VIDEO: Proof Scientology still promotes Hubbard’s bizarre ideas about evolution

[This illustration only makes sense to Scientologists]

We have another leaked video of a webinar that was promoted to European Scientologists this week. In “The Evolution of Life: The True Story” by Barna Gombos we can see the anti-science nature of Scientology. Gombos denies the existence of evolution and the webinar is based on the writings of L. Ron Hubbard, starting with his definition of life as a combination of Theta and MEST.

Hubbard pokes fun at the primordial soup model of abiogenesis first proposed by Darwin, but that theory is the basis of the RNA World hypothesis that is thought to be the most likely path in the origin of life. Hubbard instead imagines beings with great computers that design animals and convince thetans to inhabit them.

Gombos describes Hubbard’s theory of the Genetic Entity — a second soul that reincarnates from body to body and performs autonomic functions that keep the body going. “This is the ‘mind’ of an animal, a dog or a cat or a cow” is his description. It’s the Genetic Entity that recalls past lives and deaths as animals best described Hubbard’s 1952 book “A History of Man” with the famous first line “A cold-blooded and factual account of your last 76 trillion years.”

The video is evidence of the blind adherence Scientologists have to Hubbard’s written and spoken words despite the bizarre theories he developed. The meaningless disclaimer “What’s true for you is what you have observed yourself” is always said and discarded. “What’s true for Hubbard is what’s true for you” would be a more accurate description of how his words are treated in Scientology.

It’s also evidence that the space opera event of OTIII with Xenu and the volcanoes is not the first time a Scientologist has been presented with an impossible history involving aliens. The beings with computers that design animals are presented here for publics and staff that haven’t reached the lofty and expensive OT levels.

“This is probably how the ancient magician enchanted things. Possibly princes have turned into deer in the forest. If you took a period in the magic universe when thetans were still capable of mocking up their own bodies, and you pulled some shocking stunt on the person and sandwiched them in that ‘You are now a deer,’ why, he’d cease to mock up the prince and start mocking up a deer, don’t you see? And he would be an enchanted deer. That would be how enchantments were accomplished. I mean, the mechanism of enchantment is no cruder than that.” — L. Ron Hubbard, May 24, 1962

Overheard in the FreeZone

“When I see former corporate Scientologists in the free world expressing doubts or outright disagreements with the truth or workability of Scientology – or railing against KSW, the thought immediately comes to mind that the person was failed by the organization somewhere along the line. Either that, or that person is a true SP who is only interested in using the tech to suppress and dominate others.”

Random Howdy

“There are no shortage of folks here who enjoy a serious discourse, and there are those like myself who love satire, snark, and the absurd. That’s what makes this place so special. You need to be able to appreciate both to truly get the whole groovy effect of this place. And there’s a difference between respecting people and respecting their ‘beliefs’.”
