Very good to meet you nunyabidnes, I also grew up with books my favorite Grandma was a published author in the 30s,thru the early 70s.So I haunted dictionaries. When I joined The Sea Org in 1974, I had only read Dianetics. So my first day in I had no clue what language was being used! Literally. I soon quickly deduced the cult’s use of a dictionary meant one that was Scientology’s own and word clearers were circling not as bad as regges lol I was one, but I Always was at the Word Clearer trying to trace back the definition of a word I may have used zillions of years ago. Nutty indeed. I apologize for zipping along thinking everyone knew what I was talking about. ” youthful exuberance in my old age!”😘

I actually got myself trained up to be a “Professional Course Supervisor”, and so I have seen Scientology courserooms from both sides.
I personally very much enjoy words, their definitions, and derivations, so that part of study was fun for me too. What really F_ _ _ s things up is when you are told that you do not understand a word simply because you didn’t blurt out a definition IMMEDIATELY, no lag what-so-ever. Then you are made to do the whole looking up exercise again and then submit to the snap-answer test again.

Yes Scientology sure has a way of sucking the joy out of things.

If it’s self-published (which it appears to be), there’s no reason why he can’t republish it digitally (i.e. as an ebook) and sell it through all the major online retailers–and make decent money off it, too. Amazon’s CreateSpace does paperbacks as well, fairly good quality and pretty easy to set up. If he gets a formatting program like Jutoh ($40), then formatting is easy and quick, too–otherwise formatting can be kind of a pain, and bad formatting makes a book look cheap.

I am savvy in the business publishing zone, at least to some extent; I’m a professional writer [agented, NY multipublished] and I’ve self-pubbed some little things: novellas set in the world of one of my series, a little how-to guide on writing a particular type of thing, and made good-to-excellent money on them.

Thank you Dice for the link about Scientology terminology. I get typing and sometimes forget what jargon I understand completely a newcomer here or never in could definitely be confused by my post. I did not have the info so I could tell them where to look the words up. Now I do. You are a sweetie….💛
