Scientology’s apocalyptic ‘expansion’: A hint at the real story in a Brighton shiny moment

Brighton1

A number of our readers noticed that Scientology has been putting out gushing news about its unstoppable “expansion” in press releases that show up in the oddest places, like in a piece masquerading as a story that showed up in Digital Journal and in Jim Cramer’s news website The Street. We have to wonder at the people who might take such claims of Scientology’s growth seriously.

Yes, David Miscavige has convinced some of his followers to fork over huge amounts to pay for some new buildings, but these “Ideal Orgs” have replaced perfectly serviceable facilities and didn’t actually represent any growth in the movement. Meanwhile, the orgs and missions that haven’t gone Ideal are suffering as fewer and fewer people visit them.

We want to thank the tipster who has given us a glimpse of what’s going on in Brighton, England, for example. He sent us the photo above, explaining that a few years ago, the Brighton org was housed in the top floor of the building you can see on the left. And, at one time, it was a thriving concern on a busy street.

But that was years ago. What sort of shape is Brighton org in now?

Well, to find out, you’d have to notice this attractive advertisement as you were strolling through one of Brighton’s less glamorous areas…

Brighton2

And if you decided that you were, in fact, interested in a personality test, you’d need to negotiate your way down this alleyway, which doesn’t look sketchy at all…

Brighton3

And that would bring you to this totally welcoming store front. Well, it’s just a door really. Not a store front at all. More like a prison door, actually, but as prison doors go, it’s rather inviting, isn’t it?

Brighton4

Just imagine the straight up and vertical stats the Brighton org must be getting out of that traffic-stopping setup. England will be cleared in no time!

Babywatch, day ten: Lisa McPherson in Room 174

David Houghton, the Sea Org’s would-be dentist, made his final visit to Lisa McPherson’s room on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 28, 1995.

“She looked like she’d had a rough 24 hours,” he later told police. Houghton noticed that Lisa had bruises on her shins, like she’d been kicking something. Later that night, Houghton left to take his board exams, and never saw Lisa again.

Lisa’s caretaker, Valerie Demange, reported that Lisa had been violent the night before. But today, she was “calmer and looks very tired.” Valerie reported that at about 7 pm, Lisa had a protein shake and a glass of water, and took some herbs to help her sleep. After a bath, Lisa slept for a couple of hours.

“The ‘watch’ said she was quieter, but suspects it’s because she’s weak, in spite of protein drink,” says a report in the file.

OT: it’s a lovely rainy chilly late fall day here in Ohio, my favorite weather, and a great photographic subject. Taken from the treacherous back stairs which bucked me off on Thanksgiving Day.

I hope no one missed the reprint of the interview L. Ron Jr. did with Penthouse in 1983 – that an earlier poster to this site gave the link to –
    http://www.lermanet.com/scientologynews/penthouse-LRonHubbardJr-interview-1983.htm

Wish the expanding network of media that is now reporting on scientology would pay more attention to the history surrounding the cult, including the testimony of a son who was there at its inception and to recollect it all before he died…

“What a lot of people don’t realize is that Scientology is black magic that is just spread out over a long time period. To perform black magic generally takes a few hours or, at most, a few weeks. But in Scientology it’s stretched out over a lifetime, and so you don’t see it. Black magic is the inner core of Scientology –and it is probably the only part of Scientology that really works. Also, you’ve got to realize that my father did not worship Satan. He thought he was Satan. He was one with Satan. He had a direct pipeline of communication and power with him. My father wouldn’t have worshiped anything. I mean, when you think you’re the most powerful being in the universe, you have no respect for anything, let alone worship.”

    • Missionary Kid

While I believe a lot of the interview, LRH Jr. had some serious problems. Apparently, he worked for both sides, those anti and those pro $cientology. There’s evidence that he could possibly be one of the people who helped to persecute Paulette. I’d take the interview with a large grain of salt.

It does give a pretty good insight into LRH Sr.’s state of mind.

    • StudentOfLife

Because of the many new lurkers and newbies to the Bunker, I also think it’s a good idea to take the best YouTube videos and divide them by subject at some point, maybe we should ask Tony to do it as part of a post: in particular the Tanja Castle video story. Tanja was Captain Four Foot Thirteen’s personal secretary and her daring escape story stunned me. That video I posted late last night deserves as many views as anything I have ever seen to explain how evil Miscavige is. If no one thinks David Miscavige has a totally blackened heart after seeing that beautiful story with irrefutable proof of how Miscavige trys to buy silence as well as disregard any couples marriage commitment, then that person lacks human compassion. I would also like to see this second video translated about Tanja Castle. Someone else thought it important enough to tell it to their countryman in another language. The pictures of the foreign video alone made me cry knowing what I knew from the first video. Both are below. Everyone new should see this video. Just so you know the power of the Bunker, I posted this last night after it set me off when I returned last night and in 18 hours it has gotten nearly 8,000 new views (I was mad it only had 12K plus views) thanks to the Bunker no doubt (I did pass it around in a mass email, something I normally hate, lol…HINT!!!!!!!!). Here is the second one also and the pictures alone are worth a thousand words. Chris Shelton is also fast becoming very popular on the internet as the Bunker is more popular than many of us realize.

That’s the expansion they’ve been talking about.

One of the things I have been noticing is that the public just recently is viewing all these great YouTube videos en masse, probably due to Hurricane Leah. Every time a big event goes on, I notice a spike in viewings besides just the normal Bunker coverage. I bookmarked many of these videos in folders to send to friends or to assemble a detaled plan on how to get my OT2 friend out of LieIntology as she approaches OT3. I also have become aware that OT2’s fangs come out whenever I mention independent “Scientologists” one who I met last year and she demanded his name and info as if she was a crazed animal almost. It really spooked me out. I mentioned previously that I lost a potentially huge business deal when a famous Australian tennis player flew over here at great expense to form a tennis partnership with me and others until OT2 and OT5 threw the entire deal away after realizing she had studied motivational behavior under an SP and told her behind my back the deal was off and sent her back to Australia and I still have yet to apologize to her fully now that I know the real story of how I was told her mentor was dead agented and I brought her here only to introduce her to some whacko Scilons.
I’ve since started to realize that there might be likely more independent Scientologists than pure LieIntologists (the ones that study under David (he of the blackened heart and mustard seed size courage) Miscavige. I mention this because I ran into a second ex’er today on the courts in Ojai, only in for 18 months, or at least someone who still used ARC and other Scilon tools and said auditing did work except therapy was cheaper. When I asked what made them leave, it was the Christie King Collbran interview they accidentally watched on NBC Today show and I just found the video and she, incredibly, at least in 2010, still claims to be a Scientologist despite her defection and the fact that the cult really went after her publicly. I did a search for Christie King Collbran on the Bunker but nothing really came up.
Is she still part of the indie movement? I would assume as time went on and she realized how Hubbard was whacked she would eventually realize there are healthier ways to do “auditing” and such that serve the same purpose and don’t cost as much. Are there likely more independent Scientologists than LieIntologists (I know many of them are well intentioned, but they are trained to lie and can never criticize another Scilon).

    • pixie dust

Isn’t Christie Mike Rinder’s partner/wife? I have no idea if she still believes in scientology.

      • StudentOfLife

Now that I think about it, that makes sense. He remarried and has children too. Wow, this matrix and all the moving parts and the three degrees of separation between Scilons, even after they leave apparently, can be confusing. I notice Rathbun’s marriage stands out because he married a non-scilon, and the only reason her suit is moving forward and a real danger is she is one of the few to sue who is not a former Scilon and thus is not subject to all those NDAs and contracts giving up constitutional protections. The cabal of lawyers that hold this criminal syndicate up really have no conscience to just take money from DLHDM and not grow a heart to do the right thing and just say this is just plain wrong. No wonder lawyers have a bad name.

On a lighter note given it’s the season to be thankful, my daughter debated whether to become an attorney for that reason, but decided to specialize in intellectual property and patent law and finishes up law school in two weeks and has several job offers as an intern until she passes the bar. She can’t wait to graduate and find more time to examine the Bunker, as she just wrote me a great email indicating her disgust and horror at the Tabija Castle video. I guess not all attorneys have to be so blind to evil.

  • Fink Jonas

Brighton is almost a premonition, the followers will slide into secret places to yell at ashtrays, exorcise themselves and to submit to brutal interrogations for hours by an “ethics officer”….it would be so weird and ridiculous to be a scientologist they would have to meet in secluded places, of course any looser is welcome so we leave a small little sign at the corner if you dare to knock the door we will give you a passcode (8-8008) to punch in the number pad or speak a secret word (we come back!) into the speaker now you are in and remember “it is a honor to call yourself a scientologist” so you have to give all you got in exchange and…..blah blah blah you know the rest. But there they are almost hiding, and where is hiding on the tone scale I don’t know but I don’t think is very high.

    • scottmercer

Hiding is -8.0. Pretty dang low. (Says the Never-In.)

  • Margie8

Question: Is everyone approached and encouraged to join the sea org? Thanks ✌

    • daisy

From what I understand if you want to proceed up the bridge and can*t afford it, you can work for the sea Org and you can receive courses free. The catch 22 is that you have no free time to do courses.( If I am wrong somebody please correct me )

      • Sunny

HI Daisy, Sort of. People are promised that they will go up the Bridge in the Sea Org, but they seldom do.
Everyone who becomes a public Scientologist does get approached to join the Sea Org. They will determine early on if you are qualified or not. If so, they will push hard to get you to join. They push hard on the need to Clear the planet, and your own personal lives and needs are unimportant. Sometimes, but very rarely, there will be people “untouchable” by the Sea Org. Meaning they qualify but someone up higher does not want them in the Sea Org for one reason or another (such as whales who donate a lot of money. They would not be approached to join). But at the same time, lots of people have joined who were well off.

        • daisy

Thanks Sunny for clarifying. I knew I wasn’t the one to answer but no one else was.

          • MaxSpaceman

it’s not appalling. there is a sense in its usage, for countless people now, after so many years of lowering the degree of terribleness of that choice–

that in many conversations people will drop “… like Sophie’s Choice” for any situation that presents itself as a hugely difficult choice.

that’s just the way it is after 36 years of countless people using Sophie’s choice to illustrate the difficulty of myriad extraordinary choices.

no one, virtually, who I’ve heard do that, is in any way saying “it’s the same as Sophie’s Choice.” — no one. They’re saying, oh what an awful choice, so difficult to choose. Like that.

Drive to Orlando, fly to Cleveland after the Tournament.

    • Kestrel

Family first, but can you leave Cleveland for Orlando on the night of the 18th? I know I’m not alone in wanting to meet you.

      • Free Minds, Free Hearts

        I was thinking that also.

      • Kestrel

Delta has a flight that leaves Cleveland at 5:25pm and gets to Orlando at 9:30pm, if that helps.

        • Baby

I wish my Granddaughters would hurry and give me the exact date they are playing.. Come on kids.. Mimi has an emergency..

Cause you know I would fly to Cleveland then fly to Orlando..You are sweet Kes..

          • Kestrel

I plan on being in northern Ohio for the week before HowdyCon, and I’ll be in Sandusky (not far from Toledo) for at least a day – probably Thursday. I could pick you up in Toledo and drive you to Cleveland, if you still wanted to see them there, too.

            • Baby

Oh I just love you.. My kids aren’t in Toledo cause they will be in Florida.. I would fly straight to Cleveland..xoo thanks Kes..

    • Frodis73

Oh no! I seriously want to cry!! πŸ™ I was very much looking forward to meeting you live and in the flesh, lol. I am beyond disappointed, but totally understand that they come first. You will just have to get your ass up here some other time now.

    • MostEthicalPimp

      pfftt!

      • Baby

        Did you pffffft the scenerio..

        Or me Pimp?

        • MostEthicalPimp

          • Baby

hahah OK.. I needed that! Thanks Pimp.. I love your picture!

    • beauty for ashes

      Isn’t Howdycon June 17-19?
      Doesn’t Orlando have an airport?
      ******thinking positively for you*********

      • Baby

        IS it?? OMG is it?

        • Frodis73

Oh, yes. The 19th is the last day. Maybe you can come up late Thursday/early Fri and then leave early eve Sat?

          • Baby

OMG.. I feel so much better.. I will figure out.. I just text both granddaughters and asked them to give me the EXACT date they will PLAY.. not be there but PLAY their first game.

They are on different teams. ( Their mothers aren’t speaking..should be fun) but I googled the Tourney and it is 18-26..just waiting for them to text me back.. keep fingers crossed.

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for ya!!

        • Yes!! Frodis is right, you could even leave early Friday. Get there Thursday, I’ll be at the hotel then and at least 2 other Bunkerites too! πŸ™‚

          • Baby

I will figure something out..Tia.. really.. My Granddaughter texted me and said that they are having a meeting tomorrow about it.. so won’t know until tomorrow when they play their first game..

That was One baby.. My other one hasn’t gotten back with me yet.. xo

    • Free Minds, Free Hearts

I am so sorry! But at least you know that we at the Bunker always put family first.

    • Baby

And the stupid part of this is that I was going to see them in Toledo, Ohio..and drive to Cleveland.. So if I were in Ohio they would be in Florida.. OMG..

    • B4you

Bring your family.. Problem solved πŸ™‚

      • Baby

They will be in Florida B4.. playing VBall..

    • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

Oh, no! I know how much you would have loved to be there, Baby πŸ™

      • See below, it might work out!!! I replied to your email, if you didn’t get it, I’ll use an alternative email—my mail server is surly like me. πŸ˜€

        • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

          Yay!

      • Baby

Oh Betty.. I hope there is a way to go to both without hurting my granddaughters.. xo

    • Baby

NO spike.. the Topper goes Up his ASS NOT his head..

      Just teasing you..Perfect!

      • Spike Robinson

LOLOL! Well, why do you think he’s smiling? Where do you think that star went?

        • Baby

That’s Our Girl Spike.. You still in UK with Mr Atack?

          • Spike Robinson

not yet, unfortunately … there was some unpleasantness with my visa not being the right type. We’re waiting until the new year to straighten it out. All we need is a LOT of paperwork done, even MORE money, and then just pray that the British Home Office decides I’m not a threat to their economy.

You don’t even want to know what goes into allowing an American Citizen to work for a British Subject … it’s a freakin’ nightmare, seriously.

            • Kestrel

Just tell them it involves religion. Seems to work for others.

            • Baby

OH good idea Kestrel.. Transcribing Scripture.. yep

            • Spike Robinson

Yeah, not gonna work as we’ve both gone on public record as somewhere on the atheistic end of agnostic (not the same end, of course).

            • Spike Robinson

That said, the Foundation for Open Minds is a listed Charity, but since we’re relatively new, we have to still work up the required charts that other companies would already have. It comes of getting in on the ground floor of a good thing.

            • Baby

Good Gawd.. Put a Go fund me up.. even small amounts will add up.. Good Luck Darlin

            • Spike Robinson

Oh, I wish it were just money! It’s also the five hundred pound NON-REFUNDABLE application fee to find out you applied for the wrong visa, and no other way to find out if you’ve got it right but pay a company their gov’t has licensed to do such things, and even then, there’s no guarantees…

            • Frodis73

Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick! Sounds like a cluster f*ck of red tape.

            • Spike Robinson

yeah, that about sizes it up. πŸ™‚

            • Allie

Sounds like a major headache. How often do you have to do this, Spike?

            • Spike Robinson

just once to get the permission to go over there for a specified, set amount of time, then another time to get it extended indefinitely, then one has to renew every couple of years, I think. Once the Foundation gets off the ground, it should be no problem, and happily, the nature of my work means that e-commuting is possible. But still, I’d rather be able to shout down the hall about some question rather than making another question on the Ask When We Next Skype list…

            • Allie

Thanks for clarifying. It always seems to take a lot of effort when starting up a new venture.. Ah bureacracy and red tape. Don’t ya love it?
Hope it goes smoothly for you. Lots of deep breaths πŸ™‚

            • Spike Robinson

It’s really exciting. I’ll be sure to let folks know when Jon’s new book, which is sort of an opening salvo for the Foundation, comes out – it should be very soon. It focuses on the wider problems of undue influence – political spin, propaganda, advertising, as well as cult programming and radicalization.

It’s freaking brilliant work, and an amazing read.

            • stillgrace2

This is true … and it extends to Canada, too. I’ve been hassled and denied outrageously. Last time I swore I would never return to Canada for any reason.

            • Spike Robinson

Well, there is an upside to my adventure (which the Cranberry Drinking One had the temerity to refer to as my “Holiday in Heathrow”).

I now know that British jail cells must have access to a Torah, a Koran, a Bible, prayer rugs, prayer shawls, and the direction to Mecca carefully noted on the ceiling. Had I asked for a Witches’ Bible, I’m sure someone would have been dispatched to get one, though probably not a ritual athame. The toilets were clean and there was fruit and healthy snacks available, blankets on request and comfortable couches.

I also know that it is possible to have jetlag from the simple act of cross-Atlantic travel; even ending up in the same time zone as I started some forty hours later left me completely nonfunctional for a week.

But, best of all, I know I have friends all over the globe, and that I can survive through pretty much anything the universe throws at me.

            • stillgrace2

World travel does toughen one’s hide, doesn’t it? Your adventures sound more serious … the worse that happened to me was being put under house arrest, forbidden to leave my hotel until I provided additional documentation that guaranteed that I was the only person in the world that could conduct a certain electronics workshop in a Canadian Corporation. Probably didn’t help that I burst into laughter when they insisted that surely some Canadian citizen could teach it.

            • Spike Robinson

Well, we already have my “unique candidate” qualifications pretty well buttoned up. I think the only 2 people that qualify for the position as we’ve got it stated are me and Jon!

            • Supper Powers

Just steal Juicer’s identity to get in. NBD.

Would that I could! But unfortunately, the boss-fella has this thing about breaking the law… call him old fashioned, but just he won’t do it. He also has this annoying tendency to tell the truth, a fault I share, unfortunately.

And some people just don’t like it when you tell the truth; it confuses them.

  • ReallyMGM

Totally OT but I need suggestions: my iPad is reaching the limit for books on the Kindle app. I am looking at the Kindle Paperwhite that is on sale thru Monday. Any experiences with it? Pros? Cons? Condense this message if you are not interested.

    • stillgrace2

We’ve had three Kindles in our house since the product’s first release. Mr. Grace has the Paperwhite now and really likes it. I can’t bear to read on his Kindle because it makes my earlier model’s screen seem dark.
I’ve had good experiences with Kindle. If you have an Amazon Cloud account, you can store your books there, and transfer only your current 5-6 books to your iPad. It only takes seconds to move the books on and off your mobile devices from the Cloud.

      • ReallyMGM

tHx! It’s on my list to order before the deal goes away. Thanks bunker!

        • PlanetJ

I have the kindle fire HD..I love it! You can brows the internet on it too.

          • ReallyMGM

I have an iPad that i love but I want a dedicated reader device like a kindle that will hold more books and have a longer battery life. My friends have Fires and love them, too.

            • PlanetJ

I also have the older model paperwhite one..it has the keyboard at the bottom and has a long battery life, too. I use and love them both. You can’t go wrong with either one of them, imo.

    • Madison KinSmed

Love the Paperwhites! We’ve had Kindles since they were first introduced and at one time had 12 different family members with their own Kindle reader (not all Paperwhites). They’ve been pretty reliable and I still use a first generation Kindle keyboard ereader for accessing my brother’s libraries and a 3 year old Paperwhite for access ton one of my sister’s libraries. We’ve found the Paperwhites to be Dependable, easy to use, great for reading outside and in, love the font adjustment (great if you need reading glasses), lightweight and easy to slip into a purse or backpack (just don’t forget it if you put it in the seat pocket in front of you on an airplane).

Caveat: Kindle Fires? Not the best. We’ve had them since the first generation, too and have moved up to HDs and HDXs. Across the board, we’ve had multiple issues with the batteries and/or charging port. And Amazon’s Fire support has been less than stellar.

My Fire HDX 8.9 bricked last week – purchased in Feb 2014, died in Feb 2015, one week after the warranty expired. Amazon replaced with a “deal” on a refurbished 8.9, which is the one that just died. I won’t be replacing it with a new Fire. I’m using my iPad full-time. It’s not equivalent to the Fire experience by a long shot but I’m done with Amazon for tablets.

      • ReallyMGM

Thanks! This is what I wanted to know before I ordered. I am clouding everything now, but I want the ability for more books and a separate reader. thx,

    • Madison KinSmed

Wait. I just thought of something. Don’t Kindle app users have the ability to store their books in the cloud? I’ll be back. Going to do some research.

    • Madison KinSmed

On my iPad with the Kindle app if I hold down the image of the book cover I get a choice to remove from device. Then if I go to the left hand menu in the app there is my Library which includes all my books and I can chose to download them from the cloud. At the bottom of the Library screen you should have a “Cloud/Device” option. Do you have that?

  • beauty for ashes

Just wanted to share my OT win. Tried to listen to Allison’s interview but the audio from my laptop is awful and irritating. A while ago I asked for help here when I stepped on my headphone chord and broke the jack so that no headphones ever worked again. The solutions were a bit pricey. However today when I checked, I got free shipping and 50% off for ones that hook into my USB!!!!!!! Thank you kindly Bunker Techs!!!!!! <3 <3 <3

  • since i have a domestic violence piece of shit next door, it would probably be wrong of me to have my sarcastic xmas 1 minute door sign say ‘season’s beatings’ with a candy cane eh?? though that’s been on my list of ideas for several years……maybe i’ll just draw a sled with ‘get sleighed’…..or an old school xmas tree light with ‘get lit’….

    • phoebequeen

      LOL

    • Eileen

How about “Peace on earth”. They just won’t expect it.

      • Hi Eileen! I’m Miss Tia, and whereas I naively believe in the concept of peace on earth, there’s no way in hell I’m the type of person who would ever have something like that on their door! πŸ™‚ Last year I had ‘humbug’ written to look like a middle finger. In other years I’ve had:

        A grinch saying “Grinch Off”
A gingerbread man with a bite out of him saying “Bite Me”
An angry snowflake saying “Flake Off”

So no, Peace on Earth, is not my style. I also don’t really care what the neighbors think—they know me πŸ™‚ And if the domestic violence piece of shit thinks something is directed towards him, I’ll paint the domestic violence hotline # on my house. (I really would do that too, one year I let the hood kids paint on my house for halloween—whatever they wanted, I didn’t care and yes parental unit permission was gotten beforehand and they had to swear they’d never paint on someone else’s house)…..

i’m very festive here….my xmas cookies are made with a bat cookie cutter (the only one i have) so i have a batty christmas….it fits….

        • Frodis73

I so want to live on your street.

        • beauty for ashes

I vote for a resurgence of the ginger bread man!

        • Sherbet

I’m going to go out on a limb here, Tia, and I’m going to preface it with the fact that I like and enjoy you. BUT: You took exception to daisy’s “Sophie’s Choice” remark because it’s a serious story, not related to whether a grandmother misses her grandkids’ tournament. You believe daisy is choosing an image that’s way too dark for the subject matter. Yet you want to try to make a point about your domestic violence situation next door by making a Christmas-related pun coupled with what the POS next door has been doing (“season’s beatings”). Not funny, not appropriate to the season of joy, too violent. My opinion, and I’m outspoken. Please reconsider trying to teach your neighbor a lesson in this way.

As for your Halloween painting spree, I admire that. It was cool and crazy.

Please don’t be upset with me. This is my opinion, and nobody needs to agree with me.

          • i’ve wanted to do season’s beatings for awhile–since before they moved in…..my quandary is that he’d probably think it’s directed towards him, when it most certainly is not…..there’s no way/how to teach him a lesson—i mean you have numerous convictions, been in jail lots of times and he hasn’t learned a thing…..and it’s very sad that she has taken him back for 20 years…..i feel bad for HER……

the issue with daisy—and i debated actually posting that reply to her, but i know how her response would go and that wouldn’t end up ending well—goes deeper than her inappropriate comment this evening and i’ll leave it at that—–so seriously daisy, let’s LEAVE IT AT THIS, okay? but THAT comment tonight really struck me as ‘dafuq?’ hence the comment i made……

i DO understand what you are saying and i am of course not upset with you…..i hope you realize i wasn’t in anyway trying to teach him a lesson, or provoke him—i most certainly do NOT want to do that!!!! that idea has been jotted down for several years, probably longer than that……and if i DID do ‘season’s beatings’ and he DID think it was directed towards him, yeah i would paint the domestic violence # on my house……not that she’d ever call it…..i think i thought of one though, but i dunno if i can draw it…..i know with the candy cane i also had ‘get caned’ as an alternative idea……

the kids LOVE painting the house….and of course it stayed up ALL winter too!! and now those kids are adults (uh how did that happen?) and they STILL remember that…..

            • Sherbet

In this scary and violent world, I like to fan any ember of peace I can find. The Christmas season may be crazy and way too commercial, but it’s sort of all some people can grab onto as a symbol of simplicity, kindness, peace, joy. That’s all. That’s my point. You are not me, and I am not you, and we follow our own hearts and ideas.

            • I do weird holiday signs. Always have. I don’t WANT him to think it’s directed towards him though…..hence why ‘season’s beatings’ isn’t already on the door……i think i thought of something else though…..i might use a shit load of glitter and spend more than 1 minute!!!

            • Sherbet

You definitely march to a different drummer. As for the neighbor, I hope he moves away and solves the problem.

            • the APD is trying to catch him driving as that will land his ass in jail……(driving on suspending license, license revoked for 6 years now)…of course he’s on probation for pistol whipping her……but probation has done jack shit—he’s to be drugged tested and tested for booze but he drinks beer every day–about 10 cans of bud ice (the 22 oz cans) and also smokes pot….and he’s not suppose to be around her, but he lives with her…..of course i won’t hold probation responsible for THAT as she picked him up from jail…but they could at least drug/booze test him!!!

i know that house will be vacant eventually!! she might end up back in jail too—she has a lot of convictions of shop lifting…..felony shop lifting……SMDH…..

            • daisy

You don’t get to say nasty things about me and then threaten me into not sticking up for myself . Feel free to foot bullet away.

            • wow, amazing how your apostrophe button is working now…..please tell me what nasty things i said about you above….due tell…..and i threatened you? no, i did not…..i said we should leave it….how am i gonna foot bullet….wanna explain that too?? Come on, please explain yourself…..

no, no you know what……don’t answer i think we should just LEAVE IT….. I really think leaving it is a good option….and i’m GIVING YOU that option……if you wish to continue, then by all means, but no one can’t say i gave you several opportunities to LEAVE IT….you’ve already provoked me twice…..last time i got a little irked…..this time i might get a little more irked….i think we should LEAVE IT….and once again, you should read for comprehension as what you think i said above didn’t transpire…..and i have every right to think to myself ‘DAFUQ’ with your sophie’s choice comment……

this conversation between should cease…..we should LEAVE IT……

            • Eileen

The term “Sophie’s choice” has moved beyond the literal meaning in the book. It now is used to mean a choice where neither decision feels right “caught between a rock and a hard place”. I think you should let Daisys remark pass in peace.

            • I didn’t know that—I don’t get out much. Thanks Eileen! I learned something today! πŸ™‚

            • Eileen

You are very welcome, I’ve learned from you too!

It makes some Bunkerites uncomfortable, too. There’s room for both of you. Each of you adds to the Bunker in different ways. You ladies have to let this go, and concentrate on real evil, which is scientology.

            • I was asking her to LEAVE IT and once again she misconstrued it and now she’s calling me names?? o_O

            • Sherbet

I said the other night I was attacked unfairly by someone months ago in this blog. I don’t forget it, and it still stings. When I see that person, I say nothing. That person probably is still pissed at me, and I can’t get over what that person said to me. Ignoring works.

            • I just refreshed and I see she edited a comment. I did not see that until I hit refresh. Disqus sucks!!! We can ALL agree on that (I hope and if not, well that’s fine too) I have been fine ignoring them. I only mentioned them replying to you, to fully reply to you (if that makes any sense at all–probably night, i’m tired and my ribs hurt). Yes, ignoring does work!!!

            • Oh, you’re calling me names now? When have I called YOU a name? I said nothing about your auto correct. YOU said when you got your computer back that your apostrophe key no longer worked and it defaulted * instead of ‘. Should I get the screen grab of the comment where you made that claim?

I have NEVER threatened to expose you or embarrass you. Tell me when I said that. I was giving you the option—since you are unable to comprehend what I wrote—to LEAVE THIS before it got nasty. To drop it. Do you understand that? I don’t know how else to make it clearer. You do a great job embarrassing yourself, no one needs to do that and I can’t ever see myself purposely embarrassing someone, that would be cruel.

            • Sherbet

              I give up.

            • I don’t understand and now I’m confused. Did I miss something?

            • Sherbet

Just what I was saying below: Peace. Can we have peace. I wish you peace, and I wish daisy peace. Amen.

            • I know what I missed—-there was an edited comment that I didn’t see until I refreshed the page. I don’t wish anyone on the board any ill will, never have.

            • you might have too…..i saw the last sentence she added to her original comment—-i was going to go be ‘peaceful’ and remove my comment and replace it with ‘removed to keep the peace’…..

            • daisy

I will try to be good. I should have walked away.

        • Jenny Daniels

          LMAO, sweet Miss Tia!
Your bat cookie cutter is perfect!
One year my daughter-in-law and I did a “Nightmare Before Christmas” themed house and tree, (we all find Christmas a bit overboard!) Her favorite holiday is Halloween and I prefer to ignore virtually all holidays- it was the Best Christmas decorations and spirit ever!
          Keep up the good work!

          • Christmas is BATTY!!! πŸ™‚ And gee, Christmas bats, why not?? I guess I’ve always liked to challenge the social norms πŸ˜‰ I like Halloween too!!

    • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

Tia, you need to get some of these πŸ™‚ F5

      • HAH!!! Well, the sign isn’t to be DIRECTED towards them next door!!! Obviously they’ll see it though!! Twat is good though! πŸ™‚

    • Liberated

Go with the season beatings sign ,it’s perfect.

      • i shouldn’t be encouraged!!! πŸ˜€ thanks!!

        • Liberated

Yes you should. I have a lot to say on the subject of domestic abuse. I have been a victim ( I know that’s a dirty word) and I have just recently become free. The final straw was him slamming me to the floor and me blacking out. I was compelled by a force greater than myself to call the police. I did, and he proceeded to deprive me of every human right possible. Took my car, no cell phone , no computer, and even screwed with my cable. He also managed to convince everyone around me I asked for it . At the court hearing tried to tell the judge I ran into to him .Don’t ever give these pieces of shit a break .Don’t ever go easy on them. Did I mention he’s 6′ 3″ and CLEAR.

          • daisy

That is so terrible, I am so glad you got free.

          • Oh my stars!!!! I’m so glad you’re free!!! You’re a SURVIVOR!!!! But there’s nothing wrong with the word victim. You WERE victimized!!! I hope you’re getting the help and support you need to recover from this! ((hugs))

            • Liberated

I know there’s nothing wrong with the word victim. The criminal is the one who hates it. Don’t ever underestimate The power of the sociopath. They can be so very charming and so very convincing. I could write a book. And as for help and support—-please. That piece of scrum turned my own son against me I’ve had no one . You certainly know who your friends are, the only people who helped me are a couple. of kind neighbors.

            • oh i’ve been exposed to a few psychopaths, unfortunately!! that’s just horrible Liberated!! Thank goodness for kind neighbors!!!

            • Liberated

I just wanna tell you how bad it was——after one of his many psychotic episodes he said I owed him an apology.

            • Juicer77

How incredibly awful that you went (are going) through this. I’m glad your neighbors were ready to help you. Will send good thoughts that things get better.

    • mon elle

I think your sled alternate is “time for some wintertime slaying” …. Decorate with any Halloween ghouls seemed relevant…

      • one year i kept up halloween ghosts when one of the hood kids said “those could be ghosts of christmas pasts”…that was brilliant!! πŸ™‚

Question for exes: if you reached the state of Clear, were your “ethical and moral standards high, your ability to seek and experience pleasure great? Was your personality heightened and were you creative and constructive? Did you have a flawless memory and the capacity to perform mental tasks at unprecedented rates of speed.” (Paraphrased from Wright’s Going Clear)

If not, how did you explain the discrepancy to yourself?

And what exactly is a “heightened personality”? How are “ethical” and “moral” defined by Hubbard?

Thank you for your help in clarifying these concepts for me.

    • Chee Chalker

That EXACT SAME thing happens to me after a couple of glasses of wine! And it’s much cheaper than going clear.

      • daisy

ROAR This is such a funny group

I just wanted to stop in and tell you that you are loved,Daisy! xoxo

You too, dear friend. You have always been kind to me..and I appreciate you! Hugs to you. <3

    • Baby

Maddie.. They believe that ” They Pulled it in..” Everyone is acting wonderfully on the outside. On the Inside they doubt..

NOT doubt Scn. Tech.. But they Doubt themselves and feel like a fraud because it works for everyone else, but them.. And they ARE NOT allowed to discuss it with another soul..

If they tell their doubts to their Auditor.. Sec Checked and it would cost a fortune.. so people end up lying to themselves and the Auditor.

    • Thankfully, I did not go Clear, even though I wanted to (lowly staff member).
I did work with some Clears and OTs though, some of them are no longer scientologists.
Per my observations and their own testimonies, the answer to all your questions is – No.
Just regular folks, but in a cult. Some are more charismatic and talented, some are less.
Some are in need of real pro med and psy help.

I know some non- scientologists who are healthier, wealthier, saner, happier than most OT VIIIs.

    • daisy

Maddie have you seen the Tom Cruise 9 min. interview ( black turtle neck ) ? To my non-sci eyes this was a perfect example of heightened personality. Any testimonials are the same.

    • B4you

Those who attest, this or that! has a huge expectation over there head. They are informed, that it is expected by everyone, that you shine bright and make it big, in order to show of $cientologys finest product (Clear). Also the ethics-gradient is raised a few bars. If an OT7 breaks the rules, he has to turn himself in at Flag (Florida) no matter where he lives on the planet. Also there is a rule that you must not enturbulate (ask stupid questions) to Clear,s and you have to be nice to them! Doh! So they are basically floating around in admirations from the minions. Those Clear’s i have asked, all tell that there is nothing physiological happening in there body/brain/mind and it is all a consideration or a postulate one has to recognize.

I think most people have a memory of a “Clear” day? where everything just goes right and lot’s of fun with birds in the skie etc. for no apparent reason at all, other than it was a good day! This is what is expected from Auditing but it has absolutely nothing to with $cientology, it was just one of those memorable days. I could sell $cientology like mad, if they just could deliver that – but they can’t.

You can have “flawless memory and the capacity to perform mental tasks at unprecedented rates of speed” and you probably already experienced that yourself. But not every day! They, on the other hand, enforces this “heightened personality” so it becomes hysterical and frantic.

I could tell you about specific Mental experience i had, but i could also just tell you about a dream i woke up from. If you are daydreaming (literally); all sorts of OT phenomenons will appear, but only in you head.

What a hopeful young $cio dream’s off and believe will happen is best illustrated by seeing the movie “Phenomenon” with JT, except for the brain-tumor part πŸ™‚

      • Madison KinSmed

Thank you! I think I get it now. I think I’ve gone clear many times in my life and I didn’t have to pay a cent for it. And if the personality thing is what Tom Cruise does in his maniacal video, no thanks!

        • B4you

You got it! A few beer’s could do it, even LRH wrote about this. But it does not last and you have to get more and more.

    • salin

      Love you, Baby.

In an alternate universe, we are still watching the sun go down together, relaxing, with you giving comfort as I try to comprehend how much my world turned upside down this week. (Thanks for the comforting image and message last night.)

In the current universe, you know where you need to be next June (specific dates pending). I don’t need to tell you that – clearly you have your priorities.

Forgive me while I am a little self-indulgent, right now -and it relates: Mom sat through seemingly endless soccer matches (where the team was way over powered), and long swim meets. The memories built were part of the glue of her bonds with each of the grand kids. Yesterday when we gathered for a family memorial, it was clear that those moments of presence were important – and had led to additional precious moments for both each grandchild and Mom. Heart-busting (in the moment of such recent loss of my Mom) beauty in the special memories of the next generation (her grand kids.)

Like you this wasn’t the old model of families where the grandmother lived in the same town and was ever present. Time and opportunity is precious.

I *so* want to meet you in person. But that is trumped by how much I value for you, your children, and your grandchildren, the event – and the moments that are a part of it, and the precious memories.

      • Sherbet

salin, you’re showing remarkable grace. Hugs.

        • salin

Sherb, thanks. Taking those hugs – they are great boosters. See my note to Daisy in this subthread. You and the bunker have given me an outlet for distraction (reading Tony’s writing, and then comments) while I needed it – and a source of emotional support, that I could not have imagined in terms of how deep and how helpful until I needed it.

          • Sherbet

There sure are a lot of nice people in the Bunker, aren’t there! You’ve been kind to people, so people are kind to you. Distraction is good, too. Lots to read and smile about, lots of different personalities here, always something interesting going on.

            • salin

You captured it. Thank you, and good night Sherb, hugs.

      • daisy

You are a beautiful lady., my heart aches for you.

        • salin

Thanks, daisy. I feel that hug in your message, and appreciate it. A week ago tonight, it was a ‘normal’ day for Mom and I. I went to bed having no idea that my world would change in the morning. Thankfully, the script that played out, as hard as it was for me (more time!) – was what she wanted. Peaceful. Dignified. Surrounded by her family.

          • aquaclara

Time for a group hug. Hope you’re hanging in there, Salin. Your mom had to be at peace with you there….she is now watching out for you, just as you took care of her. Take care, ok?

            • salin

*lump in throat* thank you. In this (awful) week, I have learned I have so many resources – friends, family, neighbors (family home = 50+ years), and the most unexpected – and personally valuable – the Bunker support.

            • Draco

((((HUgs)))) to you, Salin. I know your loss. Good memories help – my Mom and I shared a wacky sense of humour and I often think of the times we just rolled around laughing at silly stuff. I most often feel her presence in the kitchen. She was a wonderful cook and that was her happy place. xxx

            • salin

*Appreciating the group huge* . – Yes, the unexpected sources of support all signal she is now watching out for me.

          • PlanetJ

Hugs Darling..I’m so sorry for your loss. <3 xoxo

      • ReallyMGM

Salin, I am so sorry for your loss. Hold close your memories. The days will come when you no longer look back with sorrow and tears, but smiles and happiness because of the love you shared. {{{hugs}}} dear friend

      • Free Minds, Free Hearts

That is beautiful, salin. Through your words and memories I can feel what a wonderful person your mom was, loving you and giving you a strong foundation of love to share with others. I am so sorry that you have lost her, but I know that her memory is alive in your heart.

      • Baby

My foot is still wrapped around yours while we lay on our pillows beside each other..Salin..and my foot won’t let go until you tell me to..

as I have every day since your mama fell ill.

Oh I agree..I want to meet my fellow Bunkeroos, but if it comes down scheduling absolutely my Grandchildren come first..and my daughters of course. Just no question about it.

I will just have to send my heart to Cleveland. Wait..I need it for my grandkids..take my kidney.. love you sweet woman.. Love baby..

  • daisy

Fat beagle is snoring.I wonder if those breath right strips work. I cannot afford a sleep apnea machine. Good night everybody.

    • ReallyMGM

I miss my beagle (she’s been gone a few years). While my plans have been a new black miniature poodle, a beagle would be nice and much less grooming.

      • Baby

I’ve had both.. Personally I vote for the Beagle.. so sweet.. and you are right the grooming is minimal ..and they are very smart!

      • daisy

I adopted her. I have never had a hound before. She is a lot of laughs, and a big handful. She has literally taken a bone right out of the mouth of Mom*s Shitz zu. I have said this before, I have tried to body shame her , pleaded and begged and she will not give up her obsession with food. When she wants attention she lays right over the key board. Nat shooped this picture. It looks exactly like she would as a puppy.

    • Jo

Never heard of a sleep apnea machine. Googling it now. Mr Jo started working weird 12hr shifts. Doubt it will drown out that kids voice next door, fondly known as Satan. I swear her head spins around, when she’s talking, the dog don’t like her too. Thankfully weather is terrible now and the back garden is peaceful.

      • daisy

The machine isn’t really for snoring, although it helps. It forces air into your lungs if you stop breathing. 12 hr. shifts brutal. Not sleeping well on top of that, that’s bad if you are rooting for bad weather.

      • Observer

CPAP. It’s an acronym, but I don’t know for what.

    • Juicer77

Laughing hysterically picturing breathe right strips on beagle flews!!! That’s a lost cause. XD

    • MostEthicalPimp

I’m luckily to have had jaw surgery which also helped to open up my airway. No Snoring and sleep so much better. Surgeon felt I probably had sleep apnea or Hypopnea but since I needed the surgery for reasons like TMJ which is also much improved. There was no reason to do a through Diagnosis… I really pray you find solution! (Also,Stupid cult, I think If my parents weren’t members. I would have had my Jaw fixed earlier!)

      • PlanetJ

I have TMJ..but I wont let them break my jaw. It scares me to even talk about it..lol

        • MostEthicalPimp

I felt the same way before I got my consultation. I thought no way. I actually planned to down play my symptoms. But my surgeon was just so caring and confident that I decided to do it.

  • Jo

Has anyone photoshopped Welcome to Terminus, on those Brighton pics? Must learn how to shoop, it’s looks complicated.

    • Douglas D. Douglas

If Brighton was the welcome to Terminus, it would have to be somewhere beyond the entrance to the Dianetics Center. There is an appropriate sign to paint on that door, though…

  • Liberated

I know this is a stupid question, but can someone tell me the proper way to clean an iPad screen? Thanks.

    • pixie dust

I clean mine with a barely damp cotton cloth, then lightly buff with a dry one.

    • Douglas D. Douglas

      Just use newspaper and vinegar…

      (That’s a tip from Source!)

    • Jenny Daniels

Please DON’T spray anything at all on the screen!
Take a lint free (microfiber or glasses lens cleaner cloth) and spray a little eyeglass cleaner on the cloth. Gently apply “elbow grease! This should do it although Apple makes a screen cleaner spray, but the aforementioned should be good enough. In a real pinch, you can spray a tiny bit of Windex on a paper towel (or cloth as noted above) and gently rub.

    • Zeruel (Sebastian)

Rub it against the front of your shirt?

    • Jo

Mr Sheen and a soft cloth, prob not good advice.

    • ReallyMGM

Those soft cloths that come with eyeglass cases work well. Liquid is bad. Been there, done that. (Maybe a teensy spritz on the cloth, but never on the screen)

    • romanesco

You can buy tissues specifically intended for that purpose. The point is supposed to be that the tissues will not scratch the surface. So you can spend that money if you like, but since about 1985 I have been using regular Kleenex soaked in a little rubbing alcohol to clean all monitors including LCD and have never experienced any scratching. The alcohol dries quickly, reducing risk of fluid leaking into working parts, which can cause damage, and seems to pick up more debris and smudge marks than other products.

I think there’s a special i-ncantation you have to chant, while shoving money under the door of the newest Apple Lounge and kissing a picture of Steve Jobs. πŸ˜‰ Just kidding. Wipe gently with a soft cloth (make sure it’s grit free). ReallyMGM has the right idea with the eyeglass cleaner.

      • SuppressedPerson

That’s about right! Saying I don’t like Apple in mixed company is as bad as admitting I don’t believe in any gods, myths or pseudo-science.

    • do not use any spray with solvents in – especially alcohol… see pic

        and don’t do this (F5)

  • ReallyMGM

Btw, thanks for the advice on the Amazon Paperwhite book reader. I received some good feedback from bunker users that helped me make up my mind, and also steered me away from not-so-good products. Thx bunkeroos!

    • Todd Tomorrow

I just got a Ipad Pro and besides being a psycho fast, multi faceted computer it is easy on the eyes over my kindle, which I passed onto my sister.

      • B4you

I think MGM is on to a dedicated reader and that my friend! Not even an iPad can do that.
But boy! I would give my mom away for an iPad Pro.

    • Juicer77

I have the Kindle Fire (it was a gift) and I absolutely love it. Enjoy your new toy!

      • Todd Tomorrow

Thx, I got one of those Kindle Fires for a fellow Bunkeroo for their birthday. They love to read and what a great price on black Fri.

        • daisy

Are you ever going to let us know the identity of this fellow bunkeroo.?

          • Todd Tomorrow

It has been going on for quite sometime and we don’t we haven’t really discussed it. I think a few people have it figured out. I never thought I’d ever meet someone on the internet! Sweet, nice, cute smart…

Tell them you’re buddhist. Works like a charm here – they come around a least once a year.

    • Nat-leficent

I always tell them that their disfellowshipping policies are repugnant and I wouldn’t want to be part of a group that breaks up families in that way.

      • Newiga

Some of my family members are in that particular group. They rarely visit their “worldly” relatives but when they do, the conversation often turns into efforts to convert us.

Additionally, I had a couple of “sisters” visit me on a regular basis. We had some pretty interesting conversations about religion etc. (well, as much as you can have a conversation without “scaring” them). Their visits suddenly stopped when my friend (who is a man) was crashing on my couch to catch a plane the next day opened the door to them.

        • And I’m Cute, Too

They rarely visit their “worldly” relatives but when they do, the conversation often turns into efforts to convert us.

Ugh. The area where I live seems to be overrun by Nichiren Buddhists. Every meeting with them has turned into an effort to convert me. Occasionally, some stranger strikes up a conversation, asks me to tea or lunch, and I think I’ve made a new friend. An hour or so later, I’ve been forced to hear the Nichiren spiel yet again, and I walk away feeling used.

So sorry you have to put up with that from family.

          • Newiga

Thanks but they’ve been JW as long as I can remember. I only feel bad for cousin who has hinted that he wants to leave but cannot because of his parents. πŸ™

          • SuppressedPerson

Ugh! How un-Buddhist! Why do they desire that you convert? Shouldn’t they be setting aside desires and wants? Gotta love the hypocrisy of these crazy cults!

I sincerely believe that Patti Levin of “The Leftovers” is and was the second coming of L. Ron Hubbard.

    That is all.

    • romanesco

I’ll qualify that by saying there’s no fucking way Hubbard could have survived on Jeopardy for one day, let alone three, and I’ll eat my head if he ever knew where Khasakstan is.

    • JaxNGold

      Laughter!! Love that show.

  • B4you

OT: Nicolas Cage is completely unaware that he is an actor. All he knows is strange men with cameras follow him around while he gets into crazy situations and money shows up randomly in his bank account.

    • romanesco

An old roommate of mine said she met him in a bar in San Francisco. She was way cute, so I believed her. I mean, that somebody like that would be likely to hit on her.

      • B4you

i find him extremely borring. No offence Nicolas!

        • romanesco

I liked him in “Vampire’s Kiss.”

          • B4you

haven’t seen it! The only movie where his pokerface makes sense is Lord of War.

            • romanesco

He was running around going, “I’m a vampire! I’m a vampire,” while trying to chase pigeons down and bite them. It didn’t work out too well, so he went to a shop and purchased some cheap vampire teeth. He didn’t feel like paying for the more expensive and effective ones, even though he could have afforded them.

            • SuppressedPerson

Now that sounds like a good use of Nic Cage! I loved him from years ago in Wild at Heart, but I guess it’s been all down hill for him from there. He’s just become a bit of a joke. Very sad! Maybe he should stick with camp and character roles.

            • romanesco

Probably. As I understand it, the only reason he was able to get into acting is that he’s related to the Coppolas.

  • TheMirrorThetan

Chris did a great job explaining it and how it moves the cult’s indoctrination along.

  • JaxNGold

    Tony, you’re hysterical….

“..you’d need to negotiate your way down this alleyway, which doesn’t look sketchy at all..”

  • It’s weird seeing two kids who have been labeled “clear”. That was a rare occurrence when I was in Scientology. ” Clear” was an adult thing because of the money it would cost to get there. Even stranger that people who are on staff had enough time on their hands to actually get auditing to Clear. Maybe they’re just so lacking in people to service they actually had the opportunity.

  • Santina L Crolla

Haha, the uk doesn’t recognise scientology as a religion. To be honest, it’s quite a joke over here. It’ll never happen, thank God!! Been reading all these stories which are truly heartbreaking. I’m rooting for you guys & thank you for sharing you’re experiences.Much love from Manchester England πŸ™‚
