Another Scientology OT dies of Covid, this time near the Florida ‘spiritual mecca’

[In January, Sergio Rojo was the happy buyer of a Mirit Castro painting.]

We’ve learned about the death of another OT Scientologist to Covid, and we found out about it from a Scientologist who had also been battling the disease, a woman named Julia in Clearwater, Florida, which is home to Scientology’s “spiritual mecca,” the Flag Land Base.

Julia detailed at her Facebook account how her entire family — herself, her husband, and her son and daughter — spent the month of August battling scary cases of Covid. Her husband had it worst, spending several weeks in the hospital on oxygen but not on a ventilator. None of them were vaccinated, and Julia was convinced her husband had been infected when he was around vaccinated people who were “shedding” the virus. When a commenter cast doubt on that theory, she was incensed.

Her son was also hospitalized, but she was relieved in early September when they both came home. Her husband was still on oxygen and his kidneys had been damaged, but all four of them were improving.

Sadly, she noted, a friend of theirs, another Scientologist in Clearwater, OT 6 Sergio Rojo, wasn’t so lucky.

According to the Scientologists leaving remembrances at a GoFundMe for Sergio’s family and at Facebook, Rojo was a very well liked former SF staff member who had also spent time in Los Angeles before coming to Clearwater.

“Sergio has a way of making you feel like you are the only person in the room… his presence is missed,” said one person donating to his family’s fundraiser.

We said this the other day in regards to an OT 8 in California, and the message is the same after the death of an OT 6 in Florida: Your Scientology superpowers do not work on the virus. Please get the vaccine. It works.

Did you know you can get an email every morning when we post our daily Scientology story? We know some of the folks who come to the Underground Bunker aren’t here to talk about the politics of the day, and that’s why we created a daily politics feature over at our other blog, The Lowdown, and we ask readers to take their political discussions over there. And if you drop us a line at tonyo94 AT gmail, we’ll put you on the list so you get a morning reminder that a new Scientology story has been posted — and only for our Scientology stories.

“There is cyclical illness which is dictated in the various R6 implants. A fellow was forced to get sick at the age of five, followed multiples of five, and he’s supposed to get sick from this and from that, and from the other thing. Measles and, you know he’s supposed to have and that’s certain. They predict his health, in other words. When he’s fifty he’s supposed to something or other. What they’re trying to do is make a body cave in. See?” — L. Ron Hubbard, September 30, 1968

“It was more dangerous to raise the stern anchor than it was to hope it held as it was holding. Rear view mirror into the past. We should have anchored on the other side of the little island day before yesterday. We’re sitting here held by my postulates and a stern anchor. If either let go we’d wreck our screws. Let this be a lesson in seamanship. The morale is anchor more safely when you can, not after you’re unsafely anchored.” — The Commodore September 30, 1970

“Freezone is much less expensive. Average Class VIII charges between $100 and $200 an hour for auditing.”

Past is Prologue

1997: Lawrence Wollersheim warned that Factnet may be on the verge of closing down. “Scientology has run Factnet out of its insurance money. They have again threatened that they are going to destroy us as they destroyed THE CULT AWARENESS NETWORK (CAN) and put Factnet’s Director and or former directors into bankruptcy. They have filed a flurry of frivolous motions to further expedite the depletion of our legal funds.”

Random Howdy

“I realized this maybe six years ago when I first read about TR-Alice. I was gobsmacked at how obvious it was. I’ve read numerous examples of Hubbard having a laugh at his followers’ expense since then.”
