When you spen several thousand dollars to have something in your film that will make it different from the others, too give you a scoop, and then a different, arguably better in some respects, FREE version pops up, it can kind of tear your heart out.

Perfectly expresses my feelings on the matter. However, I think there is another influence drawing him back – he enjoyed the power over others he had in the CofS and wants it back because he cannot abandon the belief that he is a superior individual.

That’s a personal flaw, which the CofS exploit to the limit. It’s tragic that he is still using that against himself.
