An email that demonstrates how much Scientology loves going after the ‘evil psychs’

Ken_KramerScientologist Ken Kramer (pictured) is on a mission. For several years, he’s run a website, psychsearch.net, that uses public record searches to collect stories about psychiatrists who have broken the law in some way.

That fits with Scientology’s hatred for psychiatry, embodied in its most goofy front group, Citizens Commission on Human Rights, which runs a museum in Hollywood, and sends out mobile museum displays, which blame the Holocaust on “evil psychs.”

CCHR tries to insert itself in local government debates about mental health issues, as we saw recently in Texas. (Kramer does the same, as can be seen in this news clip that he hosts at his own website.) CCHR pretends to be a legitimate public interest group, but never really gets around to admitting that it’s just a front for Scientology and its founder, L. Ron Hubbard, who told his followers that psychiatrists come from the planet Farsec and have been implanting thetans (our immortal souls) with evil mental image pictures for billions of years.

Details.

Kramer has some pretty interesting ideas about why psychiatry is so bad for the world. “Gays now rule Psychiatry,” he complains in one interesting piece he wrote at his website.

We doubt that the psychiatry profession cares very much about CCHR or Mr. Kramer and his website. But we thought you’d enjoy the language that Kramer uses in an email he just sent out about his website expanding…

PsychSearch.net identified every psychiatrist in the USA and then launched a research project that continues to this day. The project involves continuous contact with each state to obtain records of “psychiatrists in hot water”.

This has now developed into the largest collection of public records on USA psychiatrists in existence.

Over the years, we’ve often heard from folks outside the USA: “Are you going to do this in our country?”

“No plans at this time” was always our answer.

Until now. A generous Canadian has now suggested that PsychSearch expand its horizons to the Great White North! Brrr…. So, we’ve decided to start providing records on Canadian psychiatrists! Oh Canada! We’re going to light up those psych records with some sunshine! – Oh yahh, you betcha!

Hover your mouse over “USA Psychiatrists” here: http://www.psychsearch.net/ That is where you will soon see the Canadian records appearing.

There are 14 Canadian provinces and territories and the Canuck’s have one-tenth the number of psychiatrists as opposed to the USA. So, the speed at which we investigate and buy the Canadian records (and then put online) depends only upon the continuing financial support the Rulers of Hockey can provide.

We should make good fast progress on this project, eh?

And to you generous souls in other English speaking countries – Australia, England, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales:

Who’s next after Canada?

We sent a message to Mr. Kramer asking for a comment about his expansion into Canada, and also to expand on his piece about gays running psychiatry. We’ll let you know if he gets back to us.

Scientology’s statement about Cathriona White is hilarious

“A Scientology spokesperson” (Hi, Karin!) told Page Six and E!Online that we were somehow in the wrong for reporting the news that before she took her own life, Cathriona White — the on-again, off-again girlfriend of comedian Jim Carrey — had been a Scientologist.

“Saying that somebody was studying Scientology in the past and connecting that to a suicide is like saying a person who had previously studied the Bible committed suicide. It is sad and reprehensible that a paid anti-Scientologist like Tony Ortega is exploiting this terrible tragedy involving a young woman: It’s a sign of outright bigotry.”

Well, thanks for confirming that Cat White was a Scientologist, Karin. The rest is just noise, of course.

Bonus items from our tipsters

Says our tipster: “Seth Green shilling for Scientology acting school? When Milton Katselas fell out of grace around 2007, three Scientologists — Eric Matheny, Christopher Smith, and Jim Meskimen started The Acting Center. Reportedly, Matheny was allowed to see Hubbard’s unpublished writings on acting stored at Gold Base, and based on Matheny’s notes, the three of them came up with this place. The basic philosophy is ‘no invalidation or evaluation’ — just let people find their own way through a series of drills. An example: The instructor says ‘Be a cop’ (or baker or senator). The student just ‘be’s.’ Says nothing. Does nothing. The instructor says ‘Thank you.’ That’s it. Kind of like learning piano by letting someone bang on the keys a few hours a week with no feedback.”
