2014IsOursWhile we wait for word of legal happenings in Texas, we have a few fun items to tide you over today.

One of our tipsters sent us another issue of the Fort Harrison newsletter, the house organ of Scientology’s mecca in Clearwater, Florida. This is our second issue, and already we’re charmed by the upstat publication. We look forward to your comments on it.

We only wish we could watch the BIG GAME at the Hibiscus!

Fun in Ireland

On Monday, we brought you video from Scientology’s recent New Year’s Eve celebration. Among the surprising things in the December 27 celebration in Clearwater, Florida, was a segment that featured church leader David Miscavige boasting about all of Scientology’s expansion and gains in Ireland.

One of our readers, Interested inCrazy, forwarded a link to our post to the Irish media, and it created a bit of a firestorm. We’ve enjoyed watching the fact-checking that’s been going on as Irish organizations looked into Miscavige’s claims.

Our favorite came from a radio station, Ocean FM, which says a segment in the video made to look like Scientology was getting “national coverage” turned out to be completely faked. Here’s a screenshot from the video…

And here’s the notice Ocean FM put on its website…

Management of Ocean FM Ireland have reacted with amazement after a bogus video purporting to show a Scientology broadcast from its studios was shown to a major Scientology Conference in Florida.

The video, played live to a huge audience at the New Year’s Eve Scientology event in Clearwater, Florida, includes a clip of an ‘interview’ being conducted with a Scientologist in the Ocean FM studios.

However, the studio is NOT that of Ocean FM, and the ‘presenter’ conducting the interview is not known to anyone at Ocean.

Ocean FM was alerted to the matter by a listener, who suggested that it was unfortunate that Ocean would be involved in such a video.

Management at the radio station is now investigating the matter.

That’s fun stuff.

We always knew that Miscavige’s bloviations during these events were completely bogus, but it’s always nice to get fact-checking like this.

Bonus Video: Fundraising in Puerto Rico!

Another fun leak from a tipster. Over the past couple of years, we’ve brought you some glimpses into the fundraising activities of Scientologists. And for the first time, we get a look at an Ideal Org wallet-grab in Puerto Rico! What a fiesta.
