Paulette Cooper has a surprise for Scientology and the residents of a certain Florida town

Jamie_DeWolf_Paulette_Cooper2

Your proprietor spent Saturday recovering from the twisted Friday night put on by L. Ron Hubbard’s great-grandson, Jamie DeWolf, which included a three-hour circus at Chez Poulet in San Francisco.

Just before the trouble started, we snapped this photo backstage of DeWolf, “LRH,” and Paulette Cooper. It only got weirder from there.

Our book tour’s leg in California is finished, and we’re pretty exhausted and not really capable of doing much reporting right now. But we did want to fill you in on one small piece of news.

Finally, we can give you some details about next month’s appearance in Florida. We wanted to wait until the venue and time was securely nailed down before saying anything, for reasons you can appreciate. Now, we can reveal that on Sunday June 28, at 2 pm, your proprietor and Paulette Cooper will be making an appearance in none other than…

C L E A R W A T E R

Yes, just a few blocks away from Scientology’s spiritual headquarters in downtown Clearwater, Florida, we’ll be appearing with Paulette at the Clearwater Public Library, courtesy of the folks at Center for Inquiry-Tampa Bay, who have been so welcoming and have worked hard to make this happen.

See you there on June 28!

BOOK NOTES

3D-Unbreakable

NEW: Check out the interactive map to our ongoing tour.

We didn’t get a chance to include photos in our book, The Unbreakable Miss Lovely, so we’re posting them at the Underground Bunker. We’ve created a dedicated page for them, and we hope you go through them all, then come back here and tell us your thoughts!

Copies of the paperback version of ‘The Unbreakable Miss Lovely’ are on sale at Amazon. The Kindle edition is also available, and shipping instantly. Isn’t technology cool.

Our appearances…

June 11: New York City (with Paulette Cooper) We’re keeping the venue on the down-low at this point. If you’re interested in coming to this unique event — Paulette in New York talking about Scientology where her story began — drop us a line so we get an idea how many are coming.

June 20: Chicago, The Annoyance Theater, 5pm (with Christian Stolte) This event is SOLD OUT.

June 22 (event TBA) and 23 (“Getting Clear” conference): Toronto (with Paulette Cooper)

June 28: Clearwater, Florida (with Paulette Cooper)

July 12: Washington DC, Center for Inquiry

    Reposting from downthread:
In response to Sid: Someone feel like writing a parody? “These are a few of my fraudulent
things!” sung by Ellar H aboard the Apollo with Sea Org backup dancers

I posted this in fragments, now all together:

My Fradulent Things (sung to the tune of My Favorite Things by a character representing DM)

    *cue the music*

Thetans and Xenu and yelling at ashtrays,
Bull-baiting, Oh-SA, and curing of all gays,
Stalking Paulette, and to jail we will bring,
These are a few of my fraudulent things.

Sea Orgers working for pennies an hour,
Fearful ‘cuz COB’s starting to glower,
Swearing at minions and pulling of strings,
These are a few of my fraudulent things.

    Chorus:
    When the press squawks,
    Tony’s book tour,
    Going Clear makes me mad,
I simply remember my fraudulent things,
And that makes me feel, so bad!

    Verse 3:
Disconnection for people not following orders
Hiding the money outside of the borders
Every last penny from public we wring
These are a few of my fraudulent things…

    Chorus:
    When the press squawks,
    Tony’s book tour,
    Going Clear makes me mad,
I simply remember my fraudulent things,
And that makes me feel, so baaaaaaaad!

      Applause!

    • MaxSpaceman

      Beautiful !
Who is the “someone” who felt like doing eeet ?

      • SarahDB

        I was inspired 😉

I was guessing ’twas usted. But no one could be certain till now 🙂

    • Sid

      This is amazing!

      * standing ovation *

  • anoni81b4u

These brainwashed fools (scientologists) are going to clear the world now, right after they clear the library that is two doors down from the largest collection of scientology real estate outside of California. The only way it could be worse is if the had rented out the fort Harrison banquet area. NICE FUCKING WORK … stupidtology 🙂
    GOING CLEAR ?

    • Skabetti

      Keith Swindlington. Love it!

    • Mockingbird

Hey ! Kirstie Alley said she is not brainwashed ! So, now who looks foolish !

  • Robert Hammond

O/T. I posted this late last night on yesterday’s blog so it probably got missed. You may have seen it before, but I thought it was a good example of how Scientology plays on people’s fears and hopes to make money, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aRFfWSGQEk

    • TheHoleDoesNotExist

Also known as OT 10 (dogs) and OT 11 (cats). Aha! Some of you were convinced these don’t exist, weren’t you? Funny stuff, thanks. And sadly, this has every possibility of actually being the next best scamming ploy.

      • Robert Hammond

This is funny. I just happened across it late last night. The video that follows on the youtube track was also interesting. Highlights the disconnection policy. Not sure if it came up automatically, but here it is again. (Refresh) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKI1VmK-MA8

I love these. Thanks for doing this.

    • skiesareblue

I’m so honoured to be part of your collage, Pan.
      Beautiful.

  • InClearwater

So do we need to buy tickets or just show up? Happy as a clam.

    • Sid

Typically a library book signing is a ‘just show up’ affair.

      • InClearwater

That’s what I’m thinking, Sid, but I don’t want to take anything for granted. I will be there, even knowing that *they* will be collecting data and filming. It is time for me to do what others have done, which is to stop being so fearful and stand up and be counted as on the opposite side from where “they” are.

        • Sid

          I’m with you there.

          • InClearwater

Looking forward to meeting all who come!

        • PickAnotherID

Bring a camera and film them back. One with a heavy duty flash.

        • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

The more people, the better it will be for us all. They count on our fears and cringe when people stand up for themselves. Thanks for standing up with us.

          • InClearwater

Dee, I already revealed my real name to you. You’ll be the only person I recognize, and I fully hope to introduce myself to you. You are right — the more, the better. And it pisses me off no end to recognize I am afraid. Oh, well.

During the time I was reporting the McPherson civil trial, I had a Scientologist who I totally, completely did not recognize come up to me after a hearing. Had never seen him at any of the hearings. He repeated a couple lines to me, from a conversation that my husband and I had had recently in our home. Then he laughed like hell and said: “And people think that we bug their homes!”

THAT is when I got pissed. And that is also when I thought I must be imagining things and totally off my rocker. Still decided to go home and tell my significant other that we needed to go for a walk and told him what I suspected.

Meh. More to the story, but I’ll stop there, except to note that each and every time I farted in the privacy of my home, I announced it: “Hear that? That fart was for you!” Cheers, y’all!

            • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

Ashamedly, I don’t remember your name, so yes, please come to me when you see me. I’m very bad at remembering names until I meet someone or have lots of convos, even then, with age it takes me awhile for facts to turn verbal. Once we meet less prob.

I’m sorry I missed the trials and yes, no doubt if you were reporting, they certainly would be on your tail. Love to talk private sometime and maybe give you some pointers if needed. dfindlay@knology.net.

        • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

Them’s warrior words! Good for you 🙂

    • The clams are far from happy about this XD

  • Graham

UK Bunkeroos. I know we got excited about this flyer, publicising a showing of ‘Going Clear’ in London http://goingclear.splashthat.com/ I did e-mail them a couple of days ago to ask about prices and whether this might be a ‘members only’ showing, but sadly no response to date. Does anyone else have any info?

  • MF

Don’t call Flag “Scientology’s spiritual headquarters”, there is nothing spiritual there, they’re just parting fools from their money… 😉

    • Robert Hammond

Don’t they consider conning people out of money, breaking up families, and telling lies to be religious sacraments?

    • Missionary Kid

I disagree. It is spiritual. Evil spiritual. 😉

  • RK

I read your book, Tony, pretty much in one sitting. It filled many blanks for me. I remember an order for all org and mission staff to collect signatures for a petition calling for an investigation of Interpol. This had to be done over our dinner break or on our day off. I hate that i was made to be a tool in the Guardians Office’s convoluted campaigns. I hate that, when I asked our local G.O. people if the Church had broken laws, me and other members were constantly lied to.

    • TheHoleDoesNotExist

When Mr. Hole got to that section in the book, he reminded me I had done a commercial, a commercial!, for CCHR about the evils of Interpol. The GO staff member who was actually orchestrating it and worked me was Mike Cason. I had forgotten all about it all these years. I just went back to my corner and cringed for a couple of hours.

      • Eileen

“worked me… “, reminds me of Claire Headley saying that “…Shelley ran me”. Are these scio terms for managers? I’ve never heard terms like these in the workplace. Dehumanizing.

      • stillgrace2

THDNE, that reminds me of the time CH put himself in the penalty box for the rest of the day. However, you ARE a warrior, you know, and fighting the good fight. Don’t stay in the corner for long!

        • TheHoleDoesNotExist

thanks, and at least there was no you tube at that time!

          • Missionary Kid

The good news is that they can never use that commercial again because you’ve blown.

Pope Missionary Kid gives you absolution for your past deeds because you woke up and are doing well and good here.

            • TheHoleDoesNotExist

There’s a lot of crap I didn’t do, and like most, unaware of most too. But anything that helped get people into the orgs or paying up – gahhh.

So thank you Pope MK. 🙂 You are a sweet man, and so glad to got to the book tour.

            • Missionary Kid

I wish I could be with you in Florida when the TUML tour hits town, I think it’s gonna be fun.

When you were pulling people in, you were a different person. You weren’t doing something illegal.

              Regrettable, but not illegal.

  • Baby

Looked through old Clearwater photos..and this was the Opening of the Super Power Building..I took this picture for 2 reasons.. Check the Crowd.. hahhaha Wouldn’t you think that with 50,000 attendees there would be more of a hustle and bustle?

And OK .. so others could not look to see the number ( or lack of) of attendees .. a fence like structure was put up around the perimeter.. but outsiders could see the Crap through the bottom gap. So that was a giant fail.. because it absolutely looked like

” Junky Joes” as you looked at it from the street.. and all the $ that was spent at Flag celebration this is what people saw when they went to the opening.. It was so bad.. SO UGLY.. You could see the guard checking everyone out.. ha..

    • InClearwater

Do NOT miss that ugly tent. It was an abomination. So glad it only happened one time.

Hey, Mayor and commissioners, if you read this blog: My thoughts are that you should cut out the cult part of your town surrounding Flag and Super Power. Give it to them. They have devastated downtown. That area where they are located? Death town. Ghost town. And it reaches it tentacles outward. Looking forward to the people visiting Clearwater 6/28 who can see that for themselves and know that I speak the truth. Take pics of all the empty shells of businesses and buildings in downtown Clearwater. Take pics that include the expensive “beautification” of the downtown streets and the curves they added. All for nothing.

      • Baby

Absolutely CW… What they have done to that City is absolutely Sickening.. It is a Ghost town..businesses closing right and left..

I will be there CW.. Wouldn’t miss it for the world..xo can’t wait.. baby

        • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

          Me too, Baby!

          • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

If I can grow wings in time, please may I share your bed again, Mama Bear? I am jellier than a jelly to be missing out!

            • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

              Anytime, Betty Bear!

            • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

I love you more than Lord of the Rings 😀

            • Baby

Now you know how I felt Missy May when you were OVER THERE without me.. boo hoo..Jelly belly I was

        • MrsLurksALot

Oh, Baby. I wish I could be there with you guys. You all kick ass and I admire your gumption and grit. Plus, it seems like you are all hilarious and would be a rollicking good time. I’m so sad to be geographically screwed, so to speak. No book tour for me, unless DC works out, fingers crossed.

          • Baby

Shit Holly.. I would love to have you there with us.. damn.. I will keep my fingers crossed for DC.. xox baby

      • TheHoleDoesNotExist

And yet they spend all that taxpayer money for figuring out why it’s not developing. Jeesh. I hope Going Clear is available on a DVD so I can send it to the Mayor and to the City Council. For thus of us who live in this county, it’s time these officials realize how repugnant their refusal to deal with their rich sociopath properly. Clearwater Beach is going to have to annex themselves and very, very soon.

        • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

I’d love to see them annex. Some have tried and failed in the past. Well, money and power come from the beach and the city they won’t let that go, yet!

          • TheHoleDoesNotExist

Let’s hope all those hotel owners watched Going Clear! They just might now.

      • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

I agree, take pictures of the lovely street scape we tax payers payed for and all the empty store fronts on both sides of the street. OK, only one block next to the Capital Theatre is rented and all the rest are sore spots. The city must have been thinking like the scios, build (redesign streets) and they will come, no, they haven’t and won’t. They even took away all the benches one could sit on while strolling downtown.

    • ze moo

It looks like an episode of ‘Storage Wars’, you know, that idiot show where people buy a storage locker and find treasure. Treasure like old bowling trophies and Survival Rundown certificates.

      • Baby

We just couldn’t believe how junky it looked..Yes.. A cross between Storage Wars and Hoarders Ze..

CPO Don Delusion: “Captain Miscavige! The SP’s are coming to Clearwater!”

Captain Miscavige: “&^*$*^%& SP’s! Quickly! Raise $100,000,000 to run Scientology commercials on Gilligan’s Island!”

CPO Don Delusion: “Sir, that show’s been off the air for decades!”

Captain Miscavige: “Don’t backflash me Delusion! Raise another $100,000,000 fro KCET to get new episodes of Gilligan’s Island back on the air and then run Scientology commercials! Surveys show people love Gilligan’s Island!”

CPO Don Delusion: “Sir, most of the original cast are dead!”

Captain Miscavige: “See how Delusion looks at me?! I have to do everything myself! Get Tom Cruise to play Gilligan. Bob and Trish Duggan can play Thurston Howell and Mrs. Howell. Kirstie Alley can play Ginger. JennyAtLAX can play Mary Anne.”

CPO Don Delusion: “Sir, who plays the Skipper?”

    Captain Miscavige: “Skip Press.”

CPO Don Delusion: “Sir, Skip Press blew a long time ago.”

Captain Miscavige: “^$%#*^& no one told me. Then I want John Travolta to play the Skipper. Don’t tell that ^%*I& SP Travolta he was my second choice…”

    • Sid

Well, there goes the old Ginger or Mary Anne thing. Won’t be a meme any more after this.

      • Michael Leonard Tilse

If I could get a few gallons of crazy bleach, I’d still go for Mary Anne. But I’m afraid that JennyAtLAX has crazy bleach immunity or there would be nothing left that’s not crazy. It’d be like the evil witch from Wizard of OZ melting.

      • Mockingbird

They are both smoking hot .Oh, was I not supposed to be honest ?

    • Mockingbird

OMG, he is fucking losing it…

    • stanrogers

Old Yellowstain was heard to mutter, “Something something strawberries…”

    • I want to $%#%@ play Ginger! I played Mary Anne last time. Jenna Elfman, what a %#$@& bitch; she always gets the good parts.

      • OTVIIIisGrrr8!

JennyAtLAX the only reason you’re even getting a part on the new Scientology-themed Gilligan’s Island is because COB needs you to spy on the other cast members and write KR’s as needed.

In the first episode you get to sec check the Skipper on what Ev Purps he had to turn a “three hour tour” into getting hopelessly lost and shipwrecked on a deserted island.

  • nottrue

Total freedom…Just don’t try to make a run for it…

  • PickAnotherID

I’ve been thinking about Fred G. Haseney’s report down below, and for some reason the address where the security kerfloofel happened [1414 Catalina St.] is rattling around in what passes for my brain.

Didn’t some internet fiasco happen recently where an IP address was traced back to that address? Or am I thinking of something else?

    • Fred G. Haseney

Perhaps you’re talking about the Sea Org berthing on Fountain Ave., near Normandie, a few blocks west of PAC Base. That’s the location that popped up as being the IP address for the fake magazine writer who asked Paul Haggis for an interview. I’m recalling this from memory, so maybe it’s not exactly what happened, but that’s the gist of it.

      • PickAnotherID

Yeah, that’s it for the IP address thing. But for some reason Catalina St is tickling the back of my memory.

        • Fred G. Haseney

A murder occurred near or at the end of Catalina St., and Fountain Ave., that involved the Auditor Editor at ASHO, her husband, and Mike Rinder, a new Sea Org member who drove her home that night.

EDIT: that might have been at Edgemont, one block west of Catalina.

          • PickAnotherID

Wow! Never heard about that. What I’m thinking about would be more recent, but I’m having a “senior moment” and can’t quite dredge it up.

          • TheHoleDoesNotExist

You talking about Marty Rathbun and the incident of the husband killing his wife, right? If so, not Mike, it was Marty.

          • Kat

I’ve never heard of this before. Is there anywhere that Marty talks about this?

            • Fred G. Haseney

I’m not aware of Marty having spoken about this; Lawrence Wright does in his book, Going Clear.

          • Robert Eckert

            Not Rinder, Rathbun.

          • Anonymous

John Coletto murdered his wife Diane, who was then the CO of PUBS Org, which is now known as Bridge.

Marty was with Diane as a bodyguard because John (who was OT III) had gone nuts and had been declared. They were going through a divorce…Sea Org style, where everything is always worse than it needs to be.

There is a great deal of stuff on the web about this – much of the best is written by Jessie Prince.

When this happened it was a flap of magnitude, but quickly hushed up (at least inside)…as are most tragedies in Scientology.

  • Sarah James

    Clearwater! Hahaha…:-)

  • Panopea Abrupta

$cilon troll and disdainer of logic, debate or real communication,
elle (not to be con-fused with our own Elle)
haunts the comments sections, attempting to spin the current ocean
of entheta that is overwhelming and threatening to engulf the Clampire.

She recently accused us Bunkeroos of con-stituting a coven.
Since $cientology is a “Church” that, according to Alex Gibney,
has some entomological issues, I instantly thought that she and her ilk
have at core in their “cosmology”
the ARC of the Coven Ant.

Here is the Coven Ant of $cientology – for Howdy, CO$CUZ and M. le Cardinal:
    KA, DM, EC,
    Jenny at LAX, TubbyFlubbyRummyHubby, GC,
    TD, TC,Dingaling

    • Robert Hammond

Brilliant as usual. Could elle be doing some kind of A to E amends for questions she must have after looking at all that entheta? Perhaps she’s doing all her dirty work from the RPF.

Or maybe she might see the light some day like our own Tory McGoo 44 who realized that we wogs are not all dogs.

    • Dagnabit

Hideously Halloween-ish. Please re-post Oct 31 if not before.

    • Skabetti

I thought a coven was made of thirteen. Are there really only 13 of us? I do hope she stays and reads on, however. She’s probably just doing her job. All witches, lurkers and trolls are welcome.

To all those in the UK. Just seen a rather long Scientology advert on TV, London-Live (channel 8). Arrrggghhh. Anyone else catch it? Had images of their volunteer ministers included. The one with the two guys carrying a stretcher. Disturbing!

    • Graham

London Live. Is that the channel that Private Eye’s always taking the piss out of because its audience figures are virtually zero? Presumably only broadcasts within the capital? The ASA has accepted our complaints about the VM press ads. Is there any mileage in also bringing their attention to these TV ads? A bit of a farce that we complained a couple of months ago, yet there’s still been no adjudication and meanwhile they continue to advertise their VM scam. Scientology- even when they lose they win.

      • Dolly Jones

Hi Graham. Not sure if that is the Private Eye one. I wouldn’t be surprised though as they tend to just show repeats of old comedy stuff. The advert I caught tonight was during an episode of 2012. So hardly prime time viewing material, and yes just Londoners (so potentially just the 8 million viewers then lol).

To complain about it we would have to catch it again and record. I watched whole thing and still don’t know what it was saying. Lots of images with written words about educating and helping the world. VERY vague. Taken aback to see it. Wish I could remember more about it but it was just so wishy washy. Agree with you… The ASA seem to be dragging their feet. Hopefully not long to go now.

        • Graham

Hi Dolly. Pretty certain it is the Private Eye one. Apparently the viewing figures are so dire that at certain times of the day the numbers are below the minimum for the ratings system to record. Thus it probably costs peanuts to advertise on. Depending on the time of day, you might have been the only person watching!

Googling ‘London Live viewing figures’ gives some interesting results. (Tried posting links here but Disqus won’t allow for some reason).

Ha, to the thought of me being the only person to see it! Makes you wonder why they bothered.

I’ll look up the viewing figures.

            • Graham

Why they bothered? As usual it’ll be more for those inside the bubble than anyone else. “Look! We’ve been advertising on prime-time UK TV. Send more donations now!”

            • Dolly Jones

Oh I mean in light of the viewing figures for that particular channel. Didn’t see any others shown that night. I will be on the look out for them now. Ready to press the record button and figure out if there is anything we can complain about. 🙂

  • Michael Leonard Tilse

Over on Mike Rinder’s Blog, Fred Rice posted about asking the IRS (under the FOI Act) for an internal IRS document, the Report Of Investigation done internally regarding the IRS granting the tax exempt status to Scientology. They at first denied it existed and after that refused, etc. I think this is something that many people should make their congressmen aware of: That there is this specific document they are hiding: TIGTA Report Of Investigation (ROI) # 8-9801-0002

    Fred’s post:

    Fredric L. Rice says
    May 24, 2015 at 11:38 am
In the aftermath of Fred Goldburg having granted the criminal enterprise tax exemption as a fake “charity,” there was an internal investigation in to the possibility of asking for possible criminal charges to be sought through the IRS’s DAs and CID against individuals responsible for the fraudulent exemption within the IRS, due to the possibility of racketeering, blackmail, and extortion Scientology was proven (to the satisfaction of some Treasury and IRS employees) to have committed against Goldburg and others to “leverage” that fraudulent exemption.
The ROI — Report Of Investigation — which resulted is supposed to be public record. Such documents are almost always public record and can be retrieved through a Freedom Of Information Act request which has almost always been honored right up until this particular ROI..
The first time I requested the ROI I was informed that the document I was requested did not exist. I appealed noting (for the same time) that I knew the document existed and I once again gave its number. The second time (my first appeal) I was informed that the document did exist (I knew that) however it could not be released doe to the document containing “sensitive information related to national security.”
I appealed a second time, informing the IRS FOIA office that I knew damn well that the document had nothing to do with “national security” and I detailed my understanding of what was in the document. The IRS eventually replied that they could not provide the document because it “contains return information.”
My second appeal informed the IRS once again that I was aware that the document did *not* contain someone’s tax return information, that I knew the document covered an investigation in to possible racketeering committed by Scientology against Goldburg and possibly other IRS officials and that the document reported the results of the investigation, including a summary of Goldburg’s refusal to submit to serious interrogation with police detective and IRS CID personnel present.
My second appeal was ignored. So I went from
    1: That document doesn’t exist
2: That document is National Security, denied
3: That document is a tax return, denied
4: We can’t hear you any more
This is the first response that I got from the IRS, typed in to a.r.s back in 2003, I believe it was. In my paper archives stored off site in Nevada I have the other denial letters which I need to retrieve and scan in to the computer and share — along with a Department of State letter indicating that Federal authorities are still searching for Heber Jentzsch to physically extradite him back to Spain to stand trial.
    -=-
This is in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated September 7, 2001, seeking access to records maintained by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA.)
We received your request on September 18, 2001. Specifically, you asked for a copy of TIGTA report “9-9801-0002″ and “additional investigative documentation both public and private which covers allegations both confirmed and suspected of blackmail, extortion, and other traditional racketeering activities instigated by the Church of Scientology which may have motivated the Closing Agreement.”
A review of the TIGTA indices revealed that one (1) file is responsive to your request for a copy of TIGTA report “8-9801-0002.” TIGTA Report Of Investigation (ROI) # 8-9801-0002 consists of one hundred and twenty-three (123) pages. Sixty-two (62) of these pages constitute information which originated with the IRS; we are therefore referring those pages to the IRS for a release determination and a direct reply to you.
If you have any questions concerning these records, you may contact that agency at the following address:
    Internal Revenue Service
HQ Disclosure Office
CL:GLD:A2:HQD
Room 1571
1111 Constitution Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20224
    -=-
I should note that it took two and a half years to get the IRS and U. S. Treasury to deny releasing the document and then stop responding to my demands. The ROI is public record but obviously the IRS does not want the document to be released in to the public domain.

So much for Freedom Of Information Act.. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh

Just what is it they want to hide.. Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..

    • PickAnotherID

Maybe this should be passed to the Congress person who sent more than a canned response the other day. The one who thinks maybe there is something to investigate. Having one of those days, can’t remember the name, but it was posted here on the Bunker.

      • Free Minds, Free Hearts

It was Mike Thompson, his letter is on Mike Rinder’s blog today.

    • TheHoleDoesNotExist

Here’s what you’ll get back, because this has been done before: They can’t release it because it’s a matter of national security.

      • Michael Leonard Tilse

I do agree with you. I think that other FOIA requests can be made by individuals such as ourselves. And likely turned down on that or other basis. But:

Congresspersons, Senators, Representatives, State Attorney’s General, etc., are much harder for the IRS to ignore or give blanket denials to.

Particularly Senators and Representatives who are on committees such as Ways and Means, National Intelligence and other bodies who have security clearances and need to know.

So, I would not only ask your Senators and Representatives, including Ron Wyden here in Oregon to themselves look into it. I would file the IRS form 13909 and specifically reference this document number as containing information that may bear on the Tax Exempt Status of the Scientology Organizations. http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f13909.pdf

The public awareness of the issue is at an all time high. Making this document’s release and investigation a public issue in many public forums such as our own beloved Tonyortega.com as well as many other major and minor media vectors has a new chance of being taken up and looked at.

        • TheHoleDoesNotExist

The current problem, besides political will, is funding. The iRS is swamped with too little funds and staff. But I agree everyone should keep writing, requesting, all of it. If will all be on record if an in dst intp0ot he IRS happens.

      • Observer

National security?! What, did Miscavige threaten to nuke IRS headquarters if it were ever released?

        • NOLAGirl (Stephanie)

I don’t understand this either. Do they think we don’t already know how spineless they were? Worried that more people will find out that rather than kicking Scientology’s ass for the harassment, they bent over and gave Dave whatever he wanted.

Ugh!! More ranty-type letters coming from me this week.

        • TheHoleDoesNotExist

          Its crazy, aint it?

          • TheHoleDoesNotExist

Then again, the whole thing is nuts and shady and remarkably unfair to taxpayers.

        • Michael Leonard Tilse

Just looking at possibilities and I think what if? What if: The internal investigation discovered that persons such as the director of the IRS and others HAD been compromised by the Scientology campaign of private investigations which had discovered compromising information and possibly even by setting up compromising situations.

Well, that could be an issue. An administration doesn’t want anyone to know how easy that was accomplished. And What If: The internal investigation had discovered that Scientology had developed not only information that compromised the IRS but other agencies or Governmental figures? That could be very sensitive information.

What if the compromising information (leverage) that Scientology had discovered/created was not only for the IRS but maybe even reached to the highest levels of the current Administrations? Would not the easiest and safest thing to do was to give Scientology what it wanted so as to avoid a real National Security incident? And keep other Governments or agencies who might want similar perks guessing?

Or was it just hiding public embarrassment that a minor group of cult followers could have so easily gotten inside the Government Bureaucracy and done so much damage?

It’s over 20 years later. Those administrations are gone. Many of the bureaucrats of those agencies are gone. Let’s get this out into the light. Especially so that current and future administrations and public figures no longer have to bow to Hemet.

    • Matt in Atlanta

OK. How do we make this happen? Denial of an FOIA request is kind of a big deal.

      • ze moo

It will take a lawyer and some big bucks to move this, a member of congress could get it done.

    • Free Minds, Free Hearts

That is an excellent comment by Frederic Rice. Thanks.

Long-time Bunkeroos will remember Fred under the handle “DamOTClese” (nowadays he works up in the Angeles National Forest and he often posted soothing pictures)

Typical South Louisiana, set something up outside and you’re almost guaranteed it will rain. 🙂 Perhaps a nap? (F5)

Stay safe, Nola and have another cocktail. We just returned from a lovely trip ourselves. Family, friends and remembrance of the sacrifices by our men and women in uniform, as well as their families. Glasses were raised in their honor. Now, I’ll raise a glass to The Bunker, because, why not? I feel like The Bunker is on the front lines, so to speak, in the fight against the evils of the CoS. Fight on, Bunker.

    • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

Just to reminisce, when I returned after 30 years out and it was New Years Eve, first event going to.. they kept saying Oh Cilly B was going to be there, like he was the greatest. I had never heard of him and called him chilly bean for a year. I opted out of the dancing and music after hearing it and went my own way to look around the Fort. ’twas a lonely place, except for being introduced from my then pal Ben to Peter Mansell, who gave me the dark evil eye, tho friendly. I used to be frightened by the deep look scios gave, but no longer, thank Xenu.

      • Vaquera

At this point, his moniker should be Silly Bee.

      • Baby

hahah.. OMG Rev Dee you always make me laugh.. Chilly Bean..hahahhaha

        • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

Hi Baby, got up late and was on the Bunker all afternoon with the good news about CW. I just forgot about anything else and tied to the computer. Heard a knock on the door, looked out, no car. Here was my neighbor with both my Sunday newspapers from the lawn. They worried about me since I went to the hospital awhile back. So now I have to make sure and pick them up each day so they know all is well. Nice neighbors, huh? I don’t even read the papers anymore, but they make like good insurance and I get them on the cheap.

          • aquaclara

And then when you aren’t looking, some great TBT reporter pops in with a great story. I keep thinking that the Truth Rundown needs to reappear, but really, the news is already right here at the Bunker. It would be very cool if they would give Tony a column. Coffee and the morning puzzle would be ever so much more fun.

            • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

It’s so great now, between the bunker and sometimes FB, I get the news before it’s even printed. I used to have a friend save me clippings since I only get the Sunday TBT. She doesn’t need anymore b’cause I’m always way ahead from the net.

I’m grateful that people find and provide links to articles so soon as I ‘m not into that yet, just mainly the Bunker and Bunkerites. Helps get the tweets out sooner too.
Too cool if they gave Tony a column. Sorry to not see much in the TBT and not with the quality and interest of previous writers.

          • Baby

Your neighbors are something else.. I don’t even know mine..

    • Rasha

As has been noted before by someone much cleverer than I, note the so-called scales in their logo. A true balance has a single fixed POINT, on which the two sides are equal, to be used for judging the mass, and by analogy, importance of one side over another…

NOT a tightly closed fist, which not only prevents a Balanced measurement, but controls the scales by its own, however clumsy, movements. It is therefore not a scale, and serves no purpose. Kinda like Scientology front groups, in more than one way.

      Just sayin’.

So even better than OT parking space powers, this happened. True story. After just visiting the Civil Rights Museum, finishing the autobiography of Martin Luther King Jr, and trying to learn about what I never learned in history classes, on the left of my car, very close to my house, this bus pulled up. It was the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Rides. I can’t even describe the feeling of momentousness chills.
So last night I was joking that whenever and wherever the Florida event happens we should get an RV and get a huge decal with the Unbreakable Miss Lovely. ( inspired by the idea of the freedom riders bus) And then the announcement today!!!! I think this is a sign from the universe saying that we the bunker need to make my plan happen! Or just a funny coincidence, I’m never really sure;)
F5 for the cell phone pic of the bus, I apologize I have no idea how bad or good this will render. But it is pretty awesome to see if you haven’t seen it.

OT but I just had lunch with an old friend who went to school with Joe and Matt Feschbach. He actually went to an introductory course with them, maybe 40 years ago or so, in Menlo Park. He liked the first course, which he said was $50 which was a lot at the time, but said almost immediately there was pressure to take more courses, and pictures of LRH everywhere which he found increasingly creepy and left at that point. By the way he has an extremely successful career and long time happy marriage, kids, etc. Can’t say the same for the Feschbachs, I guess Joe died a few years ago.

Betty is right! That asparagus looks so good I want to just pick it up with my fingers!

    • NOLAGirl (Stephanie)

Looks delicious. Enjoy while basking in the fact that so much SP-ness is coming to town. ; ) Too bad Dave won’t be there, I think he’ll be hiding on the FleaBag.

    • Rasha

you had me at Ginger Garlic Chicken…..

    • PickAnotherID

Looks yummy! We’ll be having “Fireman’s Clam Chowder” (clear broth), steamed clams, corn on the clobber, clam fritters (sort of like a hush puppy with clams, only bigger), onions baked with butter & mint, slaw, and grilled chicken with picante’ sauce.

    • Supper Powers

Looks like you have supper powers, too.

    • aquaclara

      That looks totally delish.

    • lmnop

That looks SO GOOD! It shouldn’t look that good, I already ate, had the best hamburger and fries at Five Guys Burger and Fries, but that chicken looks good…

I had a lovely date with Miss Lovely today. I took her all around downtown St. Louis. We went to the park, historic buildings, lunch. It was a perfect afternoon until I got fresh and she slammed the door in my face 🙁 I think she was just being coy, she’ll call.

As I waited for her in front of the Old Courthouse I snapped this pic. You know they use to sell slaves on these steps. Now they just sell tourists.

*gasp* Miss Lovely is finally here! Who do you have with you Miss Lovely? Oh, happy to meet your older sister, Scandal of Scientology. (awkward!) Isn’t the Arch beautiful Miss Lovely?

Let me show you beautiful downtown St. Louis Miss Lovely. This is the Civil Court building, isn’t it grand?

Right over here is City Garden. It’s only a few years old and has lots of sculptures as well as a play area for kids. What’s that? You don’t like children? Oh, I see 🙁

Come checkout this granite wall! Peek-a-boo, I see you!

I just love this installation don’t you? You’re so photogenic! Oh, hi Scandal *rolling eyes*

Sure we can go, just let me show you this one last sculpture. It’s a hoot right!?

Here’s the old post office. You love old buildings too? We have so much in common! I hope this afternoon never ends.

Are you hungry cuz I’m starved. I know this great little mediterranean joint, hope you like falafel and shwarma! Oops, you got a little tzatziki sauce riiight..here let me get that. *blush*

Boy I’m stuffed! Just one more building I swear! This is the Orpheum Theatre. It’s closed now but when it reopens I’m gonna be first in line. Sure, I’d love to take you!

Let’s hop on the Metro, I have a huge surprise for you! Trust me, you’re gonna love it.

Busch Stadium and the Cardinals! You’re right, they’re not playing but I pulled a few strings and got us a private game. It’s no biggie.

Sorry I threw up on you *shame* Nachos and Budweiser always do that to me . You were really sweet about it, thanks. No you don’t smell like puke at all. Could I take a pic of you in front of the Peabody Opera house bear?

I bought these for you, i hope you like them. What? No, I didn’t just find them behind the bushes!

Well, here we are. I had a great time, let’s do this again real soon ok? *awkward silence* *just do it Fly, she’s into you!*

“FRESH!” – Miss Lovely. *SMACK!* Wow, I did not see that coming. MISS LOVELY, I’M SORRY PLEASE DON’T GO!

*SLAMS DOOR!* Well, I think that went really well. Ok, I’ll call you!

    • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

SO MANY BRILLIANT PHOTOS! Miss Lovely shared your lunch!!

      • MaxSpaceman

Uh-yea-uh, “Sorry I threw up on you *shame* Nachos and Budweiser always do that to me . You were really sweet about it, thanks”

        Too hilarious !

    • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

Oh my god, I hadn’t even read your date review. I’m howling with laughter! 😛

      • flyonthewall

stupid discus put it all out of order *sigh* oh well

        • Andrea ‘i-Betty’ Garner

It makes no difference at all. A work of literary genius, my friend!

    • TheHoleDoesNotExist

      That’s a lotta landmarks!

      • flyonthewall

hey you going to the CW library to see Tony and Paulette?

        • TheHoleDoesNotExist

But of course! Mr H and I knew some of those GO devils in st Louis days, and a couple other from florida, work related.

          • flyonthewall

Will do. Gotta run out atm, will tomorrow.

    • flyonthewall

and thanks for fucking up all my pics and putting them out of order Discus

    • Rasha

I just know that when the door shut, she leaned back against it and slid to the floor, hand over heart…

      • flyonthewall

        damn right she did!

    • Rasha

      “Oh, Hi, Scandal!” LOLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!

      • SarahDB

That DID look like an awkward moment!

    • beauty for ashes

The first thing I thought is ~ your kids must get the best stories made up for them! So creative and funny!

      • flyonthewall

yeah, they just think I’m crazy 🙂 They held the books and went around with me today doing this. We had a lot of fun

        • beauty for ashes

Seriously~ they may call you crazy now, but the gift of imagination? **priceless**

    • Jimmy3

SHES ONLY DATING YOU BECAUSE I TURNED HER DOWN

      • Jimmy3

But this was awesome. Truly great work

      • flyonthewall

I could of gone my whole life w/o knowing that and having my ego intact. But thanks for bringing me back down to earth. I’m lucky to have you as a friend

      • flyonthewall

Really pisses me off Discus fuct up the order like that. I guess you still get the drift though?

        • Jimmy3

I can still tell which picture coordinates with each item, yeah. Discus is a dick, but this is still hilarious. You’ve been killing it lately.

          • flyonthewall

            F5

            • flyonthewall

oh congrats Discus! You put my one pic in the right order, good for you you fuckin’ retard

        • Douglas D. Douglas

Happens all the time. I mean, when you take the time and care to sort, crop, upload and describe them, then it all goes to hell in a handbasket…

          • flyonthewall

I know right. Must be some kind of effort meter that Discus has to gauge how much work you put into something so that it can be sure screw it up at a comparable level

        • Shanester

I took the liberty of re-posting your story on Imgur (along with the other Miss Lovely photo albums) with your pictures in the correct order (pretty sure). Too good not to memorialize. (Let me know if you’d rather not have it be on Imgur, though).

Fly’s Date with Miss Lovely in St. Louis Photo Album on Imgur

          • flyonthewall

I’m really flattered that you would do that, thnx Shane. It must have taken some time and effort. You got the pix exactly right too, bravo!

        • Baby

      • aegerprimo

That was cool, but the sad bear sculpture brought a tear to my eye. Thank you Fly for sharing these wonderful pics!

        • flyonthewall

Thnx for enjoying them! Me and the kids had a blast taking them and making up a story 🙂

    • AintMizBahavin

      • flyonthewall

Sorry about your personal issue Aint, I hope it passes soon. Glad I could help you smile 🙂 I know I’ve really arrived when I’ve made it to Aint’s list in the co of Baby and other luminaries! We have a lot of fun here don’t we? We are lucky to have such an awesome group.

Cropped the photo I posted about the crappy junk that was behind the stupid fence that blocked the SP’s from seeing the attendees during the Opening of Super Power. No one noticed how it would look from the sidewalk or street.?

Everyone would have had to walk by this junk to get to the building.. Good Gawd.. It totally looked like junk city..

    • Rasha

I get the feeling it wasn’t to prevent the SP’s from seeing in……

eta: that pile of trash was no doubt covered by garish bunting and tablecloths on the other side…..

      • Baby

Rasha.. When I was doing art shows.. I had the tent set up.. but let’s say I just had the tables.. OMG I was always.. ALWAYS aware what my ” SPOT ” looked like on ALL sides..

This was nothing but Sloppy junk … ALL around the perimeter..YUCK

        • Beth

A good metaphor for scilontology mizz baby. All the mess dressed up and barely hidden from the clam parade but in plain view for the rest of the world to see. Like they have toilet paper stuck to their shoe at all times. To their tiny little toddler shoe.

          • Baby

Beth.. That is an absolutely fabulous analogy ..Wow.. You nailed it.. and yes you could NOT help but notice the mess..Unless your head was in a bubble..

          • Enturbulated Masterbator

Unless you are in SO since often times they have no toilet paper!

        • lmnop

That’s because you are a true artist

          • Baby

Awww you are a sweet bee.. The thought that someone approached my table and saw nothing but crap would be appalling to me..

I would have my art on Easels and the table had a full table cloth with supplies tucked underneath. I wouldn’t even have a bottle of water out.

Honestly their garbage was absolutely classless.

    • Mark

Wasn’t that when we thought we’d spotted some booze stuffed down beside the fence?

      • Rasha

…those were Bottle Thetans. Move along…..

        • Mark

I just like the thought of clams so bored out of their skulls at Shortarse’s huge opening they needed a drink to get through the day…

          • Rasha

and we need to let them know – they’re not alone!!

            • Mark

Next time someone could pipe cocktails under the fence.

    • Sid

That was the fence they put up without a permit.

      • Baby

Yep Sid ! ( Like no one would notice..ugh)

  • Jimmy3

Phony ass birds. Y’all can’t even fly. Let’s go Cavs.

    • Jimmy3

Gonna upvote myself. Don’t even care.

      • Tony Williams

We have a new drinking game in Atlanta: every time LeBron travels, we take a shot. At last report every package store in town was sold out!

        • Jimmy3

It’s called a crab dribble you fool!!! But when he was in Miami that was definitely traveling. 😉

          • Tony Williams

Okay, just for that I forgive your Cadavalier fanship!

            • Tony Williams

Interestingly, north-central Georgia is full of hawks. I wonder if there are any Cavaliers anywhere (save the teams there and in Virginia), ya know?

            • Jimmy3

I know there are Browns fans in every city. I used to live in Alexandria, and there were a couple Browns Backer bars. Dunno if the Cavs are as popular outside of Northeast Ohio. But with LeBron we probably get a lot of fair weather love.

            • Tony Williams

I just did jury time with an otherwise nice lady who was just a Lebron fan, and did not care what team he played for. Seems kinda limiting to me!

            • Jimmy3

It was funny to me how many people who have never even been to Florida suddenly became Miami Heat fans. It always reminded me of the old quote, “I’m going to become famous for inventing a way to punch someone in the face over the Internet.”

            • Tony Williams

Ha! Good game so far; I don’t mind getting beat, but we deserve one real Hawks game out of them before fishing season starts…

            • Jimmy3

They’re beating the hell out of Dellavedova.

            • Tony Williams

He’s asking for it; he keeps going right at our guy’s knees!

            • Jimmy3

No. Horford came down on him after the play! And he got straight up shoulder checked a few minutes ago.

              Flagrant 2

              Throw him out. gg

            • Tony Williams

They did. He earned it, I guess…

            • Tony Williams

I think we’re being rude to the other guests, though, and way OT, but not in a good way… Let’s enjoy the second half!

            • Jimmy3

Yeah. I’ve never really gone off-topic here before. This is a new adventure for me. But I think the people will be okay. Enjoy losing in the second half.

            • Tony Williams

Charles Barkley says the ball don’t lie; I say but Scientology does! And now we’re back on topic!

            • Jimmy3

I was distracted by the game, so I just now realized you probably meant real cavaliers. Yes, they are all over here.

            • Tony Williams

Lemme guess; you mean Chevy Cavaliers, don’t you?

            • Jimmy3

              Haha. Right

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I had to work for the oil truck today(driver went on vacation). So easy, without all that snow. I did stops that i know were a real bitch this winter and it was kind of strange to just back up the hill and fill them up. I can still see all that snow in my mind.

    • L. Wrong Hubturd

Do you ever get the fryer oil and the heating oil mixed up, Dude?

      • The Dude

Never….. Well thank zenu, heating oil is dyed red. LOL

        • Eileen

          Didn’t know that… Smart.

          • The Dude

            Little known fact.
Heating oil is the same as Diesel truck fuel, except it is dyed red. The government cannot tax home heating oil. But it can tax tuck fuel. Although they are the same, if you are caught by the DOT with red in your tank. BIG FINE and they call the IRS on your company.
            Strange huh?

            • Missionary Kid

I knew a salesman who had a rural territory to cover years ago, so he bought a diesel Mercedes and used heating oil in it.

    • aquaclara

Hope, all the snow is just a past engram. Get thee to a sec check ( and we won’t let you forget to write the check) to cure you of those out-ethics arctic memories that are keeping you off the Bridge.

Or, try the simple wog approach – enjoy your summer.

      • The Dude

I think I would like to just enjoy my day off tomorrow with The Little Dude and his new friend. We are going for a hike in The Blue Hills Reservation. Two miles up to the top where there is a old fort type thing with a spectacular view of Boston. After the parade that goes directly by my front door. Little Dude’s new buddy lost his Dad when he was a baby and he just came here from Brazil. His English is OK, but Little Dude speaks perfect Portuguese so we should be fine.
        I cannot wait!

        • aquaclara

The little Dude. How cute is that?! Enjoy….

        • Baby

Awwww.. New buddy for the little dude.. Nice of you to take him along Dude.. You are special. Have fun tomorrow..

I don’t know if Fly’s here right now, but he posted a completely ridiculous picture story of his disastrous fun date with Miss Lovely in lovely St. Louis. I of course only cared about adding a pic or two of St. Louis to the Travels photo album — but Fly included eighteen photos. And Disqus messed them all up.

And, as I mentioned, the story is ridiculous(ly funny).

So, it’s Sunday on a lazy Memorial Weekend (until the BBQ tomorrow, of course!) and I had a little extra time on my hands — and I already had an Imgur account with the other Miss Lovely photos, so I copied his story to his own special photo album, with everything in the correct order.

My absolute favorite artist.. Awww Vincent.. I wish I knew you.. such a sensitive ..Mentally ill man who only needed medication.

      • lmnop

One of my favorite too, I bought that book on van Gogh, it has many of the letters he wrote mostly to his brother (but also to friends and his sister) interspersed with pictures of many of his paintings, some drawings, the title is Vincent van Gogh by Vincent van Gogh. Includes commentary by art historian Victoria Charles. Something to carry around with me that makes life a little more interesting.

        • Baby

I have that book Bee.. I love it..

It was a beautiful day to be alive in the garden at the Getty, a Lovely Day! Happy Memorial Day to all!

    • Baby

OMG bee… Absolutely gorgeous.. Wow.. I miss my flowers in OHIO .. It is just too hot for me to garden in Florida.. Although Rev Dee’s Flowers are to Die for.. I don’t know how she does it..Too damn hot for me..

      • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

Baby, know what you mean but I do have lots of shade both front and back. Summer is worse for flowers, so many will go and summertime barron-ness will come except for some small ones. However, the rainy season will give me lovely green grass I can cut every week. Fun!

I’m still in Miss Lovely book, had to take a break. It’s just blowing me away. OMG what I’ve learned (even about myself) and how I feel for Paulette. My heart goes out to her, showering her with tears and bushels of diamonds.

        • Baby

I wasn’t talking about being too hot for flowers Rev. I was talkin about being too hot for ME to fiddle with them~ but you do ..and it amazes me how beautiful your gardens are and you just lovingly take care of them..

Yes..with company I grab Tony’s book when I can Dee.. I am almost done..It is absolutely riveting ..

          • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

You hot Baby, have enough to do and hands full! I get pleasure from flowers and I’ll bet you did too when painting them (in the A/C) which is even more creative. I didn’t get but 2 flowers from people when hubby passed as it just wasn’t thought of, so I went out and bought lots for myself. Ever since, I always like to have some around to smell and see.

I’m almost up to the 17th chapter but needed a break. Wow 2AM, better get to bed,
            Nite all.

            • Baby

I wondered what you were doing up so late girlfriend.. Night sweetie..

Good night and have a nice hike!

    • Baby

Oh have fun Dude.. with your little buddies..

  • Free Minds, Free Hearts

Ok so we had friends over tonight (after having a different separate friends over at brunch, we have been cooking and washing dishes all weekend but what fun!).

My friend asked what scientologists believe, do they believe in Jesus? And I said no, not Jesus, and when I told her about Xenu, the DC8s, the volcanoes, the implants, and the exorcisms she just stared at me. Just stared. I thought she would fall off her chair. She was stunned. She could not believe it. Mr Free just cracked up because of the look on her face. I wish I could have gotten a picture of it. Reminded me of what Tony said, if they told new recruits what they really believe no one would join,

    • Dave Reams

How could one be a new recruit in these times and not know?

I have often wondered the same thing. It seems you’d be pretty hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t AT LEAST think “Scientology, isn’t that the a I if cult with Tom cruise?” correct me if I am wrong.

        • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

You’re not wrong, but try this in your daily living. Ask a number of average strangers and ask them if they know, or what they think of scientology. I’d love to hear the results found. Then if they don’t have a negative thought about them, you can give them a head’s up!

          • Diane

Until last year, I just thought Scientology was something to laugh at–that cooky religion that Tom Cruise is in…harmless. I had no idea about the things they do. And I had no clue that Dianetics was tied to Scientology. Only thing I knew about Dianetics is that people used to call me that in high school, because my name is Diane and high school is when that Volcano commercial played all the time. Also, my Dad had a copy of it, but he pretty much just kept his ash tray on top of it. I don’t think he ever read it.

            • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

              Good for both of you.

          • Interested

Have a friend who, when I mentioned the RPF said, “you see, they try to rehabilitate people”
I was dumb struck. I had just spent half an hour on the phone telling her about their torture, slavery etc… Have not spoken to her since (over a year) but know they have hit on hard times. I am worried they could have become one of them. I’ve known them for 32 years. They are in the US and I am in the UK. I feel useless.

            • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

Please don’t feel useless, you are/will provide to so many others infomation that will help them not go into their doors. Even if just supporting others is helpful. Sometimes there is nothing you can do for some people and they will find out themselves. Meanwhile, take heart and know we are behind you.

      • Free Minds, Free Hearts

This friend is very well known, quoted in the New York Times, top of her field, professional, well educated – but this has not been on her radar. I think she doesn’t watch a lot of TV… However her husband had seen part of Going Clear on HBO. I think it is such a small fringe group that people don’t pay much attention to it.

    • Robert Hammond

You know, I was thinking about that and I really believe that some people would actually join if they were honest up front and said that it was all about space aliens, exorcism, and super powers. Think about the people who are huge Star Wars fans and actually adopt the Jedi religion. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jediism

If you know that it’s a mythology and embrace it because you just love being a part of the big game, then that would be fine. But, hiding the truth and charging hundreds of thousands of dollars for the big reveal – that’s just fraud.

    • Missionary Kid

I went into an org a while ago, and played dumb. Yeah, I know, people may say I really am dumb. Anyway, I wandered in, asking about a nearby business. I’m not revealing where or when, because I may go back.

The deception that I was presented with was slick and subtle. As someone said about me because I was lying about who I was, that we were lying to each other. They presented $cientology as a “philosophy, like Taoism.” They gave me the stock definition of $cientology. When they talked about Sunday services, weddings, and christenings, I managed to keep a straight face. Gee, I wonder why he didn’t talk about R6 implants.

I was there for about 45 minutes, bullshitting, and there was only one person who wasn’t a sea org or staffer that came in or left during that time. So much for a straight up and vertical rise in membership.

    • Libertylover

I just got done watching “The Profit.” It’s not a great movie, but I actually enjoyed it, which was a surprise.

I then went and read some of the reviews which varied. Then I realized, if I hadn’t read “A Piece of Blue Sky”, “Bare Faced Messiah” and “Going Clear” I would have thought it was a really terrible movie. It would have made little sense and seemed like a really bad story. So much of Hubbard’s life is unbelievable and the things he did so bold and despicable, he was like a parody of a cartoon villain. There were so many inside references in it.

I laugh when I read, that they said it wasn’t about Scientology but an amalgam of different Guru’s, yeah right. It was only about Hubbard, that’s patently obvious.

So strange that they would spend so much to get it shut down, when it plays like an Ed Wood movie. Perhaps they feared the word would get out later how much that seemed absurd was actually based on truth and he really lived a life like this movie. Perhaps If they had ignored it no one would have taken it seriously and it would have just looked like a bad story, but they couldn’t take the chance that it would blow back, is what I am guessing

There’s an expression in popular culture for like Jennifer Lopez or Victoria Beckham called “resting bitch face” I think your kitteh has it down perfect.

            “resting bitch face

a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to.

Nah, she’s just got a resting bitch face, she’s actually really sweet” from Urban dictionary

            • Dee Findlay-DeElizabethan

Yes, they can have expressions. I like that one. Here’s her more innocent one. she wants to go outside, please?

Good morning Night Owls and Early Birds,
    Good week
end for us in Boston, so far 54 ads have been removed which still leaves us with 40 as JJ & Gregory replenish fast. Why CL does not take down all the ads and ban them outright is the next step to be sorted? Thanks to the complainants, keep on the pressure! SFBay managed a show in.

  • Note to my fellow Red Xers and Bunkerites – I will be mostly lurking and posting sporadicallly for some time.
So if you don’t see me posting the way I used to, this is why. I am doing well, just a vacation of sorts.
But if you see me blubbering as usual, please don’t get mad for my not going away.
    Truly yours, Dodo.

    • Jimmy3

I vote to veto this decision.

      • I am trying to ban myself temporarily and you are not helping.

        • Jimmy3

Ohhhhhhh. Well if you want to get yourself banned, you just have to insult The remainder of this comment was deleted.

      • There were two decisions. Lol

    • SP Wogsy

Enjoy your time off Dodo! ((Hugs))

    • Darned, I meant bantering, not blubbering. I will learn English one day, I promise.

Dear Dodo, Good morning wherever you are. The are different kinds of love. The one you feel for you beautiful wife, the one for family, many others. The one we share here is the one that is base on principles. We are different and sometimes we disagree but we share this principle, we know that an organization had and is hurting people and we are trying to stop that, some like me doing too little is true but I have this love for you and all the others fighting this cult. Wish and hope the best for you and your wife. You are missed already. Came back when you are ready. This song is for you. At the end just change to YOU BELONGS TO US.

  • Newiga

Can we ask Xenu to sing immortal Scio tunes like We Stand Tall, We’re Building This City an Ideal Org and Thank You for Listening?
