Scientology is staffing its Narconon in Ireland like it’s already won court approval

Scientology isn’t waiting for official approval before recruiting staff for the planned Narconon Ireland facility in Ballivor, County Meath. We last reported on the planned Narconon Ireland in 2018 as neighbors were organizing to oppose the facility. Scientology has a permit for converting the old primary school to a nursing home and hoped to open a 34 bed drug rehab facility under that permit.

Since then An Bord Pleanála, the national planning and appeals board, overturned the county’s decision to allow the facility. They wrote “The proposed use as a residential drug rehabilitation facility would be a factual change of use from use as a nursing home and such change of use would raise material planning considerations including different patterns of traffic, and pedestrian activity/movement, a different service to a different user group, including a population with a broader age profile and who are drug dependent and with limited interaction with the local community, and is, therefore a material change of use, and is development.”

Scientology appealed the decision and the case goes before An Ard-Chúirt, the High Court on December 10th. In the meantime Scientology is finishing the construction work on the site. The building is furnished and almost ready to go. The addition of four wings to the original two at the top of this photo has more than doubled the available space. Still to be done is the window frosting needed because of the close proximity to a community garden.

Scientology is recruiting staff as if approval is a foregone conclusion. As usual for Narconon, only Scientologists need apply. Narconon is not an “off-shoot” of Scientology as some reports have described it; it is Scientology. The recruiters are on staff at the Dublin Ideal Org. It’s a draw for Narconon staff to be near an Ideal Org so they can be on the Bridge. But all this recruiting and construction could be for nothing if they lose in the High Court. The argument by An Bord Pleanála that the people served by a nursing home and a drug rehab are different seems persuasive and Scientology won’t be able to open without the court overturning their decision.

Thank you for that report on Scientology’s Narconon project in Ireland, Rod. Meanwhile, down the road in Dublin, the organization’s other big push is the Ideal Org there. A reader forwarded us this really interesting message that Scientology recently sent out, practically begging for people in the US to consider taking a staff job in Dublin.

Keep in mind, orgs everywhere are struggling, and staff member pay is tied directly to how much business is coming in. So to convince someone from overseas to come to Dublin, the writer here is doing their best to make it sound like Dublin itself is not on life support. This is fascinating stuff…

WHY DUBLIN?

Its Strategic Org placed by the IAS for enacting long term international goals for Scientology. There was only a Mission with 4 staff before this.

The Org is run by 30 Sea Org execs under them there are 70 class V Staff. None of these staff moonlight so that’s why we need your help to keep this project viable.

We are building a ton of OL partnerships and doing a bunch of Community Events through our partners We have had over 60k public through our doors because of this new strategy. (One event had 7800!) While we are doing this, we are relying on public from abroad to help fill the Org internationally and keep the doors open.

The ratio of Flag trained Auditors and C/S here on both day and Foundation, which are run by the former Tech Sec of Saint Hill (ED) and the Solo Sup of Saint Hill (OES) are very high to the amount of PC’s. You will get 4 intensives+ a week from a specifically assigned auditor in your language and dialect (The only restriction is your sessionability). In a 10 day period recently we made 5 Clears.

An example of cases cracked include: a public who had gone to 7 orgs including 2 AOs in two years trying to get a Ned DRD cycle finished and handled. We cracked this and finished his cycle on this step in 1 week recently he went Clear here. Another Example is an Australian public with a Ruin on study and the 2D not handled for 30 years in Scientology. We again cracked this and fully handled it in a 10 day auditing cycle under our CS.

The HES is an HCO Int exec for 15 years. We were recently sent a parishioner by the Flag MAA because of our notoriety in cracking such issues. We got her through the entire cycle in 10 days. Now she is back in good standing and is doing major services for the first time in 10 years. She recently went Clear here!

On training, our public finish any course under GAT II tech estimate. One Public recently did Pro Tr’s through Class IV in less than 8 weeks. Another public did PTSSP in 17 days. The OES and our Academy Sups make this happen on every cycle.

90% of our SRD twinships are from abroad which are all on 60-70 hours per week. We have had public do there entire SRD in as few as 5 weeks

The Org has packages which include all logistics… Transport food Accomodation etc…

Financially the prices are 35% less than a US class V.

And what else does Dublin need? Customers! Check out this brochure that’s trying to get American Scientologists to fly over for the cheaper auditing prices and cheap hotel rooms…

An original Dianeticist takes her leave

Jana Moreillon introduced herself at HowdyCon in Los Angeles. We had been corresponding with her for years on email, so it was a real treat to finally meet her. Many of our readers who are former Scientologists knew her well.

We were knocked out when we finally got a chance to meet her and hear her honey-smooth Southern accent in person. Jana was an original Dianeticist. She said her involvement in Hubbardism actually predated the publication of ‘Dianetics’ in 1950, and she had been out of Scientology about as long as she had originally been in it, about 30 years either way.

She was out soon enough that she was featured as a source in the legendary 1990 series at the Los Angeles Times by Sappell and Welkos. (And she was disappointed that more recently we’d been criticizing the Times, but we had to explain that the paper has sadly given up its role of Scientology watchdog.)

Anyway, we talked to Jana about doing a more complete story of her entire life in and out of Scientology, and she seemed only mildly amused by it. We wish we’d pressed further. But we know that some of our readers can say more about her.

Jana had told us she was 90. Tory Christman announced that Jana did not survive a surgical procedure this week. We will miss having Jana as a valued reader and correspondent.
