Now it’s “tiny”.

I honestly don’t know what the state is…seems like there’s a steady flow of ex-scn that use the scene (to use a Hubbardism) as a halfway house (Tony’s term) and then move on, but obviously some stay.

Smart birds. I used to have an indoor/outdoor cat who was public enemy #1 to the catbirds on the property. One summer eve, I was sitting on the porch and I noticed the birds were all having some sort of convention on the telephone wire above the trees. Then they suddenly shut up–silence–and about 10 seconds later, my cat Zoe came tearing down the tall tree underneath that wire and made a beeline across the wide yard for the porch–with a whole squadron of catbirds in divebomb formation following close behind her. They pecked her on the butt right as she got to the opening underneath the porch. Honestly, I laughed my ass off. She deserved it. And the next day? That cat was right back out in that tree,

Zoe also used to get pecked by a neighbor’s rooster for stalking their chickens. But hey, girl was true to her nature, I have to give her that. ; )

Haha. I have enough excitement with mine.
My fat cat doesn’t care about them. She is too lazy to chase them and she prefers chasing mice.
But the younger cat I got just before xmas is addicted to stalking them.
I can’t leave her unsupervised in the backyard even for a few mins or she will catch one.
The birds were too used to the fat cat not having any interest in them.
Thank goodness they are trained now to know if they can see the fat cat the other one is outside hiding and waiting for them and they stay off the fence and out of birdbath until the three of us go back inside.

Neat! My cats would like to know when they can come move in with you. ; )

She is an excellent Mummy.
I love wild birds. We have about 20 different types that visit my backyard and i live in the city.
The Australian magpies and the Rainbow Lorikeets are my favourites. The lorikeets are totally wild but the magpies sing out at the back door to be fed each day.

It’s addictive, isnt’ it? I’ve got a nature-loving co-worker hooked now. She has dual monitors in her office, so she can do her work and watch the cam at the same time. I am jealous.

While I love watching the babies grow, the nighttime infra-red cam is just stunning. Here’s mama being an umbrella last night. (F5)

Yep. I check in first thing in the morning and last thing at night. 🙂
