The anonymous drone pilot just had to go back for a closer look.
In September, we posted footage shot by a drone operator who has kept himself unidentified. He had shot images of several secretive Scientology locations in the Western U.S., and he allowed the Underground Bunker to premiere his videos. He’s made the footage free to use without strings, and we’ve started to see some of his crisp 4K video show up in television shows.
One of the places he went over in detail was the headquarters of Scientology’s most clandestine entity, the Church of Spiritual Technology. CST is a very odd organization. Its mandate is to dig vaults where L. Ron Hubbard’s words can be preserved for centuries. His words are etched on stainless steel plates which are held in titanium boxes filled with inert gases, and then stored in the underground vaults, three of which are located in California, and one is in New Mexico.
One of the vaults is in a small compound near Lake Arrowhead, California, and that’s also where CST has its headquarters, where the work of preparing those steel plates and other ways of preserving Hubbard’s words goes on. And it’s there, we believe, that Scientology leader David Miscavige keeps his wife, Michele “Shelly” Barnett Miscavige, since banishing her there in the summer of 2005. (A recent sighting near the base is something that we’re taking seriously.)
In September, we got to see the first ever drone flyover of the property, and with the help of a former CST employee, Dylan Gill, we got a pretty good idea of where Shelly may be living and where she may be working on the property. (Please take a look at how we labeled those views to get an idea of what you’re seeing at this compound.)
But the drone pilot tells us that he wanted to get an even closer look, and in this 13-minute video you’ll see just what he means. He really drops down below treetop level to get us our closest and clearest looks ever of the various buildings on the property.
Once again, we’ll recommend that you go full screen for these views and really soak up the incredible 4K detail.
And that’s not all! As a bonus, we’re also including a video the drone pilot shot over the Narconon facility in Nevada, which calls itself Rainbow Canyon Retreat. We’ve mentioned the facility in numerous stories, and it’s been the subjects of lawsuits and journalistic exposes.
Now it’s nice to get a great look at the place, as well as the beautiful surroundings.
