Ten years ago this week, we wrote about Derek Bloch for the first time at the Village Voice. He helped us tell the story of how he had been kicked out of the Sea Org as a teenager and then disowned by his own family when he revealed that he was gay. In the years since then he’s helped us expose Scientology’s repugnant and baked-in homophobia. We thought the ten-year anniversary of our first story on him would be a good time to check in with him and see what he’s up to.
On Friday, Danny Masterson’s attorney Philip Cohen submitted a reply to the District Attorney’s argument that the That ’70s Show actor and Scientology celebrity should not be granted review by the California state supreme court in his rape case. We have that document for you to look at.
