Rod Keller continues to keep us up to date on Scientology’s “Ideal Org” program, as David Miscavige pushes to open a number of new facilities one right after the other.
Yesterday the new Dublin Ideal Org opened its doors, and Scientology leader David Miscavige only has a week before officiating at the opening of the next one in Birmingham, England on October 21. As we reported last month, the org is experiencing a surge in staff members, eager to be among the “founding staff members.”
Scientology orgs are usually divided into “Foundation” and “Day,” with Foundation handling the nights and weekends. A complete org structure is staffed for each, so that they can be considered two orgs sharing one building. Birmingham Day Executive Director Simon Chisholm describes how the org will function with all of the posts filled with staff that have been trained in Los Angeles or Clearwater to Golden Age of Tech II standards.
Dublin and Birmingham are similar in that many of these new staff are not from the area. Staff housing has been set up in each city to accommodate them as an inducement to sign up.
Staff will soon be arriving back from LA and Flag with the Ideal Org opening within a couple of weeks. A staff residence is being set up for them. I (Helen Asberg) will be driving a large van to Birmingham on Saturday to deliver beds and other equipment. There are some items still needed for the staff berthing. Can you help?
Bunk beds
Chest of drawers
Vacuum cleaners
Microwave
Clothes airers/tumble drier
Irons
Ironing boards
Clothes hangers
Brooms, mops, mop bucket, dustpan and brush
Mugs, crockery and cutlery
Pots, pans, colanders, toasters and anything else for a kitchen.
Pictures
Plus anything else nice to make it a home for them. Many thanks
Helen Asberg and Helen Cruse
Staff housing is unusual for Class V orgs and can deter those who are thinking of “blowing,” or leaving. Not only would they lose their job and friends, leaving Scientology would put them out of their home in an unfamiliar city. Bunk bed “berthing” is more typical for Sea Org members where they can be dirty and poorly maintained. This housing arrangement does make it easier for married couples and families to join staff. Usually a working spouse or parent supports a staff member, who make less than minimum wage. In Birmingham we are seeing couples and entire families join staff together.
Since our last article more staff have been signing contracts and leaving for Los Angeles for training. Contracts are either 2.5 or 5 years, and if a Scientologist breaks their contract they can be expected to pay back the cost of any processing or training they receive. (Captions are theirs.)
Last month the Birmingham facility had 125 staff, and now are up to 153. Scientologists who don’t sign a staff contract before the opening risk missing out when or if the org goes Saint Hill size, and the promise that the Universe Corps will arrive to deliver the OT levels to qualified staff members.
Birmingham Ideal Org to be needs two more auditors and is opening in a matter of weeks. We don’t care where you are! We need you!! Please contact us so we can work out logistics and get you arrived!!! We are at 153 staff now and have 18 trained auditors but need 20 before opening! We need another 32 staff in days. Its tight but it must be done!!! So please, come on board cause we need crazy ideas and crazy people who wanna step up to the plate, be on staff and help us open this Ideal Org and change the face of the UK forever!!!!!
Love, Ana Tivan, and Chiara Calcioli (CMO UK)
CMO is the Commodore’s Messenger Organization, a high level Sea Org Org. Scientology is determined to make this Ideal Org open and grow, and any CMO member would be authorized to issue any orders she thinks necessary to achieve that goal.
Scientology is determined to make the Birmingham Ideal Org a success and have devoted unusual levels of resources to ensure that it is. It remains to be seen if it escapes the boom and bust process that previous ideal orgs have experienced.
