“at least one of whom Scientology CLAIMED TO HAVE planned to call at trial as a witness.

I mean, do we really believe that out of all the Scientologists in the world, they would have to call the one from England to testify here? hy him and no one else? Because they thought they had an outside chance of bouncing the Judge (and they were right!) and if not, using it as grounds for an appeal.

They waited until the right time, so it could be strung out as far as possible and used for maximum effect.

If I have learned one thing over the years it is : Never take a Scientologist at their word.
Trust, but verify as the old guy playing the President used to say on the 80’s TV show… 😉

Hi SubShorpy. Sup One?! Hello again.

I was hired once to paddle a fly-fisherman around… in a canoe… on one of my most favorite lakes of all time… for a whole day. I live in the BWCAW — most of the lakes around here, motors are not permitted. Gotta travel slow & quiet. Gotta go the old way.

None of the other guides wanted that day’s pay bc spending the whole day working that hard plus not fishing themselves (on account of maintaining perfect position of the canoe for the customer using this technique) was not an enjoyable aspect for them. Guides wanna fish themselves too, see; they’re addicted to fishing & get ppl to hire them in order to pay for their addiction. ha!

So I took the guy. He loved it. I loved it. It was a fun, most excellent, day of fishing. My arms were sore later… but!!! I watched this man work a fly rod as I had never imagined they could be worked. He was an artist with that thing, I kid you not. It was not a bamboo fly rod… however, not only did he land his lure in the exact spots he wanted, but he also could wiggle that fly above the water for a spell, making it look exactly like a live winged thing suddenly touching down on the surface. Hardly a splash. Twitch, twitch. Top water hit! Amazing. He caught many many Small-mouth Bass ~ the target species. I enjoyed the show very much. I bow to his skill. He did spend his winters tying flies. Many kinds, many colors, all intricate. He was not hoity-toity. He did not dress as Mr. Mappin does in these photos. He was just a regular guy, a nice man.

FTR: I admire any fisherman who uses artificial lures accurately and with skill… to fool a fish into a strike by using ‘fake’ bait… I find it wonderful. Q

p.s. Are you a fly fisherman?

I think OSA got the Rathbuns in the end. They were obviously neutralised and gave up the fight. I would have never sued the cult, so I respect the people who dared to do so, specially Marty, who as an enforcer of RTC and the right arm of Miscavige knew what he was getting into. He told once the FBI :”you are no match for these guys” so it was brave to stand against the cult, but it would have been much easier in Norway, Denmark or in France. Scientology will be defeated by itself. It will end up like its founder. It makes such a bad reputation for itself that it will be harder and harder to get the support they got with the Clintons. No political figure on his right mind will condone such a movement now. So the cult of greed is still rich but their members are like the last survivors of an extinguished species.

Thing is, there’s no wrench to throw in Fred’s situation by making a call like that. Fred’s already gone so it makes no difference to Hope Again what Jeb says about him.
