[Scientology attorney William Forman, and Danny Masterson]On February 8 there was a hearing in Danny Masterson’s rape case, and it received substantial coverage from the news media. Masterson’s motion to have the charges against him thrown out was denied by Judge Ronald Coen. The parties then moved down the hall to the trial court of Judge Charlaine Olmedo, who quashed a new set of duplicative subpoenas by Masterson’s new attorney, Shawn Holley. Arrests continue to be made in the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot as the FBI is still working to identify some of the individuals in the mob that stormed the building. The latest case unsealed was noted by news organizations because it involved an interesting couple who lived together in a home in Dunedin, Florida: Carol Kicinski, 67, who made a name for herself as a gluten-free chef, with a monthly TV show and also a magazine she’d founded, and Jon Heneghan, 57, a professional poker player.
