Sorry to put things so bluntly….as a “never in” I did not endure all the horrific treatment many did as members of “the organization”. I can’t imagine having to accept a beating at the hands of DM or anyone else, forced abortions according to what’s been stated, and being chased down like a wild animal once you try to escape.
I would love to see TRUE justice prevail, that everyone gets “a piece of the pie” & that things are set into motion to shut down ALL cults that harm people.

I just watched a rerun on Dr Phil about a cult called “The Children Of God” (now renamed “The Family”)…..worse then COS it seems….rape of children etc…..HOW do these “churches” get AWAY with it…….FLDS STILL exists in Arizona & Utah, etc…..yes Warren Jeffs is in prison, but he STILL controls things from his prison cell. He should be allowed NO CONTACT with anyone outside the prison he is in.

This makes me wonder, if the judge will use something akin to JURY selection to assist him with the final selection. I have read nothing regarding that possibility.

I have read about what I call the privatization of the Judicial court system, especially where corporations get to designate the arbitrators and thus can choose those from ‘within arms length’ resulting in unfair arbitration. However, this case has gone beyond that selection stage by the contracted parties and is now selection from a large pool and under the control of the judge.
An intriguing Gordian knot perhaps.
I hope the judge shines through brightly in this one.

May I suggest this by James Madison from his introduction of the Bill of Rights in 1789 :

Certainly possible, but I don’t think the COS will consider settlement until the judge rules the arbitration system has failed. Until then the COS will believe that it holds the upper hand.

Are they not just going to avoid the whole debacle by reaching an out of court settlement with the Garcias? That seems to be the normal way they deal with situations where they can’t win a trial, so news about a settlement with the Garcias in a couple of days?
