And WOW impressive – I need to pick your brain as I want to head back to school. I started having kids when I was in college so I never finished & have to start from scratch. Until the crash in 07-08 it never affected me. I was a systems analyst and/or interactive marketing project manager for years and all of a sudden my experience meant nothing without a degree so it’s time.
I SO understand the nicknames of childhood vs underlying pain. Mental illness runs rampant in my family and my generation was the first to seek help (myself and a few cousins) so looking back we realize how much easier life might have been had we known and gotten help earlier (or had our parent gotten help earlier)!
I’m in SoCal but get to Vegas fairly often as I have a few cousins there, so we will definitely have to get together one of these days! I was THIS close to being Jennifer Anne but the middle name went to my Dad’s Christy banjo instead. Lol! I’m a ’74 Jennifer (I think that was the 1st or 2nd year of the 5-6 yr run of our name being #1 … LOL I still remember one English class being one of FIVE Jennifer’s in there!) and yep I’ve used all the versions myself! Jenn to most friends now, Jenny to family & friends with whom I’ve known since childhood, Jennifer to teachers and professional contacts and even JC for a while (that started due to the 5-Jennifer class!).
Lastly – I’m SO down – let’s take them on! I’d done mission work through church & Food for the Hungry for years until having my 2 youngest THE past few years and I’m lost without tangibly doing something to serve and help people & Scientology is something about which I’m SO passionate and tired of watching the blatant abuse – I want to help! Lets do it!

And how sad is it that SO often it takes someone else standing up and saying “This happened to me – let me tell you about it…” so everyone’s uncomfortable because it’s still such a taboo therefore easier to believe it doesn’t happen as much as it does until someone forces people to hear that it happens ALL THE TIME in order to shatter that bubble and get people to drop preconceived notions and LISTEN! The letter that rape victim wrote last year was a perfect example- no one paid attention to her or her case until she spelled out how ridiculously she was REvictimized via the court case intended to vindicate and bring “justice.”

Jen, thank you so much. My heart just fluttered after reading that, because it means the world to me! It’s been my life’s passion to help others that have suffered sexual violence, to stand up and say my real name, and let them know that they’re not alone.
I am beyond crushed when a victim comes forth against a “celeb”, and then read people—even other women!—doubting the veracity of their claims. What’s most crushing is the victim blaming and shaming: “why didn’t you call the police?” Fear. “Yeah right. He gets girls all the time and doesn’t have to take it.” Rape is a crime of control, not some guy being horny. “She just wants money and/or fame.” No amount of money can erase that pain, and no victim really wants their name, lives, friends & family dissected and disseminated in the media.
Ignorant fools and it’s the 21st century. We can marry outside of out race, marry same gender, but can’t be rape victims?!

Jennyfurrrr, my name is Jennifer, too! Jennifer Anne, born in 1979, so my name is the most common name for that year according to the ssi administration. My parents were sooooo original🙄
My nickname since junior high is “Crazy Jenny” or just “Crazy Jenn.” Inside, it hurt because what they didn’t know is I have clinical depression and panic disorder. Both are so debilitating, and if it wasn’t for meds, I wouldn’t be alive—which we know is against scn doctrine!
I embrace the craziness and my spitfire personality. It has nothing to do with my illnesses; rather, it’s just me😘
I’m from Las Vegas and I’m moving back home soon. I lived in Houston for years, and so I plan to very soon but a house there to set roots. I just have some classes that need retaking at UNLV, where I did my 1st year of law school. After that, I have to go to University of Houston. Bleh.
I was scouted by Yale (hand to god!), Cornell (boooo, hate that school’s law program), Pepperdine (tier 3, but subsidized housing in Malibu?! YES!!), ASU, USC, Penn State, and 1 more that I’m flubbing. I’m a nerd student, I’m a hs dropout from drug addiction and that makes me desirable (weirdly), 1st to go to college, Vietnam vet dependent, and my weighted GPA is 4.15. Oh, and I started a charity and worked with (former) Mayor Oscar Goidnan to deciminalize prostitution and to bring a needle exchange to Las Vegas. I’m not even liberal, but do have some liberal beliefs!
I’ve been lurking for years, primarily due to their horrendous treatment of the mentally ill. Also, their propaganda against psychiatry can, and has, taken lives. This to me is criminal, basically a RICO charge-worthy org, dangerous, and the whole org is just one big human rights violation!
I adore you and have followed you for awhile. Us Jennifers should stick together 😉. Once I get my law degree/dual masters in public policy, let’s take this cult down!!!!

To my mind, the law is designed to protect all citizens equally. One way of doing that is to set limits upon what you actually do, not upon what you believe.

If I performed a human sacrifice upon a willing victim I would still be guilty of murder. The court could not comment on my belief that without a regular human sacrifice the sun would not rise – but it cold still put ma away for life.

Scientology exploits the concept of a protected religious practice beyond the intention of even a flawed constitutional provision. I think that’s down to the power of money over the judicial process – having a budget that enables Scientology’s distinctive scorched earth tactics – how else can you explain the fact that Narconon gets away with murder.

I suppose these kinds of battles were inevitable, considering that many Americans were religious zealots fleeing from they saw as persecution, and the alternative draft would likely have provoked just as much legal wrangling.
