The wasband’s parents were from Denmark. They still have family over there.. I always wanted to visit Copenhagen w/my MIL (she passed away last year).. The last time she visited over there, her family chartered a bus and they all went sightseeing and visiting all the relatives.. My former FIL was a real self-made man. Emigrated to Canada with a 5th grade education, and worked his way up through the railroad and the oilfield to being a drilling engineer. An old school man of the world.. They ended up emigrating to the US and mostly lived in North Dakota. I didn’t meet him until two years after I married his #3 son, but everywhere I worked they knew who he was and they’d say ‘Old ______ _________sen’d always say (and then they’d try and say it with his Danish brogue) ‘There’s a right way, there’s a wrong way, and then there’s my way, and we goin to do it my way.’ Haven’t thought about that for awhile..

I keep trying to listen to David Miscavige’s 2017 New Year’s speech, and keep falling asleep. Then I wake up during the part where DM is carrying on about Italian cooking schools. I cannot understand what Italian cooking schools have to do with Scientology, or how any events relating to them could be one of CoSs major accomplishments for the year.

I also have trouble imagining that even the most fanatical Scio true believer gets excited about Italian cooking schools and wants to hear DM blather about them.

Ugh. Two hours of listening to Miscaviage drone on about Scientology “stats” (most of them probably pulled out of thin air-or perhaps somewhere a bit sludgier :-{ ) sounds even duller than my New Year’s Eve of watching other schools play in football games I don’t care about! As an added bonus, it cost me NOTHING to watch it (well, except for my outrageous Uverse bill, but I had to pay that anyway.)

Miscavige’s voice at these large events always makes it sound like the venue’s a huge echo-ey
granite cave instead of a modern theater with normal acoustics. It seems his sound techies are altering his voice with cavernous-sounding reverb effects hoping to suggest a “powerful presence”! Perhaps Miscavige watched the 1939 movie “The Wizard of Oz” and was mightily impressed by the booming echo-ey voice of the Great Oz!
Except, instead of risking being discovered as the little-man fraud behind the curtain, Miscavige decided he could pull off a more successful fraud standing 5’1” IN FRONT of the curtain. That way, he can be C.O.B., and keep L.R.H. behind the curtain as designated “Great Oz”, conveniently deceased, leaving C.O.B. as Big Cheese little dictator who gets to have a booming Great Oz voice at Scientology events. Pay attention to that little man in front of the curtain!
