I did a trial of Affinity Photo and bought it and Designer. I am going to limp along with Pages and iStudio until Serif comes out with a page design program. I don’t think Pageplus and Photoplus are Mac products unless you use Bootcamp (and I have never used it).
I have been skeptical about the Adobe Cloud service even though a good friend swears by it. He is just using it for Photoshop and Lightroom.
When I started we were using those tiny box Macs and Pagemaker 4/5 to produce a 20+ page tabloid newspaper nightly. We started gathering everything at about 6 pm, and I would get bits and pieces to work with all night. Stories were constantly being changed and photos added. I would do it all on the computer, but would have to print and paste up in this primitive way. Everything had to be ready by 1 am for the courier to take it to our printer (in another state, no less). It would be back by 6 am, looking like a real newspaper despite the way we had to do it.
Then Scripps Howard funded a better system for us with a new Mac lab, new computers in the newsroom, a program for an inner city newspaper for high school students. I actually had a screen that I could do facing pages and get my work done in 2 hours vs. 6. Of course, then they made me switch to Quark. I picked it up pretty fast even though the key commands make no sense whatsoever.

I believe that the investigation and its results is subject to FOIA, but personal information, including personal income tax records would be omitted or severely redacted. But I am not a tax attorney.

Plus the emotional weight of knowing someone else keeps a record of all your wrongdoings.

Good point. But I still wonder are private persons tax records exempt from public knowledge and remain so even after death? The reason I ask is if in fact, and I believe it is, that the criminal? action of Hubbard inuring illegally a searchable record under the FOI act. I believe such a record must exist from the time ( 1963 or was it 1967 ) when the IRS initially revoked the ” Church of scientology of California ” exemption? And which the went forward,extras judicially withheld payments while battling for decades.
