As the Daily Beast reported recently in an excellent piece, a government-funded study has been going on for several years in Maryland that is measuring the effect of Scientology’s “detoxification” regimen on veterans with Gulf War Syndrome. The study isn’t actually testing L. Ron Hubbard’s quack theories for how his sauna-and-niacin plan is actually supposed […]
On August 28, we told you that Indianapolis attorney Jonathan Little and his firm had scored an interesting victory against Scientology’s drug rehab network, Narconon. San Francisco federal district judge Edward M. Chen called for a trial in a class-action lawsuit that Little and others had filed on behalf of former patients of Narconon centers […]
Captain David Miscavige is back! On Sunday, we showed you rare footage of what a Scientology “Maiden Voyage” event looks like inside the church’s private cruise ship, the Freewinds. We had located video of the opening night presentation by Miscavige in the 2006 edition of the celebration. And now, we’ve struck gold again — we […]

“It’s straight out of this universe,” Christensen said at the tail end of the video. […]
Jon Atack is the author of A Piece of Blue Sky, one of the very best books on L. Ron Hubbard and Scientology. He has a new edition of the book for sale, and for more than a year on Saturdays he helped us sift through the legends, myths, and contested facts about Scientology that […]
If you thought it was fun to see Laura Prepon utter some strange Scientology lingo in a recent print interview, wait until you see actress Erika Christensen talk about the effectiveness of Scientology in a 2006 testimonials video that was only meant for other Scientologists to see.
“It’s straight out of this universe,” Erika says. “It […]
It’s a video extravaganza today as we received new recordings from three of our regular contributors. What they have in common is that they’re interested in a young person’s journey in Scientology. […]
We’ve been reporting in huge volumes about Scientology’s drug rehab system, Narconon, and the legal troubles it finds itself in for what is its essentially deceptive business model. Narconon promises individualized drug counseling by medical professionals in a safe, drug-free environment, and downplays its connections to the church. But none of that is true. Not […]
