Thanks for the reply. I think those theatrical “events” are a fascinating part of the Scientology story.

They still do some pretty ambitious set design for live events like the Birthday Game and the New Years’ celebration. I imagine they’re even more interested in trompe l’oeil sets like that one now that they’re forced to make a shrinking population look grander every year.

Maybe it is faux everything so as to save money on buying real marble, real wood, real granite. Maybe money is now an issue?

A person would have to be dead to not be productive – my opinion. The main point is getting out seems to be totally arbitrary and based on the whim of a person or people or the specific need of that person else where. I have heard of people taken out to perform some service and then sent back to the hole. It seems to me the key to these people getting out is to find their own self worth above and beyond anything else. At some point they must realize they are being terribly abused or just stay totally shut down following the system that may never “let” them out – as there is NOOOO time frame to let them out. The comment on productivity was to point out that the higher up in Scientology seem to be shoot themselves in their foot because their need for power? or what, there seems to be no clear reason for losing the services of these people because the desired change of these people is unclear and point of exit is arbitrary.

That’s a strange way of putting it. Would it be acceptable to put people who weren’t “productive” in the hole?
