Thanks Jenny. The citizens have been aware of the cult since they moved in, late 70;s They had all sorts of protests. Only some of the old timers continue to protest by mail or whatever means. They’ve had it with the city planners for so many years now and no energy left to fight much. Of course lots of new people since then who do not know the history, even the city government. Since they are told by the cult that it was long ago and they have since changed, which they have not.
The good news is that so many former members are speaking out. They have to listen some and look around the world. However, they also want peace in the city and will give the cult benefit of doubt. Some wimps, huh?

PS – The lone councilwoman who refused to attend the meetings w/DM has my ultimate respect- I hope they aren’t starting their usual dirty tricks ops on she and her family now!

It’s really sad (& scary) how the city council has varied between just giving up and bending over to openly letting the CO$ bribe or coerce their way into whatever they want!
Does the public at large down there feel as disturbed by it or is it more just those who are exes or more aware of Scientology that are even aware it’s happening? I’ve noticed in recent TBTimes articles that more people (not just exes, like it used to seem to be) seem to be commenting and bothered by it, so I’ve hoped that means the public at large is becoming more aware. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to you and others who DO know and/or have been involved before to see that evil organization taking over the city even as their public profile is sinking faster than ever before!

the ONLY, ONLY way i can see this is if.. one is TRULY down and out, no family, no friends, no money, no job, etcetera thus no hope and desperate… one who has mental issues never addressed…. one who has substance abuse issues… one who was “born” into the insidious thing and doesn’t know any better? one who has no education, or social skills or critical thinking or basic adult common sense and curiosity and self respect…. otherwise?.. sorry, but i don’t think there is ANY excuse, rationale that makes ANY sense… example? tom cruise!… what were his reasons? NONE OF THEM, NOT A SINGLE ONE is valid! for him to EVER had got involved much less stayed in for 30 years and counting!!!!!!!
