A look inside a Scientology org as it prepares to reopen for the public

We have another dispatch from the folks at the Dublin org, who are just bursting to re-open the facility and welcome everyone back.

We’re thrilled that a tipster has been alerting us to these Dublin reports, which give us a pretty good snapshot of what’s going on at Scientology orgs right now. Most of the orgs, like in Dublin, are shut down except for a skeleton crew that is living on the premises. But they’re itching to re-open, because begging the few remaining Scientologists to keep on with extension courses doesn’t bring in the income they’re used to.

And while Scientologists are sharing all of the things you’d expect in various social media settings — conspiratorial memes denouncing Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx and calling the coronavirus a hoax — publicly they are celebrating the “sanitation” PR effort to make it look like Scientology is actually part of the pandemic solution.

But some media, at least, isn’t fooled, which Tracey McManus at the Tampa Bay Times proved with her story about “Stay Well” pamphlets making their way into school lunches in Clearwater, or a new story in Australia about pamphlets being dropped off at a Woolworths store.

But you can bet that Scientology is going to keep pushing with the idea that it wants to decontaminate the world with spray solutions, while privately they’re assuring each other it’s all hysteria.

So here’s the Dublin report…

NEWS FROM OUR TEAM
Church of Scientology & Community Centre of Dublin

Hello, everyone – friends, followers, students, parishioners, visitors, performers, guests … i.e. our extended family @home!

We hope that you are all staying well, staying healthy, busy and in good spirits.

We thought we would let you know what we have been up to over the past few weeks.

Our Church & Community Centre is closed for the moment due to the circumstances and our team is working from home, like many people in the world right now… A few of us are living on the premises in Firhouse so we can take care of the building and the grounds (which are very beautiful at this time of the year but really not the same without you…).

But despite the strange situation, we have done some really cool things in the last few weeks to prepare for opening again and we thought we’d let you know!

THE COMMUNITY CENTRE

We are using a military grade hydrogen-peroxide-based decontamination product (Decon7) to disinfect and sanitise all of our community centre premises. D7 is a US product, tested to kill a multitude of viruses including Coronavirus on hard surfaces and textiles for up to 7 hours. D7 has been used in hospitals in China in recent months to fight the pandemic.

All of our spaces – from the 1,000-seat Auditorium to the air-conditioning units – have been completely sanitised with D7 and meticulously cleaned.

You have never seen the auditorium so sparkling clean, bursting fresh and ready for your community events, dance classes, Fèiseanna, competitions, fundraisers, movie showings, family fun days and more. We are really looking forward to this!!!!

THE PITCH

For all sports fans, the pitch is taken care of. It is looking great and is well rested after the extended break.

It is being kept in perfect condition and is more than ready for your next trainings and games once these can be held again!

OUR COURSES @HOME

As you know, in addition to holding community events, we normally also run courses 7 days a week, covering subjects like overcoming negativity, life improvement, communication skills, etc.

As our course rooms are closed currently, we had to adjust our lives and focus on delivering a wide range of extension courses which people can do from home…

The book of their choice is sent to them along with a home study course pack which takes them through the book, chapter by chapter, with short study exercises. As a lesson is completed it is sent in by e-mail to be graded. When all lessons for a book (usually around 20-25) are completed and verified, the person gets their certificate by post!

In the last five weeks we have received over 2,000 lessons which has kept us busy and happy to help!

CELEBRATING 70 YEARS

Last Saturday we celebrated the 70th anniversary of the book release of Dianetics: the Modern Science of Mental Health, published originally on May 9th, 1950 by author and philosopher Lafayette Ronald Hubbard. Instead of a big party, as we would have done, we had to limit the celebrations to symbolic actions and online interaction due to the current circumstances.

And so, a group of enthusiasts built a large “70” with copies of the Dianetics book, while talented artist and dedicated volunteer Adrienn hand painted a book-shaped cake for the occasion.

For those of you who don’t know, Dianetics (from Greek dia – through and nous – mind or soul) is the product of twelve years of independent research into the field of the mind by Mr. Hubbard. The book centres on the power of thought and of the human mind. It remained a New York Times best seller for 26 consecutive weeks upon its publication in 1950.

DID YOU KNOW that the Irish are the world’s most curious nation when it comes to Dianetics?

According to Google Trends, as of this 70th anniversary, IRELAND (of course, who else?!) is the number one country in the world with the highest percentage of online searches for “Dianetics” over the past 12 months, making it the world’s most curious nation about the subject.

HELP LOCALLY

We reached out to a local nursing home to deliver PPE for their residents and have another ongoing fundraiser for another local nursing home as well.

Please, like and share our post here and if you can please also donate, no donation is too small! All help is appreciated.

STAY WELL CAMPAIGN

As you might have seen already, we launched a Stay Well Online Prevention Resource Centre which is now available in 20 languages, including Irish.
Our motto at this time: “Is fiú tonna leighis unsa coisc” or “An ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure”.

The Resource Centre features downloadable booklets and videos which include animated demonstrations of why social distancing, washing your hands and sanitising surfaces is key to stopping the spread of diseases. But they also detail what are viruses, bacteria and give basic knowledge in a manner which is easy to grasp for all ages.

We can also provide you with those booklets hard copy if you would like to have for your friends, family and/or customers when you are ready to re-open. Just write to us and tell us how many you would need.

“You ever been on the Pacific Ocean? You look an awful long distance on the Pacific Ocean and you’ll find space, you know. The speculative horizon is like that. It’s way out, man. Boy, I mean we’ve collided with data which is highly debatable as to whether it will be popular or unpopular. And I’m afraid I have to go along with the first foundation decision I made, back in 1950 when they had that board meeting and told me I wasn’t to research on any more past lives. I don’t think they ever did get that end of the building back together again. The bricks are still cracked. And I said, well, psychology and other activities in the field of the mind have always had a large eye on popularity. And they would actually throw away materials which didn’t agree with things. They’d throw away the things which didn’t agree. And that’s why they’ve not come up with any answers. They consult this thing of the popularity of a datum, the acceptability of a datum and have therefore compromised truth. So you either accept truth or popularity.” — L. Ron Hubbard, May 14, 1963

Overheard in the FreeZone

“After the last session on ENERGY, an hour ago, I started working in the Physical Universe with OT IX technology and I am amazed at how it works. For the first time I stopped giving my dog verbal commands. Just telepathically and it works much better. I have the perception of the flow of energy coming in, how it interacts and how it translates into action. Then I started to ‘see’ the energy that makes up the bodies of the people I meet.”

Random Howdy

“The FDA could have busted Scientology a thousand times over for medical fraud if they simply sent in undercover agents wired for sound and vision to sign up for courses. Scientology registrars will promise any and all medical cures as long as you show them the money. The government is an ass.”
