I don’t know about the gay thing, or the notion that they have a close relationship. I doubt that, in total, they have really spent much time together or that either of them are prepared to honestly open up to the other (surely an essential prerequisite of a real relationship) . Those motorcycle poses, for example, are just self-aggrandizing pretense..

Like their lives in general, it’s all about posing, pretense and appearances. There is nothing authentic in their lives, and that is pitiable.

Agree. I can’t see what else Miscavige would be in the world, he couldn’t run a business with such behavior he’d be arrested. Cruise seems like a pet in many ways. A very controlled tool of DM’s. They both enhance one another’s position in Scientology and buttress their defense from those outside of it.
Just my opinion but I think it would be easier if they were gay, then they could be a couple. For two men to have such an intense bond that isn’t sexual has got to be complex. I get the feeling DM has fiddled in the personal life of TC for good and/or ill since way back. Maybe he is uncomfortable sharing him and regards TC as his personal property, a wife esp not a committed Scientology wife is always going to be a threat.
From TC side he has the appearance of total support and admiration and a like minded man standing behind him in something not very popular outside the bubble. If TC is really being fooled and DM has no real care for him as a person, I think that will be very leveling for TC. Might be better just to pretend you don’t know…?

I think it’s tax dodging inherited from Hubbard’s legacy of his years of tax dodging.

Maybe this forbodes some Museum of IRS Nastiness by Scientology someday, mabye a new “Citizens Exposing IRS Nastiness”, oh I forgot, that was one angle of the Scientology IRS deal that Scientology foolishly gave up Scientology’s rights to keep IRS bashing.

Hubbard’s visual symbolism communication, and their buildings, that IS a book of weirdness waiting to be compiled!

I’d say that Miscavige was a driven personality, lacking in empathy from the beginning. He had the misfortune not only to encounter Scientology before he had the chance to acquire any kind of meaningful education, but also to seize power in it.

The consequence is that he sees the world entirely through the distorting lens of Scientology doctrine, and channels Hubbard’s petty and vengeful personality because he share those characteristics.

Cruise strikes me as a man who wants to believe his own publicity, but is still insecure. Scientology provides him with reassurance that he really is superior – that the money and public attention is deserved. When that public attention turns bad (e.g. that occasion he was booed, attending a sporting event) of course, that’s SPs attacking a ‘Big Being’.

His delusion is self-sealing, and protected by a phalanx of yes-men. In this kind of situation, people tend to behave badly. While I do think Cruise is responsible for the harm his bad behaviour is doing, the influence of the CofS is a powerfully manipulative influence upon him.

He’s going to have a rough time punishing every person that makes fun of him…

Everything is personal to Trump. It would be epic and hilarious.

I’m more worried about what Miscavige would do if it looks like it’s game over. Miscavige is a psychopath, much harder to predict.
