And Alex Barnes-Ross pointed out to us that church leader David Miscavige is referring to this new focus on children as ‘a new golden age.’ [What is this Substack thing, anyway?]

“ETHICS WARNING: It is a Comm-Evable offense to coach the pc with data about Clear in any way. You also do not evaluate for any pc and try to convince him he has gone Dianetic Clear when he hasn’t. You do not turn to ‘the pc must have gone Dianetic Clear’ when you can’t easily solve a pc’s case. You use the C/S Series in full. To send a pc through to attest to Dianetic Clear when he hasn’t truly made it is a suppressive act as that preclear will not make it on the OT Levels. An org that does not have a Clear C/S and a Clear auditor who are qualified to deliver the Dianetic Clear Special Intensive must send a person who has originated he might be Dianetic Clear, and his folders, to the nearest org with tech terminals who are qualified to deliver this Intensive.” — L. Ron Hubbard, 1981

“Some fellow by the name of Snitz, or Smutty, or something out in some state or another has written a book called, ‘What Happened To The Tens of Thousands.’ I’ve never read this book, but I think this is probably a very interesting piece of slander if I know anything else of this young commie. But, I didn’t say he was a commie, he said so. He said he left the party a long time ago, though, last October….What happened to the tens of thousands, he wants to know. What happened to the tens of thousands of people who were in there in Dianetics. Well I can tell you what happened to the tens of thousands of people, is Hubbard didn’t hypnotize them. He told them the truth….Everybody knew everything was being run at sixes and sevens. This wouldn’t be news to anybody. It wouldn’t have anything to do with whether or not there was horrible scandal, or upset, or good jobs of processing or bad jobs of processing. Just nobody started out to make a large cult composed of numerous people. Somebody set out to inform people of everything he knew that was true. And of course it didn’t make a population heavy game. And then a few of us kept on going because we weren’t satisfied that all the answers were in sight. We weren’t satisfied that we knew all the procedures which could be best employed. And we have actually invented a bunch of brand new games on top of games, in some cases. But we’re not aware of these, we’ve just learned how to teach somebody, seven years after Dianetics. What happened to the tens of thousands? They weren’t hypnotized. If those had been tens of thousands of people in psychology they would not now we a hundred million. This is for sure. When you start out to set people free then you have to inform them.” — L. Ron Hubbard, March 20, 1957

“If I focus on the whole or being one with all, I can encompass all the possibilities. If I focus on ‘me’ or ‘I,’ it seems as if I can also see myself as whole or of component parts such as different types of identities. It is similar to seeing a car. One calls it a car to sum up all the components. Same is with a body. We can look at the planet and say, it is a planet but it is composed of billions and billions of parts and pieces. Same as expanding out even further, and labeling all as One. But, what would you call it other than the One or main thetan or God?”

2000: Mark Bunker reported on a court hearing in Chicago this week, in which he was charged in connection with an attack by Chicago Police officers outside the org during filming. “I was surprised to see that this little misdemeanor trespassing charge was big enough to merit the appearance of Elliot Abelson. I am very fortunate to have as my attorney, Stephen Komie. He is highly regarded and a Board Member of the Illinois State Bar Association: A bailiff walked by us in court and said to me of Komie, ‘You have the best attorney in the city.’ The state asked for an increase in bail. The judge denied this motion saying that I appeared in court for this appearance and I didn’t seem at risk of jumping bail. He also granted my motion to allow me to travel freely between my home in Florida and Chicago. Then the prosecutor really shocked me by saying they were adding three charges against me: creating a public disturbance, resisting arrest battery against a police officer. These charges are completely false and while I expected this behavior from the Scientologists, I was surprised to see that they could convince the state to press these lies. My video camera was rolling through the entire event and you could have seen and heard exactly what happened but that tape has gone missing while in the custody of the police. My attorney then entered a protective order for the videotape, demanding that the evidence be preserved. The prosecutor claimed there was never any videotape in the camera. With that, a court date was set for April 4th where I believe I am to be arraigned. I have every faith that I will prevail since I am completely innocent.”

“I’m surprised Gary Glitter didn’t become a Scientologist. It would have been the perfect cover for his degraded beingness.”
