Ok good k thanks for being so sweet as to reply in the midst of this all! I’ll check in again & esp after her service. In one sense it’s nice her service is a bit off in the future because it gives you time to plan & grieve, but it’s also a “burden” too – because it’s always on your mind! We did a service a few months later for one of my best friends who passed from cancer about 3 mos after he passed due to his family being ALL over.

It was a tough period planning up to that, but also beautiful. But the service was a release because we all were together and got to laugh, cry & remember so the time-space between was a gift as we all had more time than usual to process/mourn. Ugh – cancer is so horrible…. on the one hand you can be thankful you have time to care for those you love & say what you need to say (but can we truly every say everything we mean to?!?!) but it’s also so tough to watch our loved one fight it …. truly I wish I could reach out & hug you! (Here’s a hug from Riverside, CA 🤗). I went through it w/my Aunt who essentially acted as my mom, but can’t fathom what you’re walking right now! So know that my thoughts & prayers are w/you and if you ever need to vent, cry, yell or be distracted & laugh – I’m here! Much love to you & yours! (Ugh not in the Scio ML way… 😜 The REAL one…)

Thanks sweetie, I am doing ok, we are holding a memorial service for her at the end of September and have time to plan that. Just getting used to not checking in on her and taking care of her, my Dad is a bit lost as well! I’ve been doing a lot of knitting and listening to audio books which is great therapy, so I am taking care of my self. Thanks for checking in. ((((hugs))))

Just checking in & hoping you’re feeling ok! On the day & leading to the services everyone is in the same place but then after there’s that “limbo” feeling of “how in the WORLD am I supposed to just move on now?!?!” Thanks so much for sharing all you’ve been going through… takes so much bravery! I’m scared for my parents because they won’t take care of themselves or accept they’re getting older (I’m 43 and they had me in their early 20’s) but don’t take care of themselves… plus w/my mom’s mental illness (I’ve tried to keep it ambiguous who dealt w/that and may edit this post out of respect… but I’ve been on a rollarcoaster w/Mom for decades) so I worry because I know tomorrow’s not promised and things can swing from great to horrid with no warning…

This is NOT supposed to be about my stuff, I’ve just felt for you deeply as I’ve seen your posts and you’ve been SO strong! But once the “fight” and then the busyness dies down, our guards come down and the fatigue & emotion hits, so just wanting to check on you and make sure YOU are doing ok as you’ve been taking care of everyone around you! Huge hugs to you! If you need anything (even to vent, cry or just be distracted!!!) I can get contact info to you, lovely! 😘🤗
