We drove all over the world Saturday and back, and only have energy to post some cool pictures for y’all today. Like this great one of ‘The Unbreakable Miss Lovely’ in front of Scientology’s Los Angeles headquarters, variously known as PAC Base, “Big Blue,” and “we want Berendo Street back.” Continue reading ‘The Unbreakable Miss Lovely’ goes on the road — and so does Paulette Cooper!
Jon Atack is the author of A Piece of Blue Sky, one of the very best books on L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology. He has a new edition of the book for sale, and for more than a year on Saturdays he helped us sift through the legends, myths, and contested facts about Scientology that tend to get hashed and rehashed in books, articles, and especially on the Internet. He was kind enough to send us a new post.
Jon, we want to thank for another lengthy and thoughtful piece which once again gets at the most fundamental effects of Scientology on its members. This one really blew us away, and considering the things you’ve already written for us, that’s saying a lot, we think. Lay it on us. Continue reading Jon Atack: When the militant Scientologist falters, you find a cowering 12-year-old inside
Las Vegas attorney Ryan Hamilton is back filing lawsuits against Scientology’s drug rehab network, Narconon. We’ve watched as he’s filed cases in California, Nevada, Louisiana, Florida, and now another case in Colorado.
Hamilton had taken a pause for a while as he attempted to consolidate his cases in a single Nevada federal court. But after that attempt failed, he appears to be ramping up his filings again. Continue reading Las Vegas attorney Ryan Hamilton makes it 29 lawsuits against Scientology’s drug rehab
Last week went so well, we have another list put together by Underground Bunker contributor Jeffrey Augustine. This time, he takes a look at Scientology’s propaganda magazine, Freedom, which has gone under a transformation lately.
For several years, Freedom only came out every year or so, whenever Scientology leader David Miscavige had another target that needed tarring, whether it was the St. Petersburg Times, Anderson Cooper, or the New Yorker. Continue reading Guest post: Five extreme examples of hypocrisy in Scientology’s ‘Freedom’ magazine

We have another segment for you from a secretly-recorded audiotape which captures a briefing inside a Scientology church.
This is our fourth portion of the recent briefing given by Andres Rodriguez, a senior executive in the organization. Besides becoming known for being captured on tape, Rodriguez is also notable because he was married at one time to Jessica Feshbach, who became notorious as the pushy “handler” of actress Katie Holmes during her first years married to Tom Cruise. Jessica is now married to former Scientology spokesman Tommy Davis, and they are no longer in Scientology’s elite Sea Org. Continue reading AUDIO LEAK: Scientology leader David Miscavige ‘makes L. Ron Hubbard out to be an imbecile’
ML Nestel at the Daily Beast takes a long look at our book ‘The Unbreakable Miss Lovely’ this morning, revealing some of the startling facts that we managed to dig up while working with Paulette Cooper to describe her long ordeal as Scientology’s most famous target for retaliation.

On April 11, we told you that Luis and Rocio Garcia had filed a pretty remarkable “motion to reconsider” after their federal fraud lawsuit against the Church of Scientology had been derailed by Judge James D. Whittemore.
Whittemore had granted Scientology’s motion forcing the Garcias to pursue the matter through the church’s internal arbitration scheme. In so doing, the judge had said that he made his decision based, in part, on the notion that both sides in the lawsuit had agreed that Scientology was a religion. Continue reading Scientology answers Garcia motion: We are definitely a bona fide worldwide religion!
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve been posting segments from a secretly-recorded audiotape that captures a Sea Org executive, Andres Rodriguez, talking to a group of Scientologists about their courses. We’ve posted three portions of the recording so far — part 1, part 2, part 3.
The tape gives us a rare glimpse inside a Scientology “org” and what it’s like to face the challenges of the “Bridge to Total Freedom.” Continue reading A voice from inside the Church of Scientology: Yes, the ‘Survival Rundown’ drives you insane
