Australian fires. African locusts. Worldwide plague. Do we live in Biblical times or what? If the world really is ending, we thought it was time to prepare properly for Armageddon. By, you know, reading the damn thing. The Bible, that is. (Go back to the beginning here.)
After that trick turning on light and darkness yesterday, we’re anxious to see what the Big Guy does as a follow-up act here in our second day’s foray into Genesis. Let’s see, shall we?
Genesis 1 King James Version (KJV)
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. 7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. 8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. 9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. 10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. 11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. 13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.

And God saw that it was good. 13 And there was evening, and there was morning — the third day.
This guy sure is pleased with his work, isn’t he? Stopping to admire his handiwork and finding that it was good. That’s a bit hammy. But sure, coming up with “land” and “sea” and “sky” was pretty epic, no doubt. And plants and trees, now there’s a good show.
Speaking of which, we hope you are finding time during your isolation to get out of the house to spend some time with those trees and plants. The weather’s a bit chaotic this time of year, but if the sun is peeking out through the clouds, you really should do yourself a favor and breathe some fresh air.
Just be careful to do it far enough away from your germy neighbors, especially their drooling, snot-running kids.

And getting back to the plant kingdom, we’re especially thrilled to see that fruit has such precedence here. Nothing like a ripe, juicy peach or delicious orange to freshen the taste buds, eh?
