His ideas were good – but I could have done without his misguided support for eugenics in the best of them (“The Little Black Bag” and “The Marching Morons”).

I do member liking “The Syndic” and his classic collaborations with Fred Pohl (such as “The Space Merchants” ).

It was. It is. “The Veldt” was also produced as an episode of an old British series of dramatisations of SF stories, whose name escapes me – along with “The Little Black Bag” by Cyril Kornbluth and others.
