Yet another photo of Tom Cruise at the recent Scientology annual IAS gala in England hit social media today, and this is the best one yet that unambiguously shows the actor making the scene under the big tent in East Grinstead, England.
We’ve been pointing out repeatedly that there’s plenty of evidence that Cruise is just as dedicated to Scientology as ever, despite what some tabloids ardently seem to wish, that Tom is on his way out of the group.
Star magazine is so determined to convince its readers that Cruise is no longer a Scientologist, it fibbed and said that Cruise had skipped last year’s IAS event in England — even after we had posted a photograph proving that he was there.
Since then, Cruise showed up at the new “Ideal Org” in Colombia and was photographed inside the place. And once again, he made the scene at the IAS parties a couple of weeks ago.
The International Association of Scientologists celebrates its anniversary over a series of nights. On Friday, October 23, church leader David Miscavige gave his usual three-hour speech, and during it named the three winners of this year’s “Freedom Medals.” The winners this time were Steve Green, the New Zealand executive director of Scientology’s anti-psychiatry front group, Mario Chirinos, who runs Drug-Free World Venezuela, and Rohit Sharma of New Delhi, who distributes The Way to Happiness in India.
On Saturday night, October 24, it was time for the black-tie Patrons Ball, when Scientology’s big donors are celebrated under the big IAS tent, which is decorated with the flags of the world’s nations. Previously, we posted a photograph of Tom Cruise in a tuxedo with one of the night’s musical performers.
And now, in this photo, we see him with Freedom Medal winner Rohit Sharma, and inside the tent — the first time we’ve seen Tom actually inside the IAS party since he was awarded his own medal — the Freedom Medal of Valor — back in 2004.
Can Star and the other tabs that keep trying to convince us that Tom is leaving Scientology really ignore this photo completely? Here he is, making the scene at the IAS party, just a couple of weeks before Leah Remini’s Troublemaker was published and brought a whole new round of attention on Tom’s questionable behavior.
In her book, Leah confirms what we heard in the movie Going Clear — that Tom really seems to believe that he and David Miscavige are special human beings who are more important than everyone else on earth. And as long as he remains Scientology’s crown prince, he’s never going to give up that idea. Isn’t it time the magazines stop making excuses for him and apply more pressure on Cruise to submit to some real questioning?
