We were approached recently by a man who wanted to describe what he’s been through in the Church of Scientology. We decided to let him tell you his story in his own words, and we’ve spoken to his attorney and examined his documentation to corroborate his tale. We think you’ll find that, once again, the Church of Scientology, which considers itself an expert on everything, completely breaks down when it is actually presented with a case of emotional distress. Continue reading Scientology made him suicidal, but that was only the beginning of his problems

Here’s a timely treat for us today as Jeffrey Augustine talks with Leah Remini’s Scientology and the Aftermath costar Mike Rinder about several issues that we’ve been concerned with here at the Bunker lately. Continue reading Mike Rinder on Scientology’s smears, Miscavige’s fears, and waiting for ‘Aftermath’ news

We heard from a family member last night that Adam Holland, a former Canadian Sea Org member who went public about the Sea Org’s degrading conditions after leaving the organization in 2009, took his own life on February 17. He was only 30 years old. Continue reading Adam Holland, Scientology whistle-blower who exposed Sea Org conditions, 1988-2019

Our regular readers know that besides looking into the breaking Scientology news of the day, and keeping track of court cases, and asking around about church leader David Miscavige and his missing wife, we also, from time to time, like to dive into the source material of this wacky thing that calls itself a church. Continue reading Scientology’s founder L. Ron Hubbard on the ‘God trick,’ Christ implants, and Muslims
[Three floors down from that entrance door]Last time, Sunny Pereira described how she was declared a “suppressive person” because she had briefly dated another woman in the Sea Org. (Homosexuality is considered a “perversion” in Scientology.) Sunny’s punishment? Four months being held in the basement of Scientology’s “Big Blue” headquarters in Los Angeles, three floors down below the entrance door you see in the photo above. Sunny now has another letter for us to see, one she wrote her mother from that basement. Continue reading A letter of surrender, written from the basement of Scientology’s ‘Big Blue’ HQ

Jenna Elfman has resurrected her acting career with a role as a zombie-killer, so what better way to celebrate her career’s reincarnation than with some recognition on the cover of Scientology’s goofiest magazine, Celebrity. Continue reading Jenna Elfman’s career finds new life in the zombie apocalypse

When a cover like this shows up on the National Enquirer, we hear about it. Lots of people have been messaging us over the last few days, asking us what we thought about the National Enquirer’s claim that Shelly Miscavige has been “found” after 13 years. Oh, brother. Continue reading No, the National Enquirer has not ‘found’ Scientology’s Shelly Miscavige

Rod Keller has another lesson for us today about Scientology’s front groups and fundraising… Continue reading In Scientology, every dollar you own is under constant attack
[Leah Remini in 2006]What a treat we have for you in this week’s Scientology Lit book excerpt. It’s from Leah Remini’s 2015 memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. The excerpt takes place in 2006, right after Leah had returned from the lavish Italian wedding of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes when Leah had caused a stir by asking why Cruise’s best man, Scientology leader David Miscavige, was there without his wife, Shelly Miscavige, and was seen getting very friendly with his personal assistant. Leah was so concerned, she actually wrote up Miscavige in a “Knowledge Report” and submitted it immediately. After returning home, she would soon learn what price she would pay for turning in the church’s own dictator. Continue reading Leah Remini pays for vexing Tom Cruise with Scientology’s ‘Truth Rundown’
