I had a similar experience a couple of months ago in the parking lot of the supermarket. A man approached me and asked if I would be going to the rally that was going to be held for Trump at the military school he went to, which is near my job. I cringed inwardly, bc honestly WTF was it about me that day that would make anyone think I was a Trump supporter? but politely said, No, I won’t be attending. The man said “oh, you’re not one of those Hillary nuts, are you?” So, question with no real right answer, right? I said, well, I haven’t really decided yet,. (this was still during g the time when Bernie Sanders was still in the running, but I wasn’t opening that can of worms with the guy) He proceeded to tell me proudly that Trump attended that school, did I know? I said that yes, I did know that, and I also knew that when the school was at the brink of bankruptcy that they had asked Trump for a donation. Trump responded that he would only donate money to the school – that by the way he touted up and down as his “military experience” during this run – if they would name their gymnasium after him. the school, NYMA declined. as far as I know, he never helped them. And I told the man I the parking lot that I didn’t think that was a good indication of Trump caring about anything other than himself and what makes him look good at the time. The man seemed surprised that I would know or care about the history of Trump in our little corner of not-quite-upstate NY, and kind of mumbled that he hadn’t known that and that I should have a good day. I’m not trying to make any kind of political statement here, but I really hope that by telling that guy the truth about his choice, that maybe he did a little research, maybe he broke out of the mold. idk.

I never focused on anything else, I never could really have a boyfriend or a social life. It was always a long commute too. God bless ya for corralling the kids, how can they not have a plan for that. Guess what guys, they’re not big thetans in little bodies! LOL. One time I played titania in midsummer’s nights dream, and all my fairy girls were these awesome 15 year old girls who all got along. I seriously loved them. One night I taught them all to moon walk, that was my favorite memory. They were just really ambitious good smart girls, I was clearly spoiled.

What a clash of sensibilities and common-sense reasoning! I am actually quite impressed by Tony’s patient but firm insistance the face of all that “What if…?” “In Seach of…” hooey. It is not easy to go on a show, tell the truth, and then refuse to play the role the host wants you to. It is kind of like being invited to Thanksgiving Dinner by people you only find out are deeply racist during the first course. I mean, you ARE their guest, right? So where do you draw the line? Correct the, when they mistate facts? Say whatever racial epithet they are using is hateful? Just that it makes you uncomfortable…?
Perhaps dining with very religious people would be a better example, whether you are of their religion to a lesser degree of fanaticism, of another creed, or simply someone living their lives without thanking the invisible for it, do you bow your head in prayer? What if they ask you to say grace? To kneel and pray with them? Bible sing-alongs? Covers your head, face, neck, whatever?
I mean they are kind, generous enough to have invited you into their house…?

Personally, I try and keep my head down, bow it in respect and keep silent whilst they do what they need to, but answer honestly when asked about my beliefs. There I calmly .told him that I had voted for Mr Obama, was proud of it and as usual would hope for the best but expect the worst. That I thought all people, even presidents should be judged by what they say and do, and not by the color of their skin.

Ooh yes. A few creative differences. The cast is mostly people who haven’t played with this company before, and the crew are mostly people who have been with the company for decades. It’s a bit tiring trying to remain upbeat around it all. Also, we have a lot of kids and no-one really managing costume etc backstage. I’ve taken on a bit of a den-mother role. We did our first full run through on Sunday with whatever costumes and props were ready. We were there for 7 hours and didn’t get through. I was so pumped I couldn’t get to sleep till about 3am. It’s difficult to focus on anything else at the moment.
