In reply to <a href="https://tonyortega.org/2017/08/18/as-he-predicted-pastor-willy-rice-gets-the-scientology-fair-game-treatment/comment-page-2/#comment-1945575">org-rat 1003</a>.

I don't believe that all people who are homophobic are also gay. I believe the attitude of homophobia exists because of twisted attitudes and societal expectations towards men and women. Specifically, the idea that too many people have that women have their roles and men have their roles and that neither one can hold the role of the other. Men having sex with men and women have sex with women is the antithesis of those twisted attitudes and expectations and so the not-straight community bears the brunt of those misguided notions.

I do believe that people who are closeted gays and afraid of how people will react towards them use homophobia as a cover so that no one, they think, will suspect they are gay. If all of those people came out, I think the world would be a better, more accepting place. Regardless of whether it's nature or nurture, which gender we are attracted to is not a choice. No amount of praying or electrodes attached to genitalia can change that.

As far as political correctness goes, I am a fan of it in one way and not a fan of it in others.

If what someone or people are saying is hurtful to a group of people who don't deserve to be hurt, then I am absolutely okay with those people saying hurtful things to be crushed by the voice of the 'politically correct'.

If the voice of the 'politically correct' shouts down people who are simply trying to express opposing views for the sake of oppressing them and nothing else, then I am not okay with it.

If what someone is saying is simply, plain wrong as in the case of established facts, then that person should be told they are wrong.

If someone is simply asking uncomfortable questions, they should be allowed to ask them, as long as they are not loaded with language intended to incite an emotional response.

Hopefully, that clears up my views on political correctness. The tl;dr version is just don't be a dick about it.

Are you saying that because men exist who both express hatred for gays and turn out to be gay themselves, that all homophobia is a product of this cause I disagree with that. I also think that masculinity in a man and femininity in a woman can be good and beautiful things, the complete dissolution of which would be as unfortunate as placing too much importance on them. I was reluctant to expound because being politically incorrect in this time can be as dangerous as being gay was in the nineteenth century.

Ugh. that sticker is what I'm talking about. So ass-backwards.

It is a fact that there are men, lots of them with wives and children, who preach against gays that then go out and have sex with men. Maybe the UK is immune to that or maybe you just don't know enough of us gays. It's definitely true in the US.

Whether or not you want to take my word for it is up to you. But I'm not seeking your agreement about something that I know to be true. I am not agreeing or disagreeing with you about anything. I am trying to share information with you that I have and that you, apparently, do not have.

Now the part about society's views on masculinity and femininity, I did express an opinion: that I think the way society views them is wrong. Society's views on masculinity and femininity in the US are not something that's generally in question. The only question is whether they are right or wrong.

So I'm not sure what exactly you disagree with, but apparently you don't want to expound on that point, and that's okay.

I hate to respond to a comment as long and thoughtful as that with a cliché as lame as this but I can't help but just say, 'we'll have to agree to disagree', at least on that subject. Thank you for getting back to me though, I appreciate it. I have only seen, I think, one of your videos from a while back but I am looking forward to watching some more, especially as I am not too clued up about the subject of homosexuality in the cult of Scientology (I was only in it till the age of thirteen). Chow for now. P.S, I saw this on a sticker somewhere: "when a woman acts like a man, why can't she act like a nice one?"

Nah, all good man. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Suffice it to say, there are a whole lot of 'straight' guys that aren't really. There's even a nickname for them: 'str8'.

Within the gay community it can be immensely frustrating as many of those 'str8' guys espouse homophobic ideals in public despite their private man-on-man romps. Many of the playground bullies that beat up 'fags' in schools are perfect examples of this.

It's all brought on by the idea that being gay is emasculating, and also the idea that somehow masculinity is superior to femininity. Being gay is not emasculating (I am very masculine, in person) and there is nothing wrong with being feminine for men or women.

In fact, this ridiculous idea of masculinity being superior is the reason that people get so up in arms about transgender folk. There are a lot of people out there that believe women are not allowed to act masculine and men aren't allowed to act feminine. In reality, there's nothing wrong with either one of those things.

There is a huge spectrum of sexuality and people are all across it. What is frustrating for the not-straight community is that if people would just acknowledge this fact we'd not be discriminated against or hated. But we are, and many of those discriminatory and hateful people are the ones who are not 'straight' by their own misguided definition.

Well, if you recall TV Celeb "Felix Unger" once said:

NEVER ASSUME.....

IT MAKES AN ASS (out of) U & ME.......

When a wheel squeaks it gets the most oil normally....the momentum is building and building each time an episode, book, interview is revealed. I've said it before, & I will say it again....Can ALL these people be LYING?

I also recall another brilliant statement:
"In order to be a successful liar, one has to have a GOOD memory"

In relation to that statement, one must remember exactly what one said, to whom it was said without much variance in the wording. If it sounds too perfect, it is open for question.

They've got enough rope and keep accepting more and more length of rope...eventually they will run out of rope, hang themselves out to dry, & will swing in the wind. Some loyalist will stay to the very end & defend to the death "the organization".....BUT

Will those who are "locked in" & not permitted to leave, will THEY stand behind the leader of the pack. Will the ones who are currently deep in, like some of his "right hand men"....will THEY be willing to serve long prison terms to defend HIM when they barely can meet their own financial expenses. Even IF well paid....how intimidating will it be to be placed on the hot seat in a court of law to "Tell The Truth, The Whole Truth, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH......

Well, if you recall TV Celeb “Felix Unger” once said:

NEVER ASSUME…..

IT MAKES AN ASS (out of) U & ME…….

When a wheel squeaks it gets the most oil normally….the momentum is building and building each time an episode, book, interview is revealed. I’ve said it before, & I will say it again….Can ALL these people be LYING?

I also recall another brilliant statement:
“In order to be a successful liar, one has to have a GOOD memory”

In relation to that statement, one must remember exactly what one said, to whom it was said without much variance in the wording. If it sounds too perfect, it is open for question.

They’ve got enough rope and keep accepting more and more length of rope…eventually they will run out of rope, hang themselves out to dry, & will swing in the wind. Some loyalist will stay to the very end & defend to the death “the organization”…..BUT

Will those who are “locked in” & not permitted to leave, will THEY stand behind the leader of the pack. Will the ones who are currently deep in, like some of his “right hand men”….will THEY be willing to serve long prison terms to defend HIM when they barely can meet their own financial expenses. Even IF well paid….how intimidating will it be to be placed on the hot seat in a court of law to “Tell The Truth, The Whole Truth, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH……
