We know that Boxing Day, celebrated in numerous countries where we have readers and correspondents, has nothing to do with the sport of boxing, but here in the U.S. December 26 has no other significance than the day we pay for all of the overeating, imbibing, and general madness of Christmas. Continue reading Scientology has its dukes up for Boxing Day, but we’re still thinking of warmer days

One year ago we decided that on Christmas Day it would be a good time to review what we knew about the disappearance of Shelly Miscavige, wife to Scientology’s leader David Miscavige, who vanished from Scientology’s Gold Base in summer 2005. But Scientology celebrates Christmas in private as well, with decorations, parties and gifts. Continue reading Scientology Santa: The church built on Jesus as a hoax once again co-opts Christmas
[The Daily Beast captured the year’s biggest Scientology story with this clever illo][NOTE: Don’t miss last night’s breaking news about Scientology’s attempt to force Valerie Haney into ‘religious arbitration.’] Once again, the world’s press was infected with a passion for Scientology stories this year. And that metastasized in May when news organizations went rabid over the discovery that an entire cruise ship was quarantined at the Caribbean island nation of St. Lucia for a case of the measles, and the ship in question just happened to be Scientology’s bizarre floating cathedral for its wealthiest members, the Freewinds. Continue reading The Underground Bunker’s 2019 Scientology year-in-review starts today!
[Valerie Haney]New court documents indicate that the Church of Scientology has asked for an emergency “ex parte” hearing on Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court so that it can ask that Valerie Haney’s lawsuit alleging kidnapping and slander be stayed so the church can force her to take her grievances to an internal Scientology arbitration panel instead. Continue reading Scientology asks for emergency hearing Monday to force Valerie Haney into ‘arbitration’
