Scientology’s secret sites: The Bunker premieres drone footage never before seen of ‘Int Base’

DroneInt2g

Recently, the Underground Bunker was contacted by an anonymous source who said he had something rather spectacular he wanted to share with our readers. We were stunned when we saw what he was talking about. He has made super-high-quality films of Scientology facilities, using a 4K camera mounted on a drone.

You have never seen Scientology’s secretive compounds like this. Our source says that he complied with local laws when he made these videos, but we have a feeling Scientology will be contacting YouTube to try have these films taken down. So while they’re available, please give them a good look.

Today, we’re embedding two flyovers of Scientology’s 500-acre international management headquarters near Hemet, California. Known as “Int Base” to Scientologists, it’s also called “Gold” or “Gold Base” because it houses the studios of Golden Era Productions, where Scientology makes its films.

When you play the videos, make sure to full-screen them so you can take in the incredible detail.

We sent some screenshots from the videos to Tom DeVocht — a man who worked at the base over two lengthy stints, the last ending in 2005. In the shot below from the opening of the first video, he pointed out that “berthing” — a set of newer apartment buildings — can be seen in the middle of the picture.

DroneInt1a

“Berthing was one of the things I got declared for,” DeVocht says, referring to being “declared” a “suppressive person,” which is how a Scientologist is excommunicated. Construction of the berthing apartment buildings had been taking a long time, but DeVocht was aware that when they were finished, Scientology leader David Miscavige was going to use them to lock away dissident members.

“I didn’t complete them so DM could lock up the SPs there. Fuck that, I’m not locking anyone up,” he says, which is what got him in trouble.

Also in the frame, at the bottom of the picture on the right side, you can see a building that DeVocht says was a special gym constructed for the use of Miscavige and his best bud, Tom Cruise.

The view then moves on to take in a closer look at one of the most significant places in the compound, Building 50, the offices of the Religious Technology Center and its chairman, Scientology leader David Miscavige. It’s a massive building that houses elaborate rooms dedicated to Miscavige’s use — rooms that we gave you a good look at a couple of years ago.

DroneInt1b

DeVocht says that on the far side of Building 50, you can see a long, rectangular building. That’s a garage for Miscavige’s automobiles. And to the right, out of the picture, there’s a power plant that was built to make sure that Int Base has its own electricity supply. DeVocht says that Miscavige complained that noise from the power plant would be heard from his offices, so they had to make sure that it was far enough away, and that Building 50 was built like a tank, so the noise wouldn’t bother him.

The view then moves to the left, and we get our first really good look at Bonnie View and the outbuildings near it.

DroneInt1d

Bonnie View was the name of a Scottish-themed residence that was on this spot when the church bought the property, which had been a resort known as Gilman Hot Springs. L. Ron Hubbard liked the Bonnie View house, modest as it was, and intended to live in it when he was visiting the base and no longer in hiding. But Miscavige had the house torn down and replaced with this much larger version.

When we asked what was in the building today, DeVocht says the place is filled with items from Hubbard’s life.

“There are maybe just a couple of staff members in Bonnie View now. It has all of LRH’s artifacts. His Boy Scout stuff. It’s supposed to be a museum, and there was talk that maybe someday it would be open to the public.” He adds that construction of the house was rushed and shoddy. “That place was built as badly as Building 50. In a major quake, that building will come down.”

He also learned that the artifacts in the house are just replicas. “The originals are kept in a vault at CST,” he says, referring to the Church of Spiritual Technology, the strange Scientology entity that digs vaults in various places for storing Hubbard’s writings so they survive a nuclear holocaust.

As for the structures around Bonnie View, the small building to its right, with a peaked roof, is a garage that houses Hubbard’s Dodge Dart and his Bluebird motorhome.

To the upper left in the picture, there’s a long rectangular building — DeVocht says it houses an Olympic-sized pool that was built for Hubbard’s use. And the three small buildings at the top of the picture feature visitor suites, which Tom Cruise would use when he was visiting. One of them houses a full-sized theater for Cruise’s use.

The view turns again to the left, and downhill, back toward the highway that bisects the compound. From this view we can see quite a few buildings clustered in front of us.

DroneInt1e

At the far left edge, in the middle, is the “Qual” building with its steeple. Tom tells us it’s filled with courserooms. Next to it on the right is “Del Sol.”

“International management was there in 1983,” Tom says. But then in 2001, he did a renovation of it that put in auditing rooms with video cameras. Below that, the collection of small buildings at an angle, is “The Ranchos.”

“That’s where all the book compilations were done, the Basics. I renovated it for that.” At the very bottom of this image, there’s a large rectangular building that is an air-conditioned storage facility. “That has every photograph ever taken of Hubbard, and copies of every film. They have photos of Hubbard that the world has never seen.”

Above the storage facility, the building with a flat white roof in the middle of the image, is where voiceover work took place.

“Somewhere in this picture there is a whole laundry facility just for doing Miscavige’s laundry,” Tom says.

To the upper left, just this side of the highway, you see two square buildings with flat white roofs. They housed “The Hole,” the notorious prison for executives where Miscvaige, beginning in January 2004, locked away up to about 80 people, some for several years.

Each morning, the prisoners in the Hole would be let out to march through a tunnel under the highway to the long double-building you see on the other side, where they could shower. That structure also housed the Landlord Office, where Tom worked and planned renovations to the compound.

The camera makes its way across the highway, and we get a great view of the “Cine Castle” — the huge studios used by Golden Era Productions.

DroneInt1f

Tom directed our attention to the mostly dried-up lake at the top of the image. He said it was from the back nine of the golf course, which was abandoned after an attempt to turn the compound’s nine-hole course into a full 18.

After sweeping around, the camera makes its way over the south side of the compound, with its large body of water.

DroneInt1h

“That lake used to be a small pond. It’s where they used to make people jump into the water,” Tom says. Mike Rinder and Marc Headley have described being marched down to the lake and told to jump in, sometimes in chilly weather, as a form of punishment.

But the lake also prompted another memory from Tom: “They use millions of gallons a day watering that grass,” he says.

The camera sweeps back over Berthing and uphill, then turns around and comes back down over Building 50.

DroneInt1k

We pointed out to Tom that we could only see one car in the photo. Seems like a pretty huge expense for so little use.

“I spent close to $47 million on that building, after Bitty [Miscavige] had spent $47 million already,” he says. “And you see all those big trees around the building? You have to understand, this was desert. I had Miscavige telling me, ‘Tom, I want my building to look like it’s in the forest. I want it to look like you cut down trees to build my buildings. I don’t want small trees that will eventually grow. I want big trees so it looks like you had to cut them down to put up the building.’

“So I hired a guy — he was 94, and he had built the Wynn in Las Vegas, total character this guy — and we hired him and a local company. I showed him around. He said, ‘Are you kidding me? Who the hell is this building for? You’re out in the middle of the desert. What’s this building for?’

“He said it was impossible to put in really big trees. So we went as big as we could. It was very expensive — and then Miscavige busted me for spending too much and being over budget. But then, he complained, ‘I thought I told you to make it look like it was in a forest. What are these small plants?’

DeVocht says the trees cost as much as $10,000 each.

The view then sweeps down to the highway, and we get a good look at the Star of California, the building next to a pool that’s supposed to evoke a sailing ship, complete with three masts.

DroneInt1l

“That was meant for Hubbard,” Tom says, to make the “Commodore” feel at home. Did DeVocht get to use the pool? “I think twice the entire time. On Sea Org Day, or something.”

And some images from the second flyover. A closer look at The Hole, on the right, and just below it, at the very bottom edge, buildings known as the “200s,” which, Tom says, house L. Ron Hubbard’s personal auditing folders.

DroneInt2b

To their left, also at the bottom edge, are sound studios for music recording, known as the “Ravs.”

A later view puts the Qual building right in the center…

DroneInt2h

And then, across the highway, we see the Massacre Canyon Inn on the right, where there’s a large mess for crew to eat.

DroneInt2i

“It has a big galley kitchen. We held staff meetings there. And it has executive game rooms, where Miscavige would play video games all the time.”

Attached to it, slanting to the left, were buildings which contained meeting rooms. And behind it, the building with a gingerbread look…

“That was the original film studio. It was one of the first things they built there. In front of it, you see the Tavern, where talent would go to eat. To its right, Hubbard office when he was going to be at studio. The studio was mostly defunct when I was there.”

Thank you, Tom, for that guided tour. We look forward to hearing from other former residents of Int Base about their memories of specific locations found in these remarkable films. Tell us all about Int Base, readers!

Way back when I was just a TeenageBroad, I convinced my best friend to drive me to the local frozen custard place* so I could flirt with the cute boy that worked there. She was annoyed with me and insisted in staying in the car and when I asked her what flavor malt I could order for her, she said “Dingleberry” which I then innocently ordered from the cute boy. And that is how I learned what a dingleberry is.

“Former Florida Prison Listed As Vacation Rental On AirBnb”

For about 5 seconds it actually occurred to me that this Tampa Bay Times story (headline above) could be about Scientology…lol.

    http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/media/you-can-now-pay-to-spend-the-night-at-a-florida-prison-via-airbnb/2292411

    • aquaclara

Other coast of Florida. Only two bunks to a cell-what a win that would be. /snark

      • Noesis

        Understood about the other coast.

It was the words…Florida…prison…rental …in the headline that got me thinking (before I read the actual article.)

After going through the whole thing I realized it was not about Scientology….because the church does not have any prison facilities that are that nice.

        Lol.

  • Remarkable vids. Love the background music. That fake ship is stupid. Thanks AnonDrone.

    • LongtimeLurker

You won’t be laughing when everyone gets on the fake ship to sail to Target 2.

    • Dylan

I have been on that ship. It is sorta silly but with meaning.

      • I hear you, Dylan. Meaning and the place is insane though, imho.

        • Dylan

Sure is. The first time I was on the INT base was to do research at the household unit. I was working on the finishing touches of the LRH house up at CST. a very well built entertaining area. Sucks how the staff are not allowed to use it. Was a great background for that famous so picture with all the so members in the class A’s

          • How are you doing brother? Thank you for all the insight.

      • MarcabExpat

Please feel free to elaborate to your heart’s desire, I’m sure we would be all ears.

    • edge

So LRH is supposed to fly back here from Target 2, pick up some body, walk into any org and sit in his office as if nothing happened, and then retreat to his fake ship and play pretend captain? That’s their idea of prophecy? Excuse me while I try to contain my snickering…

      • Kim O’Brien

it’s gonna be a long wait . that’s my guess anyways

His accent will become as one whose mouth is full (of pills) and he will be given to much “so ons, so forths and woosh-pows”.

        • UhLasare

Are you doing any better, Baby? I’ve not been here too much lately, missed any update. I recently took levaquin, related to Cipro. A week into it, my Dr. says new info had come out since they prescribed it to me, never take it unless last resort, it’s got dangerous side effects. I thought of you. Hope you’re mending.

          • Baby

If I have permanent side effects from Cipro I am going to scream Lasare..

I am better than I was, but have a long road ahead before I can say I feel back to where I was… It is such a dangerous drug.. Did you stop after the week..OMG I hope so.

I still have pain in the sternum, chest, and around the rib cage area..
            Costochondritis ..

Taking ibuprofen and some days I use a hot water bottle..Thanks honey. Levaquin.. ugh..

            • UhLasare

I did not experience side-effects, thankfully, and I stopped after taking right away when the Dr. told me to stop. Some side-effects of Levaquin are nerve damage and tendonitis, or tendon detachment!

I really, really, really hope you have no permanent damage! I am so hopeful for full recovery for you, and will pray for you now.

            • Baby

              Thanks.. me too Lasare..

Can you imagine tendon detachment? Good Gawd.. So glad you stopped babe..

If I can get the word out about that dangerous drug I would go anywhere to do it..

            • UhLasare

Yes, I can, lol. I’m slightly suggestible. I read about that side-effect while taking them, and about immediately started feeling pain and limping. Then my husband pointed out the tendon was not in the place I felt the pain. Oh.

            • Baby

Girl.. Someone asked me once.. ” Don’t your long bangs give you a headache..?”

Instant Headache! Same with a Cig. that had the filter cut off.. told it was pot.. Instant High..

I could go on and on.. I am very suggestible.. Your hubby sounds like Mac..hahhaha

            • UhLasare

He’s pretty great. But very different from me. We make a good team. I’m very grateful. Mac sounds like a good one, from what I’ve seen you post. Hang in there with your recovery!

            • Baby

Mac is total opposite from me. I would NEVER be attracted to a man with my personality..ugh..

It sounds like you are married to your best friend too.. wonderful..thanks Lasare.. I started watching ” Goodnight Mommy” last night..

and fell asleep.. so will finish it tonight..I was so tired from being out in the sun.. xo thanks for recommending it honey.. xoxo

            • UhLasare

It weren’t me. Looks scary! I would never watch it! But, glad you’re enjoying it, lol.

            • Baby

Hm.. I’m sorry.. OH that’s right you are a wimp..hahaha.. I just finished it.. It’s not a movie for me either..xo

        • Juicer77

Get back on that bike as soon as you are able, Baby! xoxo

What was your feeling? What did you learn?

      • UhLasare

I read two posts. I can’t make out if she is a crazy stalker or a comic with interesting ideas about satire. I suppose if I read more I could figure it out, but I don’t want to read it.

What did I learn? That our favorite blogger MR is a doppelganger plant? Is that right?

        • Qbird

yup – there ya go. That’s the position from which she writes. You got it.

I remember my first Schwarz visit.

      Good times.

Edit – I spelled her name incorrectly, like the tennis player.

      • πŸ™‚ kept me awake for 3 weeks

        • LongtimeLurker

Yeah, ikr? I should have said “in for an experience” rather than “treat”.

    • Noesis

It’s mostly about mental illness….specifically hers.

      • Bob Crouch

Then again, scientology is mostly about mental illness…specifically Hubbard’s.

        • Noesis

Yes, but he had a bridge and everything…

          • Bob Crouch

He may or may not have a bridge. However, he DEFINITELY has one for sale!

      • UhLasare

Sad. I was hoping she was a satirist.

        • Noesis

          No kidding.

          Poe’s Law strikes again.

    • Bob Crouch

      One genuinely scary individual:

She holds the record for the most FOIA requests, having fired off thousands in her quest to find non-existent information about, e.g., the secret base beneath Salt Lake where she was born as the unacknowledged child of Eisenhower, or however that story goes.

      • LongtimeLurker

She’s been banned from ever filing another FOIA request, iirc.

        • Liberated

I’m dumb, what is FOIA ?

          • UhLasare

Freedom of Information Act in US

            • Liberated

              Merci

          • LongtimeLurker

Hey! No you’re not. You can’t know everything.

The U.S. Freedom Of Information Act.

Most democracies have something similar under different names (I just realised I actually don’t know what Australia’s is called, even though I know the U.S. one. That’s embarrassing – I should look that up).

She was filing more requests than huge media outlets. Dozens? Hundreds maybe.

Edit – as Robert had already clearly stated (but I didn’t read – FLUNK! Begin!) it’s actually thousands since 1989.

And she keeps not paying the $10 each that the gov charges.

            • Liberated

Thanks, she sounds like a real nut case.

BTW, was that photo of you holding the wombat yesterday?
Whoever it was, it was adorable.
I’ve discovered a new found love for the little critters.

            • LongtimeLurker

I love most fluffs, but yeah recently I’ve gone wombat crazy.

No that wasn’t me. I wish!

I can’t remember which photo I posted. If the person was in a uniform, they’re probably a zoo employee.

Otherwise, people can get licensed in Australia to work with native animals.

A lot of marsupials have unfortunate interactions with cars on country roads, but the joey (the baby) can sometimes survive, because of the pouch I guess?

So if you hit a wombat or a kangaroo with a joey or find an orphan in the bush, there’s people who you can take it to who then hand rear them, and slowly get them ready to be released back into the wild.

If I lived in the country, I would totally do it.

            • Liberated

May I ask where you do live?

I’m feeding a family of feral cats, and mommy cat is expecting a new litter, oh boy.
So, I can relate to your passion of loving animals and caring for them.

Everytime I think about what Hubbard said “animals are degraded beings” , I get pissed off all over again.

            • LongtimeLurker

His attitude towards animals and children really upsets me.

How did you end up responsible for the cats?

I don’t mind, if you tell me roughly where you are (I should know I guess, but it’s hard to keep track sometimes).

I’m in Melbourne. Near an inner city beach suburb called Saint Kilda.

Hang on…am I embarrassing myself…you’re not Australian right?

            • Liberated

No my dear , I’m born and raised in the good old USA.
I live in Indiana, ever heard of it?

I ended up with the wild kitties because I’ve been a magnet for strays my entire life.
I love them and they love me.
I don’t know what I’ll do with the new litter when it arrives, but I’ll just have to deal with it.

Everything Hubbard said about everything upsets me, guess that’s why I love the bunker so much.
Still blows my mind that I communicate with people from Australia.

            • LongtimeLurker

Sure. I know it. I mean I probably can’t name any landmarks or the capital, but you know…

              Isn’t it like 2am there?

              Are you a night owl?

            • Liberated

Yes I am a night owl, Indianapolis is the capital and that’s where I live.
We have a famous race every year (Indy 500) .
Kurt Vonnegut, David Letterman (went to the same high school) and we’re basketball crazy , that’s about it, I could go on, but as you know it’s late, and I think I’m calling it a night.

              Nice getting to know you.

            • LongtimeLurker

              Indianapolis! I did know that.

And I’ve read some Vonnegut. Didn’t know which state he was from though.

Nice to chat, I’ll see you soon.

            • Frodis73

Fuck Hubbard, he prob hated animals cos they could sense he was a scumbag.
Congrats on the kitties! I had a pg momma show up two summers ago and it was a blast playing with her kittens.

            • Juicer77

Awwww, good for you. If you have a spare room and time, might want to take her in before she delivers so you can give her a safe place and get everyone spayed/neutered when the time is right. If that’s too much just a cozy box with some “nesting” material will help. Put it right next to the food and she will probably move in when the time comes.

She’s someone with apparently unsurmountable mental problems who thinks that Marty was replaced with some kind of sinister imposter. And that the real one is her Prince. As in Charming. She’s also what, when I worked for the Government here, we would have called ‘a vexatious correspondent’, due to her constant submission of FOI requests, and refusals to pay the fee for some of those requests. Her blog is funny the first time or two that you read it, then, as you realise that it’s not satire and that she (apparently) really believes the stuff she writes, it becomes sad/scary. ISTR her claims that Tony is a Nazi, hence his calling this place the Underground Bunker. ETA: she also scans the internet for mentions of herself, so naming her sometimes summons her!

Is Obama about to invent a reason to spark war on Putin and Russia?
European countries (Nato allies) have been warning their citizens to stockpile food and water.
Putin himself warned worldwide media a couple of months back that the US government was threatening Russia with the placement of missiles within range of attack/or potential range of attack using the excuse of Nuclear threat by Iran. Is this the reason Obama gave Iran millions of dollars, so that ‘threat’ has more credibility. The US government has also had influence in Nato decisions to move troops closer to Russia whilst simultaneously complaining of the now (supposed) greater threat of Russia’s proximity to those troops. Russia is being falsely accused of war crimes in Ukraine and Crimea, when it’s been admitted by Nato that US supported rebels are responsible for the coup and fighting in the region. There is also the unproven allegation that Russia was responsible for the downing of the Malaysian jetliner… with some evidence to suggest it was Kiev using appropriated Russian rockets.
Is the UN taking control of the internet come November? << I don't know if that is true, I read it somewhere and haven't yet followed up.
Hillary Clinton recently threatened Russia (and China – Russia's ally) with (among other things) 'military' action next time she wants to accuse Russia of being guilty of hacking the US – all unproven… and apparently no proof needed. (Hacking is a crime worthy of military attack? Should Germany have attacked the US when caught tapping Merkel's phone recently? Or does the US get special privileges because they're apparently more moral?)
And is all this happening with an alarming increase in speed in incidents because why? Because if the US is declared at war there can be no elections and Obama – Soros' puppet – can retain power until the One World government (UN?) takes over?
Just putting this here… mulling it over… asking questions, reading further, hoping for more than abuse back… just so I can come back in a few months to see if there was any truth in what's been suggested by the 'conspiracy theorists'.
    Very curious.

    • Liberated

      Shut-up!

      • EnthralledObserver

Aren’t you concerned by what is happening in the world?

        • I’m concerned by what’s happening in your head.

          • EnthralledObserver

I’m just reading widely… it isn’t in my head, honey.
Were you aware of heavy artillery (tanks) moving around Europe closer to Russia and war vessels by various nations moving into the Black Sea which Russia is responding to?

            • Molly Meldrum

              Lol, evidently not that widely.

            • EnthralledObserver

You can extrapolate on that if you like, Chuckles. Go ahead and point me in the ‘right’ direction according to the great Molly…

            • Molly Meldrum

Putin the Great Human Rights Defender locks up bloody gays…..for bein gay….seriously, how could you not know this? You don’t watch the news, read newspapers? Perhaps you did know that, you simply agree with the policy. Lord, the examples go on and on and on. You clearly do not read widely, and I suspect you also live under a rock to be this uninformed/ignorant.

            • EnthralledObserver

Names… give me names of people who have been locked up for being gay under Russian law.
I know they have a homosexual and pedophilia propaganda law… that prevents the indoctrination and abuse of children… but adult gays are free to go along with having relationships with other consenting adults as they wish.

            • Molly Meldrum

Ha! you agree with this policy? Oh I’m over and out then.

            • EnthralledObserver

Wow… you are reactionary, aren’t you. Whether I agree or disagree was not stated, nor would I… I don’t live there, don’t plan to… and don’t care aside from discovering the facts regarding Russia and its leader. It’s not my place to dictate to another country which morality they should uphold. If Russians don’t like it and it’s not working for them they can change it at their next election – they do not need US government riding in on a white horse shoving their contrived morality upon them whether they like it or not.
US government morality is barren at the best of times… look what they’ve done to Libya, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan… I wouldn’t trust their judgement with my flag design, let alone something important.

            • Molly Meldrum

Cop out. You equivocate. You’re either for human rights or you’re against them.

            • EnthralledObserver

You falsly attribute the term ‘human rights’ to an issue that is yet to be proven as such… because you wish to generate an emotional high-ground. It’s not a human right to interfere with the normal and safe development of children.
You can fuck whoever you want so long as they are consenting and an adult. Oh, and in most cases not a close relative… though Islam might be for you if you’re into that kind of thing.

            • Molly Meldrum

You haven’t read widely and you haven’t googled then. Uninformed. I suspect deliberately so.

            • EnthralledObserver

You can ‘suspect’ all you like, it doesn’t make you right.

And you didn’t answer my question from above. Do you want to see Putin killed for the existence of this law?

            • Molly Meldrum

I actually laughed out loud at that :))) Shit! No, I don’t, however do I believe the world would be better off without the guy? – yep

            • EnthralledObserver

Well if you don’t want to see him killed then don’t advocate for US led/supported invasion. Because that’s what is going to happen.

            • Molly Meldrum

              Invasion of where?

            • EnthralledObserver

Really? Go back to the top and read my original comment. Geeze.

            • Molly Meldrum

              No thanks

            • Molly Meldrum

Yeah…hold my hand if you would… much appreciated. πŸ™‚

            • It’s saber rattling. It’s not uncommon to move assets around contested areas to intimidate. It’s mostly theater. I’m not saying that there’s nothing to worry about with Putin, Kim and other assorted despots around the world. I just don’t think there’s some grand plan moving ahead that is being hinted at with vague warnings from governments and tabloids. I will say that electing a lunatic like Trump would make the hotspots a thousand times hotter. If you want to worry about humans on the planet, try climate change and income inequality. There’s way more likely to be wars over the fallout from those slowly unfolding disasters than there is from old, 19th century grudges.

            • EnthralledObserver

Income inequality? Gender? If so… that’s a myth, otherwise I’m not sure what you are referring to.
Man made climate change – false.
              Problems solved.

Clinton is the one threatening ‘military’ action against Russia and China while Trump has been saying he’s happy to work with them. The warmonger is not Trump.

Oh man I remember back in 1986 when NWO released Straight Outta Compton (this was with the original lineup of course – Arabian Prince, Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, and Ice Cube. Before DJ Yella and MC Ren joined).

        What a great album.

        • edge

You’re thinking NWA, man. NWO was this boss wrestling group in the 90s with these sick t-shirts. Even Dennis Rodman was with them. Monday Night Wars. Now that was television.

    • Scream Nevermore

This is the first I’ve heard of any talk about stockpiling food/water!

      • EnthralledObserver
        • Scream Nevermore

Dude, that’s in Germany, not all of Europe, and most Germans laughed when they read that. It’s part of the process of updating their civil defence/disaster recovery plans. I used to work in a govt team here that dealt with the same stuff, and we had the same plans, which have to be kept up to date. We usually ask people to keep at least 3 days’ worth of food and water in the house during the winter, in case the weather gets really bad. Nothing more sinister than that.

          • Frodis73

That sounds like way too much common sense…don’t you know it’s all a conspiracy? Wake up sheeple!

          • EnthralledObserver

Czech Republic too… it was at the bottom.
I guess it isn’t the ‘first’ you’ve heard of it then.

            • Scream Nevermore

No, not the first ever, just the first recently. Every country has its own plan(s), and they are supposed to be kept up to date, but what usually happens is that they get neglected for a number of years, then someone remembers, and there’s a panic to get the plan back into shape before some scumbag reporter finds out and splashes tales of civil service ineptitude on the front pages/internet. That’s what almost happened when I first got involved in working on it here. Can’t say any more (Official Secrets Act and all that) but it was equally annoying and scary at the time! That seems to be what’s happened in Germany recently. Of course, given the situation regarding terrorist attacks in France/Germany, people are a bit more on the alert just now, and it can’t hurt to be prepared. But if you ask people here, they are more worried about ISIS than Putin. In fact, for various reasons, he’s quite well regarded on a popular level, which probably has some government bods feeling alarmed. And given recent pronouncements by Obama, any hint of the UK blindly following the USA into some confrontation with Russia would not play well with the populace, so the Government would be very cautious indeed.

            • EnthralledObserver

Okay… well, that certainly makes sense… and could be all there is to it. I’ll keep it in mind as I keep reading though, of course.
I do find it very alarming Hillary Clinton’s view and threat toward Putin though… especially reading so many people seem to actually view him very favourably, Russians and others throughout the world. They like his pro-nation stance… and I must admit I find him genuine, honourable and impressive myself from what I’ve watched of him.

            • Frodis73

Putin?? Genuine and honorable? Seriously? For such a pro free speech kind of person you may want to look into how he handles that kind of thing.

            • EnthralledObserver

Enlighten me… show me the evidence… I’m willing to look. I haven’t found anything compelling yet… so you might have to guide me to what you consider reputable.

            • Frodis73

Google is your friend hon, just like SN suggested looking into his brutality you can go read about what he has done to journos and bloggers that are willing to speak and write about the truth.

            • EnthralledObserver

I just did ‘google’… and what I found rather fortified my current beliefs about Putin… I don’t think google is your friend in this situation.
See my above response to SN for a more detailed account of what I’ve managed to read so far.

            • Scream Nevermore

Personally, I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him. When all is said and done, he is a dictator of the most brutal kind. But there are those who like (at least on an intellectual level) the way he always seems to have an answer, acts decisively etc. After their first 5 mins of living under his rule, they’d soon change their minds. Don’t forget how incredibly vain he is – that’s his main weakness, I think. And it is a bad one for a leader to have – because his country and his self are all tied up together in that vanity. It could have awful, far-reaching consequences.

            • Scream Nevermore

I just realised – I could have been talking about Darth Midget there! Though Putin is a bit taller than him.

            • EnthralledObserver

“he is a dictator of the most brutal kind” << please elaborate on what you mean by this. In what way has he been 'brutal'? Is there evidence of this that I can go look at?
I've watched many of his speeches and what he says seems reasonable, intelligent and often times actually the more compassionate road. I've seen him advocate for other nations' sovereignty and only intervene when the elected governments request intervention. Putin went into Ukraine at the behest of the current democratically elected government before the coup. The US interfered by backing rebels against the government – Putin had to go in to rescue him lest he be murdered – he is now being kept safe by Russia. Would the US preferred him dead? The same was done with Saddam… Gaddafi… and now Assad… and out of all my research I've never found anything remotely like substantive evidence of 'brutal' dictatorship or 'weapons of mass destruction" the US government used to convince the world to support them in attacking these much appreciated elected leaders. I agree with Putin. In the current climate of threats and lies coming from the US regarding Putin's behaviour… I imagine he worries he might be next in the sites of the corrupt and brutal US government who would be happy to see him dead.
I've seem him advocate for morality and healthy, traditional families. I've looked for the opinion of the Russian people on whether they like him or not… they predominantly seem to like him. It is still a recovering country… they did have a brutal past and were a country on the brink of destruction, but they've brought themselves back… with the help of Putin. There is a way to go, but he seems to have led that country in the right direction. So well in fact, that the US government seems to view them as a threat again… despite not doing anything but develop their defensive weapons. Would you deny them even that when you enjoy all the defensive AND offensive weapons the US government wields – a lot of the time irresponsibly?
Crimea had a referendum… but it's not good enough for the US despite the fact that US backed referendums for sovereignty have been perfectly acceptable.
What's the real reason all these leaders have been attacked and their countries delved into chaos. Might it have something to do with the US petro-dollar and those leaders' desires to create and use another currency to weaken the US control and corruption?
Until I come across more evidence to the contrary, I'm leaning towards Putin's version for the time being. But I'm open to convincing with proper evidence, of course.

            • Scream Nevermore

Of course they say they like him – if they say otherwise, they might find themselves in a cell somewhere, or Siberia. Interesting that you quote the Crimean referendum. Do you really think that the result was not settled in advance? The Ukraine is next on his shopping list. Google ‘Putin brutality’ and you will see plenty of examples.

            • EnthralledObserver

You know.. I’m actually aware that that could be the case… I’m not settled completely, just looking for the truth. I lean towards Putin’s version only because it’s more compelling for me at the moment based on what I’ve seen/read/watched. Apart from what the US and other western media put out (and mostly that’s just supposed facts without evidence) the opinion and evidence that I find does not fit the version you support. I’ll keep looking… because I think the truth is the most important thing… and if what I’ve been seeing regarding Putin turns out to be true then the US government and the media it controls is looking pretty bloody disgusting.

            • EnthralledObserver

I took your advice and googled. First four choices of articles were either heavily biased opinion pieces with no evidence, a satirical piece making fun of Putin dissidents and a piece by the guardian (which was a typical main-stream media position regarding Putin) at which I found a link to another Putin story about Khodorkovsky with comments where there was very healthy discussion about the ‘facts’ about Putin, his KGB origins, his positions, his accomplishments, etc… it seems the western main stream media facts could be a little shaky depending on how deeply you research. I thank you for the direction, unfortunately what I’ve managed to read so far has not lent your position any credibility yet… in fact, the healthy discussion in the guardian comments section rather made me feel there was more to my uneasy feeling I get thinking Putin is being framed and set up to take a fall. I’ll keep reading though… but it might interest you also to investigate some of the alternative facts (i.e not main-stream media) too.

            • Molly Meldrum

Wot you mean bout this bit?
“I’ve seem him advocate for morality and healthy, traditional families” …

            • Frodis73

She’s not a fan of the lgbt “agenda”.

            • Molly Meldrum

agenda ? How bout basic human rights??? How you feel bout locking gays up Enthralled??!!!

            • EnthralledObserver

How is that relevant? Homosexuality is not illegal in Russia, nor where I am from. Nobody wants that.

            • Molly Meldrum

Oh you been “reading widely” darl, aint ya πŸ˜‰

            • EnthralledObserver

Yeah, darl… but ‘av ya a place I ain’t been yet?

            • EnthralledObserver

Seriously though – what are you saying – that homosexuality IS illegal in Russia?

            • Molly Meldrum

You really do need your hand held with the googling don’t you. Pathetic.

            • EnthralledObserver

So… you didn’t answer… is there a law in Russia that states it is illegal to be homosexual, or even to do homosexual acts?

            • Molly Meldrum

Oh wow, are you saying you support his “homosexual propaganda” law? And yes – you most certainly can be locked up under it btw – FACT.

            • EnthralledObserver

So what you are saying is that you don’t comprehend the difference between ‘spreading propaganda’ and ‘being homosexual’?

At any rate… do you want Putin killed for this Russian law? It’s right and moral and just that the US government threaten, incite violence and invade Russia delving it into chaos because of this one law?
Or do you have more grievances than this with Putin?

            • Molly Meldrum

I know exactly what this law is about.
A direct question: Do you support it?

            • EnthralledObserver

              I am indifferent – I don’t live there.

            • Molly Meldrum

Oh good lord, such a myopic little heart.

            • EnthralledObserver

Your over-emotional melodrama is futile… my interest is facts. The fact is, we don’t live there, can’t vote and should not have a say. Let THEM decide.

            • Molly Meldrum

Fortunately (for me), my criteria of caring doesn’t end with my country’s borders. I don’t vote in other countries but I care that in some places homosexuality is punishable by death.
I care that Russia has created laws that take away a gay person’s freedom to expression and physical safety. The gay kids growing up there will only know a society of stigma, fear and hiding. People are getting arrested, people are getting sacked, incarcerated, beaten up.
These are human rights abuses. If you don’t care, then shame on you.

            • EnthralledObserver

You can care all you like… but what you don’t have is a say in the matter.
Best of luck with your caring.

            • Molly Meldrum

Per your logic, caring about human rights is demarcated to the end of your backyard.

            • EnthralledObserver

I said: “you can care all you like” – does that sound like I’m limiting your ability or desire to care? No.
What you are not able to do, nor should you do, is interfere. Who are you to dictate to the citizens of another country what they should or should not believe in? Butt out, big ears… it’s NOT your country! Educate from your country all you like… be the shining example of success of your values (if even possible), but invasion and killing of the leader of another country is NOT acceptable in these circumstances.
Now… what else do you have against Putin? Anything?

            • EnthralledObserver

Mum, Dad and their children. It’s not a secret, nor a disputed fact, that children do best when raised in a traditional family with both their biological parents. It’s also best for the parents to be in a committed relationship and work together as a team caring and providing for and raising their offspring.

            • Molly Meldrum

You never got around to answering this:

How bout basic human rights??? How you feel bout locking gays up

            • EnthralledObserver

I just did answer it… I’m working my way down… give me a chance, chicken.

            • Molly Meldrum

I have a feeling you don’t even know any gay people. If you did, you’d know damn well that loving, healthy, NORMAL families abound: replete with homos.

            • EnthralledObserver

Erm… two men, or two women, cannot a baby make, my friend. It’s not ‘normal’ because it’s not even ‘possible’.

            • LongtimeLurker

Personally I would never say that all 16 year veterans of the KGB who rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel during the height of the Cold War would have to be ruthless sociopaths.

But some of them would be.

            • Betty

Vain? Who does that sound like? The Donald.

        • Molly Meldrum

          Good girl… keep it up!

      • Graham

Don’t engage this attention-whore. You aint gonna win. It’s not about facts, it’s not about the truth, it’s all about being a shit-stirring troll ‘for the lulz’. Why else try to start a debate about a controversial subject which has absolutely nothing to do with the purpose of this site?

        • EnthralledObserver

          Again… get a life… skip or engage… stop being a fucking pussy.

    • “Just putting this here, dot, dot, dot,”

Translation: I need attention and I’ll take what I can get.

Not stepping in your bag of flaming wombat shit. My master, Soros won’t let me.

      • Liberated

Try not to engage that nit-wit.

      • Graham

“hoping for more than abuse back” = hoping for abuse back. Posting stuff which is 100% off-topic to the purpose of this board; what else could I expect?

        • EnthralledObserver

Have the guts to confront me directly, coward.

          • Frodis73

WTF does that eve mean??? I think he just did confront you directly…at least as much as he can on line…do you want him to show up on your door step?

            • EnthralledObserver

Oi… dumbarse, he didn’t reply to ‘me’, did he? He’s flopping around trying to convince everyone but me that he knows me better than I know myself.

      • LongtimeLurker

    • Douglas D. Douglas

      What?

Other places on the vast ‘net for this. Not here.

      • EnthralledObserver

Don’t try to tell me what to do.

        Are you incapable of skipping?

  • Lady Squash

Obnoxious opulence considering it was built with slave labor without regard to bankrupting its members.

Well after viewing those videos here are my thoughts:

1- the guy has a definite fetishes for that one shade of blue, which looks like the color of big blue in LA..what’s with that?

2- Major violation of California drought guidelines…they should be fined millions for that, it’s unconscionable

3- where are the people ? There’s no foot traffic and almost no vehicles visible. It would take an enormous staff to maintain this,,, where are they?

4- As if Cruise didn’t annoy me enough already….a gym, and guest house and private theater for His Majesty to save mankind with….I have no words

    5- it’s creepy.

    • Intergalactic Walrus

IDK if these videos were shot recently, but the Hemet summer temperatures can be @ 100 degrees. No one should be walking around outside in that kinda heat.

    • Liberated

      Yep.

    • Commodore H. McCringleberry

1- Not sure, but wouldn’t be surprised if there is an “LRH Advice” out there about roof colors.

2- Yep, but it helps when you own the county board of supervisors. Also why we’re about two weeks from people needing to purchase $400,000 drone operator permits in Riverside County. I predict some salesman at DroneShield is about to make the commission of a lifetime. . .

3- Hard to maintain ownership of a motor vehicle on $50 a week, plus it makes it a hell of a lot easier to blow. Unless they’re going to switch to outdoor production areas, you aren’t going to see anyone out in daylight excepting musters.

4- There’s a separate, slightly less opulent building for Travolta. His only unique bonus is a hole in the bathroom wall above the empty toilet paper holder. . . ewwww.

      5- That it is.

For the next Mrs. Tom Cruise:

If you’re dating Tom Cruise and he brings you to a place called Int Base, and it looks like this, it’s a pretty good sign things will not end well.

(And for the poster who goes by TNMTC, waving hi, since I borrowed your name).

Looks like this was shot very early in the morning? No persons in sight……

    • flyonthewall

take another look, there’s people playing soccer in the opening shot of the first vid. Also a few people going here and there throughout both vids. Not many but they’re there. New post today has a good breakdown from various ex’s who use to live on the base.

  • Rene Trujillo

From this vantage point I see thousands of cardboard humans going no where!

  • Jeff Jacobsen

I counted 46 people in video 1, and 64 in video 2. I counted a moving vehicle as one person.
