My obsession with you may well be secret as you claim. Your obsession on the other hand…not so much. I hope you’ll consider starting a blog like Barbara Shwartz…if not maybe you and Oracle (same style different side) could get away from the computer for a change and have debates over coffee!

I disagree, it’s the easiest thing in the world to avoid my posts…just don’t read them! I think that you’re secretly obsessed with me and this is your, umm, interesting way of getting my attention.

I didn’t see the request to skip your posts. It’s difficult request since you post obsessively about Marty…on every blog I read. And you repeat the sign lines over and over again. Perhaps you should consider getting a hobby.

But they never claimed to provide objective benefits – like increased IQ, a perfect memory, freedom from physical and mental disease, the ability to grow new teeth – and that’s just early dianetics.

Buddhism you can accept because it claims only cultivate a state of mind which it argues is desirable. The validity of Scientology depends on objective claims which evaporate when examined.

It might be less of a problem if you accepted that the benefits of Scn are almost TOTALLY subjective. Same as Zen, Catholicism and just about every other -ism ever developed.

That is the problem. I would likely dismiss these things as subjective experiences provoked by well-understood means (e.g. the hallucinations that many people have during TR0) whose interpretation was guided by Scientology doctrine.

I would do things like ask people who said they could leave their bodies to identify a playing card inside a sealed box, and judge the truth of that claim according to whether they could or not.

It’s a different perspective and it’s probably best to respectfully agree to differ (unless you want to go into great detail 🙂

We can agree that the damaging aspects should be stopped. Unfortunately many of them (e.g. disconnection and ethics) are integral parts of Scientology practice. You can’t remove the abuses without denying large parts of Scientology doctrine.

Cherry-picking the ‘good’ parts and ignoring the rest is difficult – but I suppose someone couldcome up with a ‘Reformed Church of Scientology’ that was not as malignant as the present CofS.

End the abuses. We can stand together on that. The rest, we can sort out later.
