We have a video from CCHR International this week featuring staff members Eitan Celender and Rev. Fred Shaw. The Citizens Commission for Human Rights is a Scientology front that has agitated against the psychiatric profession since 1969, and is easily Scientology’s most brazen and unhinged front group. Continue reading VIDEO: Scientology shill admits infiltrating NAACP to forward crusade against psychiatry

From our perch here in the United States, it’s simply bizarre to see what is happening to journalist Steve Cannane in Australia. What he’s going through could never happen here, and we want to try and explain to you what we mean by that. Continue reading Steve Cannane wrote the book about Scientology in Australia — and now he’s on trial
[Mayor Eric Garcetti and his police chief, Mike Moore]Just a few days ago, Leah Remini spoke to us after the Clearwater Police dropped its investigation of child sexual assault at a Scientology school in Florida, resulting in the victim, who goes by ‘Jane Doe,’ asking her attorneys to drop her lawsuit against the church. Continue reading What’s $20,000 between friends? LA Mayor Garcetti presents a Scientology gift to city
[Wakley and Cardone, a match made in Arslycus]If motivational speaker Grant “10X” Cardone is Scientology’s “professional ham hock,” as we like to call him, then London Org’s Charlie Wakley is surely the movement’s aspirational pork product. Its British banger, as it were. Their online summit this week felt like some sort of minor cosmic shift in the Scientology firmament, and so we have thoughts. Continue reading Scientology’s hammy Grant Cardone and the political operator: A significant connection?

Our thanks to Rod Keller for spotting this one. He noticed that at a press conference last Thursday, Ohio’s popular governor Mike DeWine announced a new initiative to address Covid-19’s disproportionate effect on minority communities, and showed off a health kit that the state will be handing out which included a pamphlet with coronavirus information. It was clearly a pamphlet produced by the Church of Scientology. Continue reading Miscavige scores: Ohio Gov. DeWine to send out thousands of Scientology pamphlets
[Leigh Dundas, sudden Scientology star]Last year, the quarantining of Scientology’s private cruise ship the Freewinds for a case of measles had reporters scrambling to find out how the organization felt about vaccinations. Was the outbreak on the ship a sign that Scientology was part of the dumb anti-vaxx hysteria becoming so depressingly epidemic in this country? Continue reading Scientology’s rising new anti-vaxx star, coming to a ‘re-open’ protest near you!

A big part of Scientology’s allure for its members is their ardent belief in founder L. Ron Hubbard as a man who was larger than life. And part of his legend were the tall tales he told about his experiences in the Second World War. Historian Chris Owen, a regular contributor here at the Bunker, took apart Hubbard’s war myths with his excellent 2019 book Ron the War Hero: The True Story of L. Ron Hubbard’s Calamitous Military Career, an updated and rewritten version of his 1999 work. We asked Chris if we could publish an excerpt of his book for Memorial Day, and he sent us this superb peek inside his book about Hubbard’s claims about being injured in war versus the actual record. Continue reading On Memorial Day, Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard’s ‘stolen valor’: His bogus war injuries
[This illustration only makes sense to Scientologists]We have another leaked video of a webinar that was promoted to European Scientologists this week. In “The Evolution of Life: The True Story” by Barna Gombos we can see the anti-science nature of Scientology. Gombos denies the existence of evolution and the webinar is based on the writings of L. Ron Hubbard, starting with his definition of life as a combination of Theta and MEST. Continue reading VIDEO: Proof Scientology still promotes Hubbard’s bizarre ideas about evolution
[Saint Hill calling!]Phil Jones has waged war with Scientology since it ripped his family apart with its cruel ‘disconnection’ policy. You’ve read here about his campaign to place billboards in Los Angeles and Florida about disconnection, and about his involvement in a TV series that never aired. He’s a regular contributor here, and he and his wife Willie are two of the most inspiring ex-Scientologists we know, fighting against the church simply because they want to see their two grown children again, Emily and Mike, who are both committed Sea Org members. Continue reading AUDIO: Scientology recruiter says wrecked families small price for salvaged planet

Last year we talked to J.R. Biersmith, one of the filmmakers who had agreed to allow the Church of Scientology to show their movies on the “Documentary Showcase” at the Scientology TV network on DirecTV. Continue reading Even more filmmakers who are helping out Scientology with its TV network
