through an incident containing the drug mocks up the apparency of the drug in the body, making the guy feel that he is on that drug.”

Hubbard’s jargon is a bit thick, but you get the idea — your current life is going to be affected by your unseen spirits re-experiencing their drug binges from millions or billions of years ago until you take care of it.

And, he spells out, your body thetans may be carrying around drug residues that we haven’t even invented in this solar system, so be prepared to restimulate the mother of all flashbacks.

Why, we have to wonder, is it not OK to ask John P. Coale, legal champion, stadium executive, jet travel supplier to presidential candidates, about his work putting his invisible space entities through drug rehab? Shouldn’t he have amazing stories to tell about it?

Alas, Coale’s attempt at a stealth Scientology PAC failed, but he’s remained loyal to the church, despite Greta’s playing footsie with Christian preacher Franklin Graham in recent years.

As for the former president’s lawsuits against Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter, media outlets were quick yesterday to label them “ridiculous” and “fantasy.”

But hey, Trump has set himself up with an OT 6 lawyer. Just wait until Coale’s postulates kick in. Zuckerberg will never know what hit him.

Past is Prologue

1997: The family of Odhran Fortune organized a massive demonstration in Gorey this week. Odhran is the Irish Scientologist whose family is attempting to get him released from Scientology. “An international day of protest against the Church of Scientology provoked a march in Gorey which brought the Co. Wexford town to a standstill at the weekend. Up to 1,500 marchers paraded through Gorey in a massive display of community solidarity with the Wexford family, the Fortunes, who believe their son, Odhran, has been brainwashed by the Scientologists. A delegation from the town marched through Dublin city centre on Saturday morning but could not protest outside the organisation’s offices in Abbey Street because of a court injunction. Anti-Church of Scientology supporters joined in similar marches in England, Australia, Switzerland, and various cities in the United States.”
