Scientology’s European mouthpiece speaks at DC event honoring Marco Rubio

Keller5p11

Time again for Rod Keller’s Scientology Social Media Review! Rod goes way back, having kept a meticulous eye on the church since 1992. He’s well known for his indispensable “ARS Week in Review,” which ran for nine years when ARS — the Usenet newsgroup alt.religion.scientology — was the most important daily source for Scientology news. More recently, Rod has made a specialty of hunting down the odd and wonderful things Scientologists post to social media. Rod is a chronicler who piece by piece builds a highly detailed assessment of what Scientology is doing around the world, and this is what he found for us this week…

Scientologist Eric Roux spoke (see above) during the presentation of the Thomas Jefferson International Religious Freedom Champion Award to U.S. Senator and recent presidential candidate Marco Rubio and Congresswoman Anna Eshoo at the Capitol building in Washington, DC this week. As Scientology’s spokesman in France, Roux is the most visible member of Scientology’s secret police force, the Office of Special Affairs, in Europe. His panel discussion title was The Importance of Policy Responses to the Situation in Europe.

In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Brussels, Scientology has a solution to the crisis: Keep everyone calm by distributing a custom edition of The Way to Happiness by L. Ron Hubbard. The special cover used in the appeal for funds is the French flag, left over from the Paris attacks. Expect to see a version with the Belgian black, yellow, and red flag soon.

Help us reach the first target of 25,000 The Way to Happiness books for Brussels with this message of peace and tolerance so that each person has what they need to create calm and keep the calm spreading.

Thank you for your support,

Scientology Volunteer Ministers are working in Fiji to repair damage caused by Hurricane Winston in February, which left tens of thousands homeless. A Youcaring donations page has been set up to assist Scientologist and Fiji resident Alfred Waqa with the clean-up. Some outside help has been sent, but work appears to be done primarily by locals wearing Scientology T-shirts.

Mexican actor and director Eugenio Derbez was presented with a Spanish-language version of the L. Ron Hubbard novel Battlefield Earth at the Author Services building in Hollywood this week. Derbez was in town to unveil his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and is known for comedies and telenovelas such as Instructions Not Included and Anabel.

Scientologists have been doing the Cause Resurgence Rundown for several years, which consists of spending many hours running in circles around a pole in a darkened room in the Super Power building in Clearwater, Florida. This week Sajdik Péter from Hungary became the 2,753rd Scientologist to complete the program, which costs about $2,500.

The New York Ideal Org will host a movie showing on April 8th for the film Around Every Corner. The movie won awards at the Northeast Film Festival, held each year in Teaneck, New Jersey. “It opens the eyes of the world to a plaguing issue and bringing an understanding that with compassion and an understanding, we can stop this horrible issue.”

The event also features viewings of videos from the Foundation for a Drug-Free World. The promotion page lists the location as “L. Ron Hubbard Theatre” with no mention of Scientology.

Your proprietor talking Scientology on the Ed Opperman Report

Private investigator Ed Opperman had us on his Saturday evening radio show last night, and we talked about Scientology for two full hours. He stumped us with a couple of his questions, but all in all it was a lot of fun.
