Elisabeth shattering suppression: “There isn’t really any dogma or scripture, yes or no, right or wrong on that particular subject [homosexuality] in my church.”

The child of Scientologists, actress Elisabeth Moss may have the hottest career of any Scientologist in Hollywood at the moment. But it was her success as the lead in Hulu’s adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale that made Moss’s involvement in the church something of a media obsession. How could a Scientologist portray the victim of a totalitarian cult like that described in Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel?

We suspect she may actually take those questions seriously, and so it may pay off to keep asking them. Says our Celebrity Centre source: “Her mother is not really totally involved in the church. In fact, both of her parents are iffy. And Elisabeth is on the front lines with the public, and is around non-Scientologists a lot. If the right conditions came about, she’d be more likely to leave than others.”
