COS doesn’t give golden parachutes. They only pay if absolutely forced to thru litigation. I think the threat on Rathbun was this, “If DM is forced to be deposed he considers that deserving of your destruction no matter how that effects the COS. We will reveal all of your crimes.”

Personally I hope he has voided the field, and is putting Scientology and his supposed status as a ‘technical expert’ behind him. At this point, it is probably the best thing for him, his family and the cause.

This only leaves the question of his recent posts. They can be understood as sour grapes – but they are also written in a distinctly different, less obscure style. Nobody knows, and Marty isn’t telling.

Thanks for your response. I guess not all former execs who left the cult grow in grace as Mike Rinder has, or Amy Scobee or Tom Devocht, or any of the others featured in Leah’s A&E program. Rathbun could have been a huge contribution to the recovery effort on the part of so many, but he seems to instead have chosen bitterness and anger, because his pride was hurt.

Christ Almighty – who chooses pride over all the love, community, and support all the exes are finding now? Perhaps he’s pissed because he wasn’t allowed to claim authorship and origination of this movement – that’s probably it.

Well it’s never too late to reverse course and join the rest of humanity.

I do feel like I need to read everything but I am still seething over ‘The Unbreakable Miss Lovely’ and Leah’s doc each week so yeah, maybe I need to dilute it to spare me breaking up furniture ..
