Kenny Thompson’s mother had questionable taste in men. Dad One — Kenny’s biological father — skipped out when he was two years old.
Maybe that contributed to keeping him from starting to speak until he was four.

We still have a lot of questions about the murder of Chih-Jen “Aaron” Yeh, 24, a Scientologist at the ‘Advanced Org’ in the north suburbs of Sydney that happened on Thursday afternoon there. The Australian press is doing its best to gather details about the event, but it’s clear that they don’t really seem to understand what an Advanced Org is or what happens at one.

[NOTE: For coverage of the stabbing at a Scientology facility in Australia, please see the story we posted last night.] Last week, the New York Post discovered in a court filing that Allison Mack’s attorneys had cited a dismissed lawsuit against Scientology in their defense of the Smallville actress.
[NOTE: Please see our new story about this incident, with our experts discussing the strange circumstances around a Sea Org guard being killed at Australia’s Advance Org.] Our first instinct when we heard the news breaking out of Sydney that two men had been stabbed at Scientology’s Advanced Org, one fatally, was to contact journalist Bryan Seymour to see if he had any inside information about what was going on. But Bryan is here in New York on vacation at the moment — we just spent time with him here yesterday. However, he tells us his newsroom back at home is on the case and he’ll get us an update as soon as he hears something.
Last night’s Scientology and the Aftermath episode started out with a message about how the show, for a change, had not received a last-minute threat letter to A&E about its contents.
On October 14, Scientology opened its latest “Ideal Org,” this time in the city of Detroit. It was the 61st org to go Ideal since the program started in 2003. (Scientology says 70, but that’s counting some other sorts of facilities that have also gone Ideal — another of them, an “Advanced Org,” is being opened today in South Africa.)
