Yeah, if you see Hubbard’s affirmations and understand they were hypnotic commands he designed to secretly use on himself through repetition and they reveal his deepest thoughts and desires they are the lynchpin in clinching the argument that Hubbard was intensely interested, possibly consumed, by the occult.

I call the affirmations of Ron Hubbard the Rosetta Stone of Scientology. They explain the man and his creation. Hubbard was interested in attaining power over the minds of men. As a God or devil.

Very interesting–especially since Ive only known Protestant, non-denominational charismatics, not Catholic charismatics. That said, I’d read the stories of the “first” charismatic” incident at some Catholic univeristy (can’t remember which one) where the students started speaking in tongues and are credited with started the charismatic movement. Never could understand how it intersected with Pentacostalism, with which it should have everything in common.
