Scientology working its grift on a continent where it’s the last thing they need

Rod Keller brings us a great update on Scientology’s claims that it’s opening a new “Advanced Org” — sort of like finishing school for space cadets — in a place that can’t possibly use it.

South African Scientologists are being pelted with news that the Advanced Org Africa will be opening soon. It could be true this time, but Scientology has been announcing the new AO for almost 10 years. The massive Castle Kyalami near Johannesburg was built in 1992 by Greek millionaire Demos Dinopoulos, who lived in it until 2001.

After the builder departed, the castle operated as a hotel until it was purchased by Scientology in 2008. It’s a wacky Arthurian fantasy castle completely out of place in South Africa, but Scientology loves wacky castles. L. Ron Hubbard built one at Saint Hill, Cine Castle is home to a film studio at Gold Base, the Super Power building in Clearwater has Mediterranean Revival castle-like turrets, and several Ideal Orgs have elaborate arched entries, turrets or grand staircases. They remind one of Hubbard’s unpublished book Excalibur, the precursor book to Dianetics. Arthurian themes are common in Scientology and each Ideal Orgs has a ceremonial longsword for special occasions.

FLAG TRAINED CLASS IX AUDITOR, OTV, SUPERVISOR, WORD CLEARER & CRAMMING OFFICER – MR. JC FALAS

Tomorrow, Monday 4th June, Mr. JC Falas will brief Pretoria at 7pm in the Pretoria Ideal Org Chapel. He has delayed his flight back to Flag in order to come to Pretoria and brief YOU! Get the exciting inside story and data on the Flag personnel coming to open AOSH AFRICA! Find out just what this means. Find out where exactly things are at. And get a clue as to when it WILL OPEN…

He briefed Joburg last night and everyone was blown away and keyed out per the after event feedback. Don’t miss out. Come along and get briefed and ask any questions you may have.

Jean-Claude Falas joined the Sea Org six years ago at the age of 12, abandoning his chance to represent the national junior Mozambique soccer team. It’s safe to assume he will have a post at the AO if if ever opens. Back in 2009 a group of Sea Org recruits were sent to Flag Land Base in Clearwater for training as Class IX Auditors, the level required for an AO to deliver the Operating Thetan levels. Over 100 were sent to Flag from 2009 to 2012 before disaster struck.

[2013 Scientology video on the opening of AOSH AF]

In 2013 the Golden Age of Tech Part II was released. By then many Sea Org had been sent back to Africa in disgrace for ethical violations and those who stayed were sent back to square one by GAT II. All their training would have to be re-done to the new standard. A YouTube video was released at the same time, proclaiming the opening of Kyalami was imminent. Under GAT II it was impossible to open that quickly.

The opening of the AO has been used as an inducement to convince Scientologists to contribute to Ideal Orgs in South Africa. Publics were told until recently that the opening would only happen when all six orgs went Ideal. Pretoria, Johannesburg and Joburg North have done so, but Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Durban are nowhere near moving to new quarters. And so a new theory is being spread – that the three Ideal Orgs form a “triangle” (recalling the ARC and KRC triangles of Scientology) that allows the AO to open at Kyalami. The coastal cities are no longer important, the orgs of inland Gauteng Province will pave the way.

Since 2016 Scientology has been renovating the property, which had fallen into disrepair. Now that appears to be almost complete, and the AO is again being used as a revenue generator before it opens. Publics are being warned that steps on the Bridge will be more expensive after the opening. The message is to buy now, before it’s too late.

Sea Org members have had five years to train according to GAT II, so this may be the year AOSH Africa opens. Just don’t hold your breath, Scientologists have been told that repeatedly and it hasn’t happened yet. When it does open expect it to be the emptiest Advanced Org. South Africa is far from any hotbed of Scientology activity. Copenhagen primarily serves Russians, Los Angeles caters to Latin American Scientologists, and the Australian AO hosts a huge Taiwanese contingent. Kyalami has no similar population to fill the auditing rooms. South Africa will have to rely on its own six orgs, and so this huge castle will likely remain mostly empty even after the grand opening.

HOWDYCON IS UPON US!

Hey, we’re only 11 days away from this year’s HowdyCon in Chicago, June 21-23. As in past years, we’re looking forward to meeting readers of the Bunker, culminating in Saturday night’s main event.

The biggest difference this year is that our Saturday night event is separate from that evening’s dinner. Chee Chalker is setting up an inexpensive pizza dinner that you don’t need to pay for ahead of time, after which we’ll walk over to the theater where our event, hosted by Chicago Fire star Christian Stolte, will take place. Because it’s a separate event, we’re asking that you pay $10 each to get into the Saturday night event, which will help us recoup what the Bunker paid for the venue. (We have never made a penny on our HowdyCon meetups, we only try to break even.)

Please email your proprietor (tonyo94 AT gmail) in order to reserve your spot for Saturday night’s main event. Seating is limited, and we’re going to have some really interesting people on stage and they may make a few announcements that you don’t want to miss.
