A reader brought to our attention that they were actually served, as an advertisement at Facebook, a link to a tribute video featuring tech luminary Craig Jensen, a longtime Scientologist, extolling the virtues of church leader David Miscavige, who is really just a regular, funny, great guy, y’all. Continue reading Scientology leader David Miscavige praised in videos on David Miscavige’s website

When someone reaches the pinnacle of Scientology achievement — completing the auditing level of Operating Thetan Level Eight — it’s really a big deal. This is someone who has dedicated years to the pursuit, has spent something like half a million to two million dollars to get there, has completed the level itself while aboard Scientology’s private cruise ship the Freewinds, and now has the superhuman powers of cause over matter, energy, space, and time. Continue reading Scientology celebrates the sheer competence of a superpower OT 8, and so will we

We are still hearing from Scientologists (current and former) about an effort by the church, in the years between about 2015 and 2019, to saddle members with huge debts by deceptively opening new credit card accounts for them, and from Chase Bank in particular. We were going through a pile of early Scientology materials and ran across a 1966 account of his African travels from L. Ron Hubbard that we found particularly entertaining. It has been posted to the Internet before, but we don’t think we’ve discussed it here at the Bunker. We do remember a few years ago reacting to an account of Hubbard’s time in Rhodesia as told by his official biographer, Dan Sherman, and that was a riot. But this is Hubbard’s own version of his time there, and it is filled with howlers. But aside from his tall tales, we find it a striking assertion by Hubbard, that the way to foil enemies was to “put in ethics” — in other words, establish Scientology control through intimidation. We’d like to get your thoughts on Hubbard’s assertions in this piece. Continue reading Scientology’s global conquest: Founder L. Ron Hubbard stressed ‘put in ethics’ to foil enemies

This new flier from Scientology was just too good not to share with you all this New Year’s weekend. Continue reading TODAY: Scientology wants you to make a resolution to fork over every penny in 2022

Another year of the damn pandemic, and another year without a Howdycon. Yes, we have reasons to be glad to see the last of 2021. But on the other hand, this was a particularly strong year here at the Underground Bunker in terms of new sources, new leaks, and fascinating new stories. Continue reading Scientology’s 2021: Another year is in the books at the Underground Bunker!

Our new inside source is back with another startling assessment of the state of Scientology right at this minute. He says David Miscavige is desperate after the attrition of two years of the pandemic, and now has one more Hail Mary to keep things going in 2022. This is fascinating stuff. Continue reading INSIDER: David Miscavige has one more trick planned to disguise Scientology’s sad state
