Billy Sheehan, Scientology celebrity

Current lifetime: Born March 19, 1953 in Buffalo, New York
Most famous for: Decades as a top rock bass player with numerous bands
Joined Scientology: In 1971
Fun Scientology completion: OT 2, 2005
Billy shattering suppression: “I am not a proselytizer…if someone is interested in what I am into, I’d be glad to tell them a little bit about it. But it’s very important for people to find out on their own.”

Says our Celebrity Centre source: “Billy has been a Scientologist since 1971. Since that time he has only worked professionally with one other Scientologist, John Novello, as part of the fusion trio Niacin. Billy over the years has been a guest performer for big Scientology events, including the cruise ship the Freewinds. He has also occasionally done career seminars for Celebrity Centre. Billy has openly spoken about Scientology in articles and at clinics, about how it helped him in his life. But at one point in the early 2000s he had some doubts about the church. As with other celebrities he was given special handling by the Office of Special Affairs to assuage any concerns about what ex-members said about Hubbard or David Miscavige. Billy is an amazing musician. He is treated like royalty by the church. But his music is first. If he allowed himself to see the truth I think he would be gone from the organization in a Nww York minute.”
