No worries – I figured you’d see it eventually. 😉 I’ll find out his schedule tonight & when he’ll be up that way again. As for price, ill ask him but he does things like that for friends of mine for next to nothing. When we moved from Irvine to Riverside it made a night & day difference in temp & our electric bill! The biggest thing he’d need to check is any place you’d want to put it where there’s only a light installed currently, he’ll just need to make sure he can put a reinforced electrical box attached to a stud so it can handle the weight. But that’s usually not a problem! (And it’s pretty easy to put the light back & take your fan w/you if/when you ever move if you’re renting!)

Oh jeez, I missed this, sorry! I would love to have a ceiling fan installed if your husband is back in town again. How much does it cost? The air conditioner puts in work but it would be wonderful to have something more effective to help circulate the air.

Campbell fell for it, and used the resources of his magazine to promote Hubbard’s creation. This is what gave Hubbard a critical mass of followers, and started his career as a guru. This is something that he could never have acheived for himself.

Once he had an organisation around him, Scientology took on a life of its own and the members, fortified with a large budget, could make his most insane orders at least seem to work.

The secret to Scientology’s longevity is that it inherited Hubbard’s obcession with money, and can overcome almost any obstacle by throwing cash at it. It’s now approaching a strange impasse where it has cash reserves, and impressive property portfolio and hardly any (ageing) members.

I saw those comments too and my stomach flipped! Thanks for explaining that because I was NOT getting how they could be so disparaging to/about him so specifically directed at his disability!!! I don’t wish hardship (esp health hardship) on ANYone typically, but these are people who truly need to experience firsthand a severe handicap of some sort, temporary or not… I’ve had friends get pulled into a few different cults, or groups that are pretty close but I’ve NEVER experienced such a loss of humanity or empathy that I see in the hard-core Scientology peeps! Ugh – so thankful you’re out and got help so you were shown how sick that way of thinking is!!!
BTW – how goes the window cooler? Keeping cooler now? My husband may have a client or two in the LA area in the next week or two, so if you need someone to put in a ceiling fan, say the word! (We might even have one left over from a remodel job)
