[Ron DeWolf and his dad, L. Ron Hubbard]

We have yet another FBI document release for you today, the result of a lawsuit by journalist Emma Best that has pried loose several interesting files from the law enforcement agency in recent weeks. Previously, we published a file about the FBI’s 2009 human trafficking investigation of the Church of Scientology’s “Sea Org,” a 2008 investigation of the Anonymous movement, and a 1996 probe of a bogus bomb threat.

DOX: The FBI’s 2008 investigation of Anonymous and its attacks on the Church of Scientology

A new release of government documents shows that the FBI took very seriously the Church of Scientology’s complaints about the Anonymous movement when it burst on the scene in January 2008, and the law enforcement agency spent months trying to find, in particular, the person who sent more than 20 letters to Southern California Scientology churches that contained a white powder.

What’s at stake in Tuesday’s San Antonio court hearing with Scientology’s former enforcer

[Ray Jeffrey, and the Rathbuns]

On Tuesday morning, three attorneys who used to represent Monique and Mark “Marty” Rathbun are scheduled to go into a San Antonio courtroom and argue that the judge (who will be assigned to the case that morning) should order that the Rathbuns sit for sworn depositions and turn over a large number of financial records.

Scientology shows no sign of slowing down its use of religious visas for foreign labor

Last year in January we reported on some stunning new data that researcher R.M. Seibert managed to pry out of the US government with help from the MuckRock website. For years, Scientology watchers like Jeff Jacobsen had noticed that Scientology seemed to rely on foreign workers at its major bases, and that they were being brought in under a “religious worker” visa, also known as R-1.

Tonight on ‘Aftermath’: Suicide in Scientology, where sympathy and compassion are outlawed

Tonight’s episode of Scientology and the Aftermath packed quite a punch for us, even though we were already pretty familiar with both stories that Leah Remini and Mike Rinder tell in this, the second installment of the second season.

DOX: The full FBI file from its 2009-2010 human trafficking investigation of Scientology

[What an FBI raid based on these documents might have looked like]

Several weeks ago, we got access to the FBI’s file on its 2009-2010 human trafficking investigation of the Church of Scientology when Melissa Cronin of RadarOnline shared her copy with us, with certain restrictions.
